Yea I don't kick anybody really unless I suspect a cheater. The playerbase on PS3 is already dwindling enough as it is and I just want to play.

^^^ What these boys said. I agree.

Also, I am still at the stage where clutching and/or carrying a match pleasantly strokes my e-boobs, so I'm still willing to don the backpack as needed.

Ok but i don't think you're going to carry anyone. From your spectre mastery social.bioware.com/n7hq/home/challenges/ , 15140342 points in 2221 waves = average ~80k per game. Decent player but not really a carrier.

lol..... not that I am an expert or something but how is this just 2221 waves which seems to be the "current" progress and completely ignoring the fact that s/he completed this mastery twice already so that's like 5000 waves plus 2221 and 50000000 points plus the current 15140342 points???

Not that it matters to me but I fail to see your logic.... am I missing something???

When you complete a challenge, all the sub challenges that meet the required number are reset. Spectre mastery requires ALL sub challenges to be done. This means if you finish spectre mastery, your points, waves and medals all go back to 0.

This also means that as long as you do not hit the maximum, 2.5 million points, 2500 waves, you can calculate a average points per wave. Wave 11 is not counted by yoiu can simply multiply by 11 to reach an average per game (unless you spawn nuke wave 11 every time to get tons of points which does not register) and the number is not exact which is why i normally round it up or add an additional 10%.

If you DO hit the maximum in points or waves, any calculation attempt will be greatly hampered as the guy might have accumulated 3 million points over 2000 waves but spectre mastery only lists 2.5 million points.

You can attempt to spin it by saying how you completed the previous masteries by maxing your points while you're waves were only halfway through and you're now playing in bronze and silver for challenges. But it does not negate the fact that CURRENTLY since the last spectre mastery completion, the points and waves stand as the do now.

ah.... thanks! still a bit weird way of gauging one's competence in the game if you ask me, since like you said the mastery may not provide a clear picture of scores per game.....

Its not a good way to gauge competence or wheteher a person can carry.  It doesnt factor in UU a score of 90k on a set map and enemey in gold is the same as a score of 126k in uug game due to the 40% difference in points.  Its also worrthless if you play different difficulties.  A platinum players will be higher a few sIlver games wil drop the avg.  This is why I keep mine private people are just so darn nosy anymore.

This.

Dear OP, it doesn't matter how badass you are, in a gold game, with a ****ty weapon and without any equipment put on you'll still suck. You'll become a burden to the team and therefore, you deserve a kick.

ArcaptSSX wrote...

When you are imposing yourself (yes, imposing) in a game you're not apt
for, it's like declaring to the other people in the lobby: "screw your
taste for that most pleasant aspect of the game".
Every legit gold player has a right to shove that declaration where it belongs.

And yeah, each time I see a cute little N720 with an awesome shuriken II hosting a gold lobby, I feel exactly the same. As if hosting a lobby gave you the right to impose yourself where you doesn't belong. I'll still give a try tougth, depending if the guy put some gear on. If not, I'll simply leave the lobby.

And to finish once and for all with your whining thread, OP, you doesn't sound like a rookie or even a noob player. At least, these guys try  their best to help the team and learn the game, even if they don't have a good loadout. I have respect for this kind of players and I won't kick them. They don't act like some shameless leecher, unlike you. They don't complain of arrogants frenchies preventing them to gain virtual credits, unlike you.

You only sound like an utter fool and therefore, you deserve to be eaten.

Regards,

An arrogant french elistist ******.

Gold is easy

There was a strange match last week in the early AM where the team took long minutes to get ready then the leader tried to kick me. I was playing a krogan soldier

I yelled at him and carried the team, then left since he was afking, something he wanted no doubt but then he obviously didn't know that there were gold pugs all day and night.  I immediately rejoined through quick game, they had wiped, I decided not to res and left again.  A good laugh.  A new game was found within 5 secs, as I had told them would happen.

These graduated silver players had not even been able to get a krogan soldier to excel in silver, something which had been easy since demo. Believable, but bad

Interestingly, he was the only pc player I've seen to use the new chat feature, something which I don't even know about

If a low rated player with no equipment on comes into a lobby I'm in I will kick em. Players like that just want to be carried, I ain't got time fo dat!

I'll leave, rather than kick. Although, time constraints being what they are, I've made exceptions - after sending someone a message or asking on the mic for them to consider Bronze/Silver. That tends to happen on Platinum, though, not Gold. On Gold, kicking is exceptionally rare, for me (unless your name is Goosh. :innocent:)

It's less of an issue on XBL, where I have an excellent manifest, and lots of resources. I can carry most Gold matches with at least 1 competent player in them.

On PSN, I'm at the mercy of what appear to be a large number of unprepared players... :(

When you have a lobby of predator i carrying puggernaughts trying to kick someone who has a decent looking loadout, you know it time for those other players to put the controller down and consider a career as a toilet cleaner.

So long as new players see other with hurricane x's they will abandon all logic and think they can carry a gold collector match. If this is you newbie guy, then this game isn't for you. Play FFXIII, as it requires no oxygen or intelligence to play.

I think the only reason I've ever kicked was to clear a spot for an incoming friend - even then I don't like to do it and try to ask them to leave first if possible. Otherwise, I really like bringing in low rank + equipment players on gold if they seem willing to at least try and participate - just not too many of them at once :)

You should expect a kick. That should be the norm. When someone allows you to stay, be grateful. You jumping into gold with N7 < 500 is a db move.

I didn't choose Quick Match, or create a public lobby to solo. If I'm with friends and there's just one new player, cool. Otherwise, out you go.
