v) Protheans look tall and majestic on Ilos, in ME 3 they look like the Collectors(though to be honest, I'll actually give Bioware some credit here since Javik is meant to be warlike since he is fighting after hundreds of years against the Reaper forces)

They actually do try to explain this by saying that Ilos had Inusannon ruins from the previous cycle, so the statues were presumably leftover Inusannon statues. Though that still raises questions about some of the figures in the beacon visions, which look more like the Ilos statues than Javik.

Or simply have the Reapers use another method that actually succeeds, but has some sort of cost. Or wasn't available before for some reason.

Well, if I remember right, Vigil theorizes that the Reapers stay in dark space hibernating to conserve energy. While only a theory, this could have been expanded into an actual plot point. The Reapers taking however long to travel from dark space could have had an effect on their ability to wage a war, making the whole thing winnable via conventional warfare.

Just pretend it was one of the other races that the Protheans took into their empire.

That's a pretty petty complaint, and if Shepard romances Tali it's addressed in dialogue.

Guns like the Reverent and Lancer are good because putting crap weapons in games that nobody uses is poor game design and a waste of resources.

Then what about the Locust?

I loved the Locust in ME2.

I don't know wtf they did to it in ME3. :crying:

ME2 Locust was a dlc weapon, thus it has to be very powerful. Locus in ME3 is a base game weapon thus it has to be balanced.  Basic game design.

It's completely worthless in ME3. How is that basic game design?

If players are spending extra money for weapons in DLC, those weapons need to be pretty good. Players shouldn't feel as though they wasted their money.

Certain weapons always have to get the suck stick in base game. Locust got the stick in ME3.

But for having a weapon you pick up towards the end of the game, that's pretty stupid

I dunno man $2 doesn't really warrant trivializing the game. I haven't even touched the Venom or Reegar in single player and the Typhoon is insane on Garrus. Most of my Shepards couldn't hope to match his damage output.

It's also harmless. Who used submachine guns in ME 3 anyway? I never did.

What I would have done is move all the exotic pistols to the submachine gun slot and require the player to carry a pistol. Move the Scorpion, Arc Pistol, Acolyte, maybe the Talon. That way, the player has a little more motivation to carry a submachine gun, and Shepard is always carrying a standard pistol for cutscenes.

Dunno what I'd do with the Executioner. Probably just scrap it.

The now buffed Hurricane and Blood Pack Punisher are great and totally worth carrying. The rest of them are rather suck though.

The Punisher is just too inaccurate. And the Hurricane is multiplayer only, isn't it?

Yeap. I just don't like the way they got indoctrinated. I mean, I would have bought that they got indoctrinated in the first place, but TIM and his minions getting derpy all because of a (Human) Reaper INSIDE the Cerberus base... that was really really stupid.

Would have been far better game design to have the sucky weapons end up being those you pick up near the beginning of the game.

Endgame weapon sucking makes little sense.

I really like this idea.  Damn you for not being in the writers' room when they were brainstorming ME3's plot!  :P
