I wouldn't mind if it were Zaeed... or however that is spelled. He's not ugly at all.

Me neither! I love those old war veteran types. He reminds me a bit of Canderous. Still, I don't think he'll be an option. That'd delve into the "creepy" territory too much for some people. Not for me, but hey.

Nah, he means business. Why waste words or expensive food when you could just as well get right to it?

...Kidding. Really, Radahldo! Tsk, tsk. Seeeriously.

That's odd that they kind of screw the female shepherd players. Most of the guys look pretty boring, to be honest, and even Dragon Age had an f/f romance, which has been a staple from earlier Bioware games. Seems like my female shepherd playthrough was a waste and I'll have to bring my guy up to speed to enjoy the full story of ME 2. Lame.

You mean Bioware?  As far back as Jade Empire you could have a female/female romance.  Maybe further back, but I can't remember.  Certainly not in Baldur's Gate, but it seems Bioware got more liberal as time went on.

As in straight-up lesbian and not simply bi?

Juhani in Star Wars:  Knights of the Old Republic was a lesbian.

Each one of their other f/f romances have been with a bi female npc.

You mean they screw the FemShep players that want F/F romance options! Heterosexual females get quite a lot in ME2. Jacob, Thane, maybe even Garrus. It's unfortunate that there won't be any F/F options though, but I guess we can't have everything.

In Mass Effect there is lesbian relationships if you want. At the very least, the chick with whom I take my portrait will "hook up" with a female heroine.

Full blown lesbian, I mean. The only BW games I played was this and KOTOR. And juhani was some kind of ugly. A lesibian squadmate would have been perfect to foil my dudeshep. Just to see the possible interactions. I mean she would have to be developed well for alot of straight males to carry her along. It would be interesting.

If that is what he means, then no, Bioware never has.  It seems which each game though got more open minded.  Dragon Age had a same sex options for males, which is exceedingly rare for ANY game.  If what this thread states is true, your only options as a female shepherd are a bunch of dudes, and all the interesting "big time character" based romances are reserved for the male Shepherd.

Yes, Juhani in KOTOR was a full blown lady-lovin' lesbian.  She falls in love with a Female Revan but not a Male one.

Yes. They could've eaten the croissant in a dimly lit room, with candle light barely illuminating their faces. Sigh!

You are allowed to establish your character as lesbian in ME1. Back in the closet in ME2, though. Gay man Sheps will be spending the entire trilogy in the closet.

I wonder if Bioware considers Mass Effect as something of a "mainstream" flagship franchise, and gay relationships would be too "awkward" for all the console kiddie shooter fans they are trying to attract?

The shallow sleazyness inside me still yearns to see how potentially awesome a femshep/miranda romances could have been. Hell, i'd have taken a femshep/suze one.

Oh, and yep, Juhani was the only lesbian party member BioWare has ever done, I think. Could Samara be the second one? With Tali filling up MaleShep's 3rd LI spot and all. Somehow, Garrus seems more unlikely to be a romance option than Tali.

It seems like they feel that way.  Gay romances in their "flagship" title are too gross when men kiss and women get stuck with their main "female" romance (Liara) being a non-entity.  Cool beans.

Juhani was meant to be a lesbian. Her romance was cut, though the vestiges of it still remain in the game. Aside from Juhani? No. BioWare has never made an 'only lesbian' romanceable character.

I'm all for Samara being the bisexual option, I don't want people to be without options. However, at the same time, I don't want Samara to fill up one of the FemSheps' slots and thus make it an uneven LI spread. Then, of course, there's Tali and Garrus and... augh. It hurts my brain, competition and mixed hopes.

As a sidenote?  Even if they're not officially recognized as lesbian and F/F, at LEAST people were able to enjoy FemShep/Liara.  Folks that want M/M haven't even had a chance for ONE option yet.

I'd take Samara as a lesbian. I just want a female in the squad that femshep can romance, but that my Shepherd cannot.

Unless they secretly count Tali as "not male or female" and then everyone wins, but I doubt it. No "queerish" ways in Mass Effect! Fox News would have another nasty special about it!
