I am getting the game, but it was abit underwhelming at the EA presentation. Could have showed some gameplay seeing as it is not that far away and it was playable on the E3 floor.

They should have released a demo via Origin.

I think EA are treating Mirror's Edge as a niche title that'll either sink or swim, which is a shame, as it needs more coverage and advertisement!

No guns for Faith:
‘Mirror’s Edge Catalyst’ Removes Gun Combat
“Faith will fight, but she doesn’t kill. Now the fighting is more of an extension of the movement. It builds on the flow. . . . When Faith is in flow, when she stitches together move after move without failing and keeps her momentum going, she’s actually invulnerable to bullets.”

That's good, the weapon mechanic in the first game was rather rough and as I went on I just forgot about them and jumped/slide kicked enemies and kept running.

I'm curious how easy/difficult it'll be compared to the first one. I remember it was a pain to get all the triggers right.

It's been a while since I played the first game but I had moments were I got into a zone and everything just flowed from one moment to the next jumping up over walls sliding, wall jumping. It was just when guns got involved that things got tricky due as they didn't really fit (for me anyway). Though as I said kicking someone and continuing with the momentum from a jump cutting a corner as bullets fly past you was quite the experience.

This will probably sound ridiculous, but it kind of bothers me that they've changed Faith's face into a more classically pretty one. She's looking a lot less distinctive now. There's something just unoriginal in them doing that.

Huh, wasn't expecting that.
But I doubt I'll miss it.
“Faith will fight, but she doesn’t kill.
She kicked a dude out of a high story window in the trailer, I think that qualifies as a kill.

‘Mirror’s Edge Catalyst’ Favors Refined Traversal Over Direct Combat
Yet another article from GameRant that highlights a few things. First, according to the demo, you can avoid obstacles with the press of three buttons/triggers. There's no mention as to where there'll be combos like before what worries me a little since it was, at the same time, the most punishing and rewarding part of gameplay. On the other hand, there were few enemies in the demo (only three) and "as long as Faith was in her “flow,” moving quickly from structure to structure, she was capable of taking out these foes with just the press of a button." That's great news provided you're in the zone or "flow." I wish they would release a demo so we could test this out ourselves but apparently parkour is "smoother and more intuitive."
Guess we'll have to wait and see.
I'm trying to find a Q&A of Mirror's Edge: Catalyst on Twitch. Will post it if I find it.

Pricey? It's highway robbery.
A statue, some temporary tattoos, a steel case, lithograph, concept art, and a box for 200 bucks? Typical EA price inflation.
