Am I really the only one who isn't bothered by the outfits in ME2 and 3?

I mean, I nitpick the minor details, but this is a point where even I stop and have to ask "who gives a f**k?"

I wasn't too happy with some of the ME2 outfits, but I could actually live with everything without complaining... until Ash's ME3 outfit. They went full retard with that, in my eyes.

And that's just the "uniform." We're not even discussing the "boob shirt" she wears in the hospital.

I think they just re-textured the "bra" model for that...

Yup, the outfits and armors are, generally speaking better inME3 than ME2.  At least you get options with the armors.

Sadly, Ashley, my favorite character in the whole trilogy, still go the "sex appeal" treatment.

@Deinonslayer:  According to someone working on modding body meshes, that appears to be exactly what was done.

Same with me really, I actually have no problem with a character being attractive but they can overdo it to the point were its just silly

And for the ME2 characters, I would be more ok with their outfits when they aren't on missions/ on the ship but during missions atleast give them some kind of armor outfit

They 'went full retard' because what? Because it's blue?

"Full retard" was when they first wore silly little masks in a vacuum, much worse than the "sexy" skin-tight outfits. At least those would be possible, just stupid.

I don't really care either, other things are more important. Not saying I wouldn't have liked if they were more mature about it but what can you do.

No, I think "full retard" would be calling a developer retarded for not making 24 outfits when most games struggle with a half-dozen.

Mass Effect 3 had it's faults but as far as artist style goes the Mass Effect universe is sleek, sexy and pretty much generates it's own unique look......Bioware did an amazing job.....if you want COD looking gear....go play COD.

They did make outfits - silly little masks. And some characters got sensible helmets anyway (Garrus and Grunt, Tali comes pre-helmeted).

If you can't do all the characters properly you shouldn't have that many character, or avoid situations where helmets might be needed. So there's nothing wrong with criticisng the developer for making a really bad job of something to the point it looks idiotic.

Why does it always need to be CoD-looking gear? It doesn't! It should just be a bit more realistic, and look like something future militaries would wear! It doesn't necessarily need to be those camouflage uniforms with kevlar vests that modern militaries use, but instead just a uniform that at the very least should not look incredibly sexualized.

Yes, there are only two options - cartoonish TF2/Dishonored-style outfits and generic modern military shooter CoD...

Characters who are very clearly and deliberately portrayed to be non-military should be wearing generic military gear. Characters should look like characters. Not like grunts.

And we even posted pics and stated a medium for it, guess he didn't read through the whole thread

I really hope people aren't thinking that the developers used breathe masks because they thought the idea of not showing a female character's face for one mission would be unbearable.

What other explination could there be? Liara on Mars in ME3 with her face and eyes exposed? Miranda comfotable in the upper atmosphere of a brown dwarf with just a silly face mask. It was a wrong decision in design.

The considerable work involved in creating a new outfit...

Liara is already wearing armor, there is no excuse for the breathing mask. Also don't give me all that work. They could have easly given Miranda armor, same with Jack.  It's bad design and you know it.

They should still wear some from of combat outfit, Miranda and Thane in ME2's Alternate appearance pack is proof of this

I don't care if you're a civi or a soldier. If you want to fight in a combat zone that has bullets, hazards and other fun stuff, you wear a proper fighting gear. You can wear whatever you want off missions but once you pick up that gun and leave the shuttle/ship/whatever to go shoot something you better way proper gear. Miranda and Jack wearing their crap on the Reaper IFF, Collector ship or Legions LM was just plain ass stupid, same with all the breathing mask. Also Liara wearing a breathing on the geth dreadnaught?:lol::lol::lol::lol:

I'm going to a gun fight, do you guys think this knife I have will be enough to win? It's a very cool looking knife. This knife doesn't look like any other knife.

So, what's wrong with matching uniforms?  Militaries aren't the only ones with matching outfits. Do you really need to have a catsuit on a character to recognize them? Because if you do, then I pity you, I really do.

Yet, you declare practical protective gear to be military issue as well. However, this is not the case. Civilians (corporate and not) can and do use hardsuits to protect against enviromental extremes. You make little sense, and I wish that you'll rethink your overly zealous defense of the borderline idiotic (from a combat point of view, which this game revolves around) outfits that do not make sense with battlefield hazards, whether they be natural or artificial.

No one said that they have to look like grunts of a unit. It's called customization.

It's not about recognition, it's about characterization. If you can't grasp that childishly simple concept, then I pity you. I really do.

A cat burgler is not going to come across as a cat burgler if she wears combat fatigues. Would someone like Kasumi wear combat fatigues in real life, danger or no? I really doubt it.

In heavy combat where stealing is not being used? Yes she should be wearing combat gear in COMBAT. You don't seem to grasp the simple concept of combat and non-combat. What Kasumi does for a living is nowhere near the level Shepard and her crew does on a regular basis. Kasumi could easly wear comfy light armor or simply put armor pieces on her clothing or wear a helmet like the Fury. The list goes on. Same with Jack, Miranda, Samara ect.
