You should expect a kick. That should be the norm. When someone allows you to stay, be grateful. You jumping into gold with N7 < 500 is a db move.

I kicked you.

My N7 is 240 and I play Gold all the time, so I must be a horrible person.

you horrible person... you should promote more you DB.

I'm British, so technically you should call me an A.H.

I kick almost no one until they have had a chance to prove themselves (potential missile glitchers don't get that chance). Once I have played a game with someone I only kick if they were completely useless, their mic was always on and super annoying, or if they were trying to be a dick to a newbie.

I'm curious OP -- how well have you been doing on gold on this 2nd account? Given your experience I'm thinking you should do better than the typical low level noob, right? I may be trying this out myself -- going on vacation and thinking to buy the game for a family member's XBox. Thought it'd be interesting to start over for a bit, see how I do.

You know, up to this moment I was about 95% able to be a supportive teamplayer in gold using my QMI with Valiant lvl1 and the right set of consumables and gear (I'm already up to 6 thermal clips, 4 missiles, 4 ops packs and 6 medigels - by buying the right packs in the store). And I have mostly been on 2nd or 3rd place on the scoreboard (over 100-120k), got 15 or more teammate revives in the game... so yeah, you can say I did support my team in the best way possible. Unlike the other guys I did go down by myself 2 times the highest in a gold match. I'm playing this game long enough to do well on gold - even with lower levels and un-maxed weapons. I'm not as good as Caineghis or Invader :(- but sure as hell better than the average player (thanks to my experience). I outscored high N7 levels (from 2000 to 6000 with high Challenge points) in gold matches - they were like: who the hell is this guy? Lol, so yeah, it's actually a lot of fun getting started with a new manifest and see how far you can come... :Dand as I experienced as "rookie", there are a lot of posers and jokes in this game (saying they are pro and I don't belong here in gold)... and then die quickly on the first waves and I had to pick them up. I nuked spawns, did the objectives, got 20 or more headshots a few times... experience does mean a lot in this game guys, even more than UR weapons or so-called "gold characters". And the other "real" rookies I played with: I cannot say 1 bad thing about them, they supported the team, missiled spawns as I did, revived teammates as I did, helped with the objectives as I did and gelled themself up when it was necessary. Clear message: the "noobs" as you call them - I found more decent players among them than on the so-called and self-declared "pro" guys! :wizard:

Just cuz I can carry doesn't mean I want to. I want an equally capable teammate, not someone who, at least on first impression, is unable to hold themselves up. Sorry, not a mind reader. I don't know your capabilities. The only indications of a decent/good player as such would be low N7 rank but high challenge points & good load-out strategies. If you don't meet that criteria, you would either get a kick or I leave & find another game. In my experience, anyone <N7120 doesn't belong on anything higher than silver. I've been more right than wrong using those filters.

I've been kicked for "low" N7 despite a high challenge score and good loadouts

So a potentially "bad" player might not get my sympathy

I support rookies. Except when they panic and shoot at me. And then they get shot. Then they die. Then I have to do the hack myself. Sadface.

Rookies are cool. I never kick them.

Top reasons people kick
1 they are incapable of carrying a match alone and clutching waves consistently
2 glicthers load out
3 friend joining
4 2 people kick voted you already they didn't want to be left out
5 not using consumables especially if its platinum
6 Not in mood to carry an n7 48 with shrirken 2 for 35 minutes in a platinum match

If its reason 2 shame on you. For all others so what just move on chances are if you were kicked the match was gonna fail anyway. Sooner or later you'll find someone's backpack to ride in.

Why assume the rookie wants to be in backpacks?

Wanting to be and needing to be aren't always the same.  98/100 n7s < 120 with common guns are gonna be carried on gold and have no business being there and they deserve to be kicked from platinum.

I'm still trying to figure out if promoting does anything other than effect e-peen length or e-boob cup size.

Question: For kicking because they aren't using consumables.  Do y'all consider character in that at all?

Because I'm not using ammo and amps when I'm playing a fury...cyclonic or the shield recharge speed consumables, definitely.  But ammo?  Nah.

Don't care if you're a noob or a veteran player on a new account. If you don't have a medi-gel cap of at least 5 (as the max was back in the days) don't come on gold or plat.

I don't mind carrying when people make a genuine effort. I just get annoyed when people can't gel because they didn't have enough to begin with.

Gel is the thing - not so much missiles.

These days noobs can earn good money because they tag onto gold matches. That's all well and good; all I ask is that people make a genuine effort instead of relying on people to break their backs and use up all their equipment.

I just leave platinum if things don't look like they're going to add up. Gold, I don't care so much.

Your fault for starting a second account.

Most people would just like a smooth game and if they see someone who is fairly new to the game and they can't be bothered to carry them, well tough luck.

If you really want to play Gold/Plat then play with a mate who won't kick you

Wanted to kick some dude playing a Turian sentinel with a Phaeston II on gold, it didn't happen, and then I actually felt bad for the guy, while scored low he took care of himself, hardly ever died, overall was much better than i had expected. I just felt like crap for trying to kick him.

I don't think LegionofRannoch was being entirely serious, but for arguements sake you can promote to:

1) Increase your war assets in Single player (as if it matters)

2) complete the N7 mastery challenge

3)Respec a character if you are out of respec cards (this is the only reason my N7 isn't 120)

Or just for e-peen. whatever suits.

Maybe I'm just lucky enough not to run into many idiots, but I don't think I've ever been kicked for having a low N7.

I carried 3 rookies on almost each wave the other night until i bled out on wave 9 after using all my medigels.. It didn't bother me much <_< but bck in the lobby i decided to give them 1 more game anyway so i selected my QME and equipped Incendiary ammo IV for a fire explosion fest but straight away 2 of them decided to kick me . I didn't wait for the 3rd cross to appear so i left them in their sad, pathetic noobiness and went looking for players who appreciate other players gearing up..

If I have a buddy with me, I don't kick (unless it's a destroyer with a striker), because I know we can duo it in our sleep. Little more picky on Platinum though, just because consumables are expensive and I'm cheap, haha.

If I'm not hosting, I'll just leave. But if I am hosting I'm confident in my ability to carry the team. But I've played like 1 PUG game in the last month cause I pretty much only solo/duo/play with full premades now. I have better things to do than to play with morons and post screenshots of those games

On Gold, everybody will have the benefit of a doubt for the first game. If the do reasonably well or at least I can see that they try, they can stay. If they leech (like dying within 30 sec of each wave by running into a spawn) they will get the kick for the next game.

On Plat I will not take chances because I do not enjoy games with +45 min where I have to clutch more then one wave.

The main problem with clutching seems to be that once you have done this many ppl get sloppy, stop using consumables and expect you to do it every wave from there on...

My N7 is still less than 120, but I've never been kicked. Not even from Gold, and I've PuGed Gold quite a few times. I've had a couple of lobbies try and kick me, but they gave up when the third player wouldn't do it. The funny part is, the kickers are the ones I always end up reviving and outscoring.

Before I had my medigel cap up to 5, I was definitely struggling to get through later Waves in Gold, but I never felt like I failed to carry my weight, and any vets with me in their PuG lobby were content to have me there. If they felt I wasn't doing my part, they never said anything about it.

I'm not a rookie, as in the thread title. I had to start over on PS 3, but I had quite a lot of playing time on Xbox last year. I see lots of solid play from low N7s, and lots of incompetent play from high N7s. N7 reflects experience, but it certainly doesn't tell you about a players' skill, or whether they are capable improving with that experience.

Why is this even a question and why didn't OP get shredded on the first page of the thread?

What is wrong with not wanting to play with someone in the team who will obviously not only not help, but even make the game harder? (by dieing and bleeding out you leave less people to complete the hack and it will therefore take longer with less people) Of course I kick *sswipes who will only fail around! How can you expect people to do your work?!

It's fun seeing how high your score can go with three decoys, though. At least for a while. ^_^
