With the benefit of hindsight I can now say that I'd rather have waited with playing Mass Effect 3 untill after all the DLC and fixes were released. With the next installment of Mass Effect (x) will you wait for a year or throw yourself back into the fray from the onset(release)?
Will you wait?

I'm taking the wait and see approach. After Mass Effect 2 and how much I really enjoyed that one I was left disappointed by ME3. Oh the combat was finetuned even more, I can't imagine playing the game without the ability to roll...but really some of the writing and "for the sake of the plot" retardation, the really lackluster rival/semi-main villain, the whole final priority mission and total hackjob of an ending that itself required an entire DLC to only mostly fix, how critical plot elements were missing from the base game and required more money to access in the form of yet another DLC...
Yeah, wait and see for me. BioWare recently stated that they've learned alot of lessons, I want to see which ones they took to heart before I commit any funds for a future adventure.

I will at least wait till player reviews come out, ME3 left a bad taste in my mouth and tbh I could have waited for it to get cheaper, unlike Bioshock Infinite which I also got on release day, and was glad to pay full price.

I waited for all the DLC to come out for ME2 and ME 3 before buying. However I didnt get any DLC for ME3 cos I was dissapointed by the starchild, and didnt think a game with him as the ending was worth any more of my money.
Also the DLC was too expensive.

No. Mass Effect 3 was awesome. It is my favorite of the series. From watching the Earth get burned to a cinder to deciding the fate of the galaxy the game did not let me down. When Mass Effect: First Contact comes out I will be waiting in line and counting the seconds to midnight.

If the combat is as good as ME3 then yes. I just hope they make a game with a better ending (eg I don't die)

As I rule, I tend to wait a few months before considering purchases anyway. I don't see that changing.

I'm definitely waiting to see reviews and possibly even spoil the ending for myself on youtube before I decide to buy it. I just can't take another massive disappointment like the ME3 ending, and my wallet can't either.

I'll wait for them to fix the ending of Mass Effect 3 before I spend my money on anything else BioWare. It isn't like I can't find another use for my dollars in the meantime....

I'll handle the situation like I do all of my game purchases: wait and see what the story, atmosphere, and gameplay will be like, then determine whether I'll pick it up sooner or later---or at all. More than likely later, since I do that with 80-90% of the games I purchase.
I very rarely make uninformed decisions, but I also don't hold petty creative grudges.

Day one. I'm a horrible person with a horrible addiction. There just aren't any other companies that make really good RPGs.

It'd take a really, really bad reveal trailer, or a switch in genres, to stop me from buying it on the first day. Mass Effect commands that kind of power over me. I'm not into waiting months or years on end to save thirty bucks.

I rarely buy the full game day one, and after ME3's fiasco, I'll likely wait a few weeks to see if all is well.

I'll wait a while and see what the players think of it first.. and then i'll consider it.

As I do with anything else, I will take the wait and see approach. I liked all ME games. So I don't hold grudges of any kind, and I certainly won't act as some butthurt primadonna: "never going to buy anything from them ever again blahblah...", but I'm not going to buy it without getting familiar with it a bit. If I like what I see, I will buy it, if not, I'll leave it. I'm not a devoted Bioware fan... never was, never will be. Actually the first time I heard of them was two year ago.

I will more than likely preorder the game and if there is a collectors edition I might purchase that as well.
I enjoy playing the games that Bioware has developed. I don't expect that to change any time soon.

Will not preorder it and if it requifes Origin I will not buy it at all, ME3 was my first and last Origin game.
There are ... other ways to play ME4, Origin is a costant pain in the bum.

LOL Love it. Speculate this BW!
But for me, I am done with the MEU. ME4 will be plenty successful without my money. With the ending the way it is I am done with this universe. I have come to a point where I can love most of the universe and what I have but I have no wish to continue to adventure in a universe where my end moments in game is losing said game.
I may purchase DA I or a different Bioware game in a different universe after spoiling the end and the game immensely. Bioware has stated if you don't like the direction of ME3 or DA2 then maybe they don't make games for you anymore.
I took their point and shall do something about it. Namely make sure the game was made for my general gaming enjoyment before giving my money to their company. I expect a game to be enjoyable beginning to end and make me want to play again, not make me physically ill and then angry and depressed afterward.

If its a prequel it might be like the new God of War and Gears of war games, nobody cares.Sure a few die hard fans may buy it but the vast majority of people won't care.
Wait what was my point?

Well.... I'll wait for the Player Reviews... then I'll wait until it drops to 20 bucks and I'll buy if its good. Then if I enjoyed it I'll buy the next installment after that at full price again after reading players reviews and spoiling myself the story ahead of time. If it sucks I skip it entirely.
