Hi all - I know it's not possible to upgrade weapons past V on the first playthrough of ME3, but is it possible to upgrade to X if you do a second playthrough with a different character? Or does it have to be a NG+ with the original character? I've beaten the game once and am currently doing a playthrough of all three games with a new character. Google has yielded no answers. Thanks!

It has to be an NG+ playthrough. Each character will only be able to upgrade to level V on their first playthrough.

I just completed my 3rd play-through of ME3 on the Hardcore difficulty and I was only able to upgrade my weapons to V.

Were they 3 separate playthroughs or did you import your finished ME3 game to start a new game?

As someone said...just fire up Gibbed savegame editor and add the flag of NG+ and...presto!

That will be why then. A New Game+ is when you import your complete ME3 game to start a new game. That way your weapons will start at the level V and can be upgraded to level X
