Sometimes you don't have much space to pass through and get cover/use instead of running.

Other times you want cover and pass over it, exposing yourself.

It occurs even more at laggy moments.

Near of a banshee or in the line of sight of a scion, for example, it can be fatal.

It wouldn't forbid set the same key for whom prefers it.

P.S.: Pass over obstacles and dodge associated to the run command.

if you are on pc here's a thread on separating your run/use/cover keys.

but you can still get sucked into cover if you get too close to it while running so narrow paths can still be problematic

Closer enemies, specially bosses, can turn paths into narrow ones.

Yes they can, which makes it harder to pass, which is a part of the game. So that's actually working as intended.

They were already separate keys in ME2. Don't know why they took a step backward like that...

Then again, ME3 does at least have menus that aren't totally useless to the colour blind, and has much better mouse support...

Yes, we need this in the next game.
Needed it in this one, tbh... But on the whole this was a great first effort.

In ME1 you took cover automatically by touching a wall.

That would sitr up some angry threads on BSN if multiplayer worked that way.

Would there be enough buttons on console to do that though?

I don't know why they didn't simply use the L3 button for sprinting. The R3 button is also unused.

I kinda dont like using the L3 and R3 buttons a lot of the time when i play games on console. Usually i'll react to something, and accidentily click one of them and activate something i didnt want to.

Though sprint is the exception, because it usually doesnt matter if you sprint accidentily, and it's easily fixed. But I constantly accidentily crouch in Borderlands 2 while i'm making a jump or in a fight, and it slows my movement speed and messes me up.

I was asking if there are enough on console?  I play on PC and mash the keyboard with my face and win every time.

not really.
but it dose make sense to give pc that, they have enough buttons. cod4 pc allowed you to use cover......:?
its understanable for pc has some advantages, pc are always gonna be more hassle but more reward.

I couldn't agree more that challenging is good.

But the same command for "stop" (use/cover) and run (opposite actions) isn't actually "working as intended" for me.

Yeah, that's pretty much the strategy. I don't think there would be enough buttons on console. Unless they gave some buttons dual functions, and used the L1 or R1 bumpers as modifiers. Honestly, i have no idea what the keybindings are on console. Haha.

It is kinda tricky, but i never had too bad of a problem with it. I like it sometimes, because i can vault cover without moving my finger from the sprint button. I do wish that the sprint and dodge buttons were different, because a lot of the time i'll try to dodge right after sprinting, and just end up running more, which isn't nearly as effective.

"A button to rule them all" remains as one of the biggest game issues for me.

Instead of run, you frequently stop to get cover or to revive a team mate.

It is annoying and sometimes deadly.

ME4 should solve that.

Don't you just hate it when you are trying to stick to a wall but you revive a teammate instead?

I know I do.

I love it when I'm trying to revive a teammate but my character dives and rolls around and bounces in and out of cover on top of my teammate's body until they bleed out.
