You're not very smart for not listening to what your enemies have to say.

Killed the Reapers, exterminated the Leviathans, then Shepard teams up with god tier Javik, Garrus, and Wrex to form a new empire.

A human, turian, krogan empire.

The lesser races will get in line or be exterminated.

The new Empire's anthem

Does saying stuff like that make you feel powerful?

Well when my enemies get thier act together, then I'll listen. All I see is they do something different than what they say.

Can this be their anthem instead?

If Shepard didn't listen, he'd be dead.

...The new Empire shall have two anthems.

There will be much rejoicing.

I think you mean "If the Catalyst didn't bring him up for a chat, he'd bleed out on the floor."

I think you're on some kind of empowerment crusade, David, especially when you start actively criticizing your opposition's viewpoint.

It's an immense compliment to me if the best you can say is that my opinions might not be right because they're opinions and opinions might not be right.

Little bit of trivia: I've aggressively disagreed with both MassivelyEffective and iakus on issues, and I never criticized their perspective as "stupid".

No, it's only okay to repeatedly call the developers and the game stupid. Isn't that right?

Are you one of the creators?

No, it's not really cool, but there's not a lot that can be done about that. That's their deal.

After waking up in a pile of rubble, Shepard decides to make his way to the Presidium with the hope of finding anyone still alive.  He manages to get into contact C-Sec and the Alliance.  After a series of seemingly unimportant events, he's back on the Normandy and visits Cronos Station in order to claim it as his own private deep-space getaway and super-secret base of operations for Council Spectres and the Alliance.  After his business at Cronos is said and done, Citadel  begins.

 Aaaaaaanyway.

thoughts on companions in the ending:

Miranda:  joins the Crucible team to help repair the relays.  Her already extensive technical know-how as well as knowledge of Cerberus tech proves invaluable.  In time, she is able to found her own research organization dedicated to further understanding of leftover Reaper tech.  Unlike Cerberus, she actually treats them with care and enforces proper safety protocols

Jacob:  Marries brynn.  Their baby is named Steven, after Admiral Hackett.  Hacob ends up retiring from fighting for various causes and dedicates himself to his new family.  His lsat public appearance is at the grand reopening of the Citadel.  He and Shepard had some drinks afterwards.

Liara:  With the relay network crippled her Shadow Broker duties were greatly curtailed.  She and Javik wrote that book on teh Protheans.  Although they were never friends, they gained a mutual respect for each other.  Liara kept in close contact with SHepard.  And, when the time came, his descendants.  "Aunt Liara" remained an ally of the Shepardsfor generations.

Joker and EDI:  The two remained inseperable.  Long after teh SR2 became obsolete and Joker should have retired from the Alliance, teh twi stayed in service.  The two had enough pull that Alliance brass always found ways to keep the two of them together.  But then came the day when, with only Joker and EDI on board, the Normandy unexpectedly departed.  No one knows where they went, or how they eluded detection.  They were never seen again.

Wrex and Eve had a difficult time.  As expected, plenty of krogan wanted payback after the genophage was cured.  Fortunately., the rebuilding effort kept them focused on other activities for a while.  The stance on salarians also softened somewhat when Mordin's sacrifice was released to the public.  At Eve's suggestion, Wrex instituted strict population controls fro the krogan to prevent overpopulation ion their worlds.  Ever so slowly, the krogan started to integrate into galactic society.  And if a krogan warlord started to get out of line, questioning the new ways of doing things, Urdnot Grunt was there to set them straight.,

Tali and Garrus had an on-again, off-again relationship for years.  Their duties to their respective peoples kept them apart for long periods of time.  Eventually, they both tired of politics and retired.  Garrus arrived at her doorstep with a copy of a special extended edition of Fleet and Flotilla.

Jack found her true calling as a teacher.  With the war over, there was no longer a pressing need  to teach biotic combat techniques.  She adapted, though, and found other outlets for teaching biotics.  Namely sports.  The Ascension program began graduations highly talented biotiball players under her tutalege.

More as I think them up..

@OP:
My Rhea Shepard chose Control. She believes that something akin to Synthesis is the future of sapient life, but she doesn't trust the Catalyst's vision. Based on her experiences in the war and before, she also believes that the species of the galaxy are unable to get there on their own without destroying themselves on the way, so she decides to leave her human existence behind and ascend to become the Catalyst, take Control of the Reapers and guide the galaxy along the path, until such a time when she's no longer needed. At that point, having little in common any more with the rest of sapient life in the galaxy, she'll leave to explore the new horizons opened to her through her ascension.

I'll make this short and sweet:

It ends when Shepard loses consciousness on the citadel while trying to activate the Crucible. During the battle when every one was about to lose hope... when the Crucible wasn't firing Garrus and Tali sing a Duet for the Entire Victory Fleet to hear to lift their spirits... and they're love magically activates the Crucible and space magic particles shoot from it turning all the Reapers into their harvested Races and the Catalyst turns into a real boy.... then the Citadel explodes killing everyone on it including Shepard and the Catalyst. Then Credits Roll... after the credits ended we get a epilogue of Liara dragging Shepard smoking remains into some kind a tube that reads Lazurus 2.0 Pit Edition.

I want my Nobel Peace Prize in green.

After detonating the Crucible and destroying the Reapers, Shepard was found alive by an emergency worker at the site where the Conduit beam was in London, apparently having been beamed back to Earth immediately after arming the weapon. She spent one week in the hospital, and several months recovering from both physical and emotional issues including drug and alcohol rehab, and psychiatric counseling.

The technicians and scientists who worked on the Crucible project studied the FTL drive cores on the Reapers and began a project to build a new experimental ship that could traverse the galaxy at 1000 LY/day without the need of the mass relays like the Reapers had been able to do from dark space to the Alpha Relay. If successful this would shorten the rebuilding of the relay system by hundreds if not thousands of years.

By the time the Normandy limped back into the system, Shepard was discharged from the psychiatric treatment and was clean and sober. She was glad to see Liara again, and greeted her with a bouquet of flowers and a bottle of the finest Serrice Ice Brandy she could find, and the two locked themselves in a five-star hotel room for two days and got intoxicated and ...... (they used room service).

Well you knew that sober thing wasn't going to last.

....After finally emerging from their week long (they called the front desk) stay at the hotel, Shepard's promotion to Captain came through and she retired from the Alliance military. She was waiting on that for her pension check. Liara was setting up operations on Illium again, so Shepard moved there with her and set up the other operation: you know the one that takes care of things for Liara -- all kinds of things: people do get behind on payments and need "friendly" reminders; sometimes people pay for other things to be done. It's the nature of the Shadow Broker's business, and someone has to handle the *ahem* wet work. Shepard has a few good years left in her and she'll take on some of the more prestigious jobs and she brought a friend of hers by the by the name of Zaeed Masani along to help get things organized and make sure no one hires any Batarian bastards.
