I wouldn't mind if it were Zaeed... or however that is spelled. He's not ugly at all.

Me neither! I love those old war veteran types. He reminds me a bit of Canderous. Still, I don't think he'll be an option. That'd delve into the "creepy" territory too much for some people. Not for me, but hey.

This is quite an interesting comment you made there.

I would Imagine that there are some women gamers out there in their 40's, perhaps even a lot older.
Would it be really hard to imagine these women of "age" would prefer a love interest closer to their own age, or do all of them have to be cougars?
Talking about Zaaed as a LI for femsheps.

If you want to flip the coin Liara was "considered barely a child " among the asari who live for a thousand years.
Liara is 106, so that would make her jail bait then?
I mean since it is creepy ( your words) for  any female gamer to have Zaaed as a love interest cause he is a wheatered man of middle age or something like that.

I don't hate options. Since I am part of the 80% that are not into gay game relationships I don't really see it as an option to begin with.
Perhaps next they should include , S&M, water sports and caprophage as "options" as well during the "sex" scene's?
I'm sure that these people make up some kind of percentage of the population as well.

I just find it silly that's all. This is turning into some kind of affirmative action crap.
People that are gay/bi are just that, it doesn't mean every single thing in this universe have to take that into account.
As I said 10-20% doesn't make it so.

What's next? No game or movie can ever be made unless at least 20% of all the villans and good guys are gay and show it to the audience so there is no mistake.

There was no black squad member in the last game, which almost makes it look like Jacob is the "token" black guy in this one.
I do find it silly when the forum is flooded with these gay request's like Bioware are somehow biggot and evil for not including gay relationships.

I'd like to think Mass Effect trilogy is a little more than romances.

I applogize for not making a politically correct post ( no I'm not).

Let me know next time the world was built in mind for dwarf/little people......<_<

You're a guy who doesn't want F/F relationships in an RPG? Amazing. And no,, I don't think they should expand out the sex scenes. The romance section of the game is not about the actual encounters per sey, it's about the connection that gives rise to them. So, S&M is fairly irrelevant.

And no, that's not next. Maybe it is next for Bioware, I cannot say. Would you actually object?

There were 2 human squad members last time. 1 in what, 5? odds of being black. (Caucasian, Black, Asian, Middle Eastern, Mediterranean; I'm being generic) . This time we have 3. Next time we may have an asian squaddie, big deal.

The Mass Effect Trilogy is about you being Commander Shepard. What Commander Shepard does along the way of saving the glalaxy is up to you.

Seems to me people that are either gay or bi can't play a game today unless they get to have their homosexual romances. It is getting really tiresome reading it over and over again.
Your less than 10-20% of the population, get used to it.

Let it me put this way, I'm not homosexual IRL. I prefer to play females, mainly due to aesthetic reasons. (Or, in the case of ME, because the male voice actor is horrible, while the female voice is great, imho). Now, regarding games with romance options, choosing a male LI with a female character is great role play, but for me as a player awkward. Thus I prefer f/f romances if available, as strange as it sounds, that's the "straight" option for me.

Imho, if you just open up all options for both genders, where would be the harm? Even BioWare must have thought about this for ME1, or why where the voice lines for a FemShep/Ashley romance recorded and in the game files?

So, that is what I've been saying, this time no gay romance, big deal...
Perhaps in ME3 you'll get one.

Also, why did you just stipulate F/F, how is that fair to the male gay people?

You don't even realize that you treat the topic of no minority squad mates as " big deal" and then at the same time make it a big deal about sexual preference.

I personally don't care if there are gay romances or minority squad mates, I just find these topics seem to make it the biggest issue with the game, quite annoying.

Relax people, you should be far more worried and bothered if you can't get your real life romance, whether it is gay bi or straight...

Win! Win! You win the internets! I also play females for an aesthetic reason, and I'm not a huge fan of F/M love scenes. Why? Because they're so cut-and-dry, overdone and "normal".

I'm glad it's implied Liara is still an LI in ME2, but I'm unsure where I would actually go for her again - It depends on the other options I suppose. However, I don't think BioWare should open up the romances to all genders. Aside from a gameplay perspective (it gets you to play a male if you want the male only romances, so for example Ash and Morrigan), it's the story. Not every character is as open minded as your PC, so some options will automatically be blocked off.

Mind you, now that I think about it, ME didn't have a homosexual relationship. Asari are technically gender neutral (or monogender, depends how you look at it) so I wouldn't say they could as Male or Female. Maybe that's the reasoning for avoiding one in ME2, just to continue the theme.

This is something Sigmund Freud would love to delve deeper into I believe :P.

Seriously you want to have a gay relationship IN game just so you can FEEL straight in real life.
Well, I personally wonder why for "asthetic reasons" you feel that you have to play as a female, it seems vague.
Also how can you identify yourself playing as a female when you're a male straight guy , you claim cause her voice acting is better, odd in my point of view.

I'm kinda curious if you played as a female in DAO ( if you own it) as well?

For Bioware to have F/F or M/M cause some "straight" players want to play as opposite sex and then have gay sex to feel straight, then we are in really uncharted territories.

Now I can totally see the point for a gay guy or girl having the gay option, cause they ARE gay.
In my view though, it is fine, I just object to the tone and sheer amount of topics regarding this subject on the forums.

It is like a gay pride parade in the forum.

Of course I've played DAO with female chars, my avatar picture is one of them. Who could resist in playing a female elf if there is an option to do so? Image IPB Great game, and I was pleased with the romance options available therein. As I was in ME or Jade Empire.
Just see OnlyShallow89's response, I knew I'm not the only one - however, thinking this way, and admitting this in a public forums are two different shoes I guess. Oh, Shoes! See, I can roleplay female characters perfect! Image IPB

Seriously, this is a minor topic, and if discussed in a mature way, maybe with some humor, a company as great as BioWare was alway able to surprise, and cater to many. Liara will make an appearance in ME2, no? Let's see how that goes Image IPB

Why does everyone keep saying Tali, Miranda and SuZe as confirmed male romances.
Or the other options for female?

People who say that Miranda, Subject Zero, Jacob, and Thane are confirmed love interests say this because they are confirmed love interests.

I don't think Tali or Miranda have been confirmed. Subject Zero is pretty obviously a love interest and Miranda seems likely too but Tali?

Tali is a Quarian and Quarians aren't like the Asari who's biology lets them mate with any most sentient species. Additionally, Quarians have a very weak immune system. Even if Tali could have sex with Shepard it may very well kill her.

I think the romance options will be as followed.

Male:

Miranda

Subject Zero

Samara

Female:

Jacob

Samara.

Yeah, I think the female will have one less romance option than the male. Alien on Alien sex is impossible unless it's an Asari.

Miranda's fight for the lost trailer pretty much confirms her as a love interest.

Either that, or Shepard is just giving her a friendly breast-exam.

Y'know how they said you can do side-quests for some of the crew members?  Maybe that's Chakwas' quest:

"Commander, I've got a splitting headache, and I don't feel up to doing the mammography today, can you give me a hand?"

anatomy is perfectly relevant, because if her nose was on her arse, she might not be so attractive to you, eh?

and yes in technical terms the body models were the same, probably to save on system resources, that does not mean that asari physiologies are universally fixed. hell given the differences in skin colour and markings, they have more diversity than humans already.

Well...you know just because Shephard might be able to sex it up with Miranda doesn't necessarily mean that she is a "love-interest".

She's the female lead in a bioware game. Of course she is.

Internal anatomy I meant obviously, as I was responding to your disecting argument. They could have lungs in their head and brains in their toes for all I care, on the outside they'd still look like attractive human females.

Who cares what the reason was, their bodies are still exactly the same.

You seriously expect to find Asari in the next mass effect games with your "nose on their arse", or anything else that would not make them look like human females anymore? They don't have any more diversity in game than humans.

In any case I'm through arguing with you. It's off topic and if you won't agree that asari look like human females I might as well waste my time trying to make my friend see that the Latvian gambit is unsound. Oh, and for the maker's sake, fix your shift key.

Thane is confirmed. There *will* be alien sexytime. The ESRB rating confirmed human/alien sexytime for both genders, as well as a 'talk it out' option. It isn't entirely unfathomable that Tali/Shepard or Garrus/Shepard could talk out their feelings rather than have a bodice-ripping ten second love scene. :P

Bottom line is that anything is possible right now for these last LI slots.

The human alien "sexytime" no doubt refers to Samara. There will not be a romance option with any other alien besides an Asari.

Ditto on that, Thane is confirmed. And I can guarantee you, if someone wanted to find a way to have sex with an elcor or hanar, they'd find a way. Nothing of that sort is 'impossible'. It might kill, disable, or psychologically damage you or your partner, but that doesn't mean it can't at least begin to happen.
