Posts like these really highlight what people don't like about your ideas.

There's a word for people like you in times of conflict, "collaborator".

Slavery is unacceptable, ESPECIALLY under those who caused this whole mess to begin with, those who have the blood of untold numbers of civilzations on their hands.

You assume most people would be happy.
You assume they wouldn't care about being thralls.
You assume the Leviathan rule wouldn't be noticed.

If Leviathans rule was noticeable and harsh, then lesser beings would never "build the machines that eventually destroy them". Obviously, Leviathans give their thralls a lot of freedoms. Most of such thralls live like in democratic society, otherwise the organic-vs-synthetic problem wouldn't exist. This is just a logical conclusion based on what we've seen in Leviathan DLC.

I'm pretty sure the rachni queen would help me eradicate the levys as a personal favor. It's worth noting that the rachni can't be indoctrinated, so they'd be pretty helpful.

I noticed you completely glossed over my other points Seival.

Not indoctrinated but they can still be manipulated like they were before when the Leviathans instigated the Rachni Wars.

Endings are hard. Any drunken monkey can crap out a begining, but endings are impossible. You try to tie up every loose end, but you never can. The fans are always going to bi^ch, there's always going to be holes, and since it's the end it's all suppose to be adding up to something. I'm telling you, it's a raging pain in the butt.

So what's it all add up to? Hard to say, but I would say this was a test. For Shepard and friends. And I think they did alright. Up against good, evil, Geth, Reapers, destiny, and even a god of sorts. They made their own choices and no matter what paths taken, I think they did ok.

Endings are hard. Then again, nothing ever really ends. Does it?

In my ending:
- the Rachni are dead
- Wrex and Kirrahe and Kaidan survive Virmir
- Liara is Shepards LI
- the original coucil survives
- Hereitcs are destroyed
- Maelon's data is saved
- the Collector base is destroyed
- all ME2 companions survive
- Javik is revived
- Genophage cure is sabotaged
- Mordin and Wrex die
- Eve lives
- peace is made bewteen Geth and Quarians
- Sheapard discovers the Leviathan and the origin of the Reapers
- Shepard helps Aria retake Omega
- the Geth and EDI are killed when the destroy ending is chosen
- Maxed EMS to reduce the destruction left in the wake of ME3

My vision of the ME universe, post ME3, is that the Geth and Reaper "corpses" are salvaged and reverse engineered to improve ship drives and tech in general. Mars is terraformed into a farm world to feed all the different races while the Citadel and Relays are rebuilt. Civilization is slowly restored and improved by the advancements made from reverse engineering the Geth and Reapers.

The Normandy crew focus on repairing the quantum entanglement communicator before getting the rest of the ship up and running. Once they establish a link to Earth they learn Shepard is gravely injured, but is in stable condition and is predicted to recover. The situation is explained and they begin to make there way back to the Sol system. In my version, Joker didn't go for the Relay, but instead for the nearest habitable planet. During the trip back, Shepard contacts The Normandy sporting new Admiral bars. Not to be out done, Liara tells Shepard she just learned she is pregnant. They raise the child and she eventually follows in her "fathers" footsteps becoming a Spectre. Shepard dies peacefully of old age and given a place of honor whose adventures become the legends of future generations.

The Krogan inevitably figure out they still suffer from the Genophage, but are convinced by falsified evidence from the Salarians that the "cure" is just slow acting and will slowly take effect in generations to come. As a result, Eve and the other females are able to guide the rest of the Krogan along Wrex's ME2 plans for the Krogan and a modified Cure is eventually distributed secretly to a stablized Krogan.

The Quarians thrive on Rannoch once they are able to design VIs to jump start their immune systems using their enviro-suits the way the Geth were before the Crucibles energy wave hit. The rebuild their home world and eventually retake their colony worlds. They are hailed as heroes for the aid in the war. Some push for a council spot, but because they tried to use the chaos of the Reaper in invasion they only get an Ambassadorship on the rebuilt Citadel.

The Turians slowly rebuild Palaven. It takes several decades to get back to their former glory. Garrus, reluctantly, becomes the next Turian councilor. At his coronation, infront of a monument dedicated to the fallen heros of the war, he stands proudly with his wife Tali. A controversial union in both cultures, but ultimately accepted.

The Asari's work to quell tensions between races as they work to rebuild their infrastructure on Thessia. Liara continues on as the Shadow Broker for several centuries working to maintain the balance of power between governments. Samara helps rebuild the monastery and spends the rest of her days training new Justicars and rounding up Ardat-Yakshi when ever they pop up.

With the Salarian plans exposed during the mission on Sur'Kesh to secretly uplift the Yahg to use as shock troops and use Varren as biological weapons, there are calls for the Salarians to be stripped of the seat on the council. With the state the galaxy is in the other races need the Salarians too much to impose such action. Tighter restrictions on the STG's capabilities are the best the other councilors can do. Tensions remain high for several years.

Though reduced in size and power, galactic society slows returns to normal. The Batarians hover near extinction while new races emerge and the older races grow. Conflicts break out forging a new protagonist for the next chapter in the ME universe.

See this, this right here. This concept terrifies me.

To me, happiness is not what is most important. Freedom  is.(*)

I have the right to be unhappy. I have the right to choose my own path. That should include the right to be self-destructive.
If I'm to have a government over me (and I'm not entirely happy with the idea of governments, but I do accept them), I want to have some say in who they are and what they are doing. So if you're going to have the Leviathans and the Reapers in charge of the galaxy, ensuring that we are all 'happy' whether we want to be or not, ensuring that we are subtly changed without asking our permission... I don't want to live in that galaxy.

It doesn't matter that I wouldn't know about it. I wouldn't know if I was living in the Matrix - but I don't want to live in the Matrix. Ignorance is not bliss.

(*)And yes, I say that as a proponent of Control. To anyone reading this, that might seem like a contradiction. If so, I direct you to my earlier post in this thread, and also to the rightmost link in my sig...

After repairing the mass relays, tech reverse engineered from both them and the reaper hulks are used to create ship drives that permit longer, faster jumps, bringing the mass relays closer to obsolescence.

Oh, and Glyph, after spontaneously achieving self awareness, takes the opportunity to come onto Joker after EDI's demise.

My ending saw humanity overcoming its base problems through an uplift process. We became less inclined toward instinct and elements such as fear and greed, which had ruled us prior, became less prominent. A galactic consensus was formed, where people could share both their thoughts and emotions as easily as any other form of information, fostering a greater sense of empathy and understanding. Barriers between people broke down, and often an encounter with a new species lead to new friendships, rather than the more historically favoured option -- war.

The Synthesis wave provided cures to many illnesses, and the information provided by the Reapers supplied the rest. The Reapers, freed from the mind control of the Catalyst, split into groups. Some chose to go off and find themselves, to try and seek their purpose in this new Universe, others went offline, and some remained and integrated themselves into galactic society out of a sense of guilt for their past acts, even though they weren't responsible for them.

As technology progressed, the Reapers found a way to separate themselves back into the species they once were whilst preserving the original. Some chose to disseminate their personality throughout their constituent members and go offline, others chose to share their minds whilst remaining the individual entity they had become. The galaxy swelled with species anew, each with their own unique cultures and technologies.

Synthetics had been provided with an upgrade which allowed them not only access to the galactic consensus, but also the ability to feel and parse the emotions and memories found within. This lead to synthetics having a greater understanding of organics. The first synthetic to seek this understanding was EDI, accessing the last memories of Shepard and living them with her, understanding the necessity of her sacrifice.

With a newfound ability to upgrade and better themselves, the galactic community continued to push forward with new technologies and sciences, all of which were readily shared with everyone in the galactic consensus. This lead to new technologies such as being able to back-up one's mind, and restore one's being in the form of a clone. With this population boom, the galaxy itself was no longer big enough to sustain everyone. Ships were sent out to explore new frontiers, and with almost every passing day new advancements were made.

The Singularity was at hand.

Also, I have to say that I still find it despicable that some people are being anti-intellectual, hateful thugs and picking on Seival. It's one thing to disagree with his ideas, it's another to insult him as a person and to continue to attack him.

Valid counterpoints to his opinions are rare. Look at JasonShepard for how to do it right. If you disagree with him, that's fine. But picking on him only makes you look like a complete troglodyte, a creature incapable of reason.

After reading the first post, 'ole David's post, and the last post, I have no idea what this thread is about. But I'll speak anyway.

In my ending, I saved the galaxy. I ended the Reaper threat that had been plaguing the galaxy for countless millenia. I destroyed their work, the Mass Relays. We, the citizens of the galaxy, are finally free of them.

Free.

I gave my life. It was well worth the price. My life didn't matter--what my life purchased was what mattered: salvation. The Reapers are gone.

In my ending, shepard's mind became scattered within the reapers and caused them to retreat. Tensions were high until multiple reapers began to shut down one by one, husk deactivating until there was only a single reaper left standing. It than slowly projected a hologram of itself ala harbinger from the arrival dlc, except instead of a reapers image, it was shepards. He explains the situation to hacket, the normandy crew, and gives a strange yet comforting farewell before the credits roll.
