But isn't in-universe Miranda SUPPOSED to be the somewhat (scratch that, DEFINITELY) creepy brainchild of the narcissim of Henry Lawson?

She's also supposed to be intelligent, and I can tell you, no person with half a brain would wear Miranda's "uniform" into combat.

Sigh this is a game  not actual combat.....that is  the whole point of the discussion....... and for the unknown amout of time why i did a simmilar thread.

Ok using the phrase "this is a game" is literally a weak excuse

its not  an excuse  ..and i wrote  a whole  thread   on why it isn't  ....

However  if your  going to  take that stance from  my point of  view  any statement saying  " Its not  practical " and/or  statements expecting everything to  be  ultra realistic is just as bad

Yet immersion and Role-play are supposed to be one of the selling points of the game, in fact they are the selling points.

The use of combat armor is somewhat diminished when everyone has shields and barriers. Notice that most female characters in Mass Effect are biotics, therefore they wear lighter armor just like Shepard did in ME1.

The Female characters that aren't Biotics use heavier stuff, Like Tali and Ashley.

It's not about being ultra realistic, its about being sensible adding immersion to a role-playing action game

Going into a heavy combat area or a toxic planet/ non-air planet wearing a catsuit breaks immersion and doesn't make sense

Miranda could wear her outfit on the Normandy and Hubs but in other places it would be sensible to wear some kind of armor (which the Alternate Appearance pack provided)

I somehow doubt that high heels are appropriate battlefield attire

I have no problem with immersion  when  things  are not 100 $ realistic... "immersion"   personal thing not something that can be a cast in stone .

Probably not, but whatever.  I'm not defending the blatant sexualization of females in Mass Effect, I'm just saying their is probable reason as to why most of them don't use heavy combat armor.

I wouldn't as much an issue if Samara and Miranda weren't wearing high heels and skintight armor.

I actually like Samara and her look. Don't really like Miranda and her armor though.

The picture of the right could've been her armored appearance and the left could be her normal outfit

She is an Asari Justicar. I doubt anyone can even shoot through her barrier before she tears them to shreds.

ok now your  just getting rude  this  is like talking to a wall stop trying to dictate what you think  is  "appropriate"  you seem to have  no  respect for other peoples opinions

This is not a realistic military  sim. let me  put it t his way  I don't  want  ultra realism  in my games  .... I don't want  practical armor this is a game played for fun .

if your definition of fun  differs  so be  it  but that is your opinion  not fact

So your saying you wouldn't have had fun if characters like Miranda, Jacob, Jack, and Samara all had a combat armored appearance (not just heavy armor) that players could choose for certain missions that would add immersion and be sensible

As long as she's not distracted, stunned, etc.

Barriers require concentration and effort.  Armor at least ahs to be shot away

Edit:  Besides, anyone who fight stuff for a living ought to know to seize and advantage possible. An extra layer of protection can mean teh difference between life and death

I don't care what options are available as long  there is   " non practical  sexy  armor"  If its an ultra realistic military sim game I am probably not going to buy it  so your question is irrelevant

Pretty sure an Asari Justicar is the epitome of concentration.

Heavy armor can also be a hinderance.

see there is where you are  wrong ther is no right  and wrong  here .

You want  ultra realictic  armor  thats fine

I want halter top and daisy dukes

Your the one trying to shove  YOUR opinion  and make it  "fact"

And that's were you are missing the point, I don't only want characters to wear pratical gear (though i do), but I also argue that they Should wear pratical armor based on logic and basic military tactics, and the fact  that they don't  do so is damaging to immersion and logic.

Wrong, trained, skilled Combatants not wearing proper gear and using proper equipments when they have acces to them is direct contradiction with basic logic.

I suggest you look up what an opinion actually is before making accusations.

People would be disappointed with real body armor - considering it makes you look like a soggy rat.

You really don't look good in body armor no matter how you slice it. There's no way to look cool at all.

Liara, shadow, femshep in demo armor, shepard in shadow armor, Miri in Cerberus armor, kaidan in his base armor in ME3, Garrus in ME3, Ash in ME. I can go on.

"Real" body armor doesn't consist of hard, form-fitting armor plates.

At this point I'm just going to reiterate that functional and stylish do not have to be exclusive.

True enough.
