First one with the army guys is not fake, actually there are just two of them with one biting and clamping at the abdomen of the other.

These creatures are called Solifuges or Camel Spiders, Sun Spiders/Sun Scorpions, Wind Scorpions. They have attributes from spiders and scorpions and can be found in arid and warm locations. They achieved interwebs fame because of untrue rumors about their size, speed and lethality.

In real they are pretty harmless. Worked with some a few years ago.

Pretty much what I meant by that photo being "fake". They're exaggerated into a creature that doesnt exist. Camel spiders are pretty small.

Perhaps the "even worse" creatures are giant spider broodmother-in-laws?

Anyway, I heard that the general advice for men is not to sit down on any public lavatory anywhere in Australasia because deadly spiders can hide in the bowl or rim.

Honestly... After facing the Chaurus in Skyrim, the Cazadores and Radscorpions in Fallout, the Tortoise boss from Contra Shattered Soldier, the Marilyn Manson broodmother from Awakening, the black headcrabs from Half Life 2 and the Endrega on Witcher 2... Spiders aren't that bad :3

PS: I am arachnophobic and forced myself to play Dark Messiah (Those who played know what I'm talking about). >_>

Ah yes, trying to get past that first cave with all the spiders flying at your screen was a nightmare.
So was it over after that? Of course not. You enter a giant well and see lots of giant spiders climbing down the wall against you... I almost quit playing there and then.

Great memories.

WTF?

If you realy want to  I found a picture of the Spider Queen that looks like a Broodmother had a child with a Corrupted Spider (that will stay in my nightmares for some time), but it's a little to mature, and I'm not about to get flaged.
Also, the origin Spider Queen is from Roman/Greek mythology and not a very long read if you google it

It would be nice if they had them to have something like the bear patch for Skyrim. I have watched arachnophobes play the Dragon Age series. It's amusing and horrible all at the same time. I'm all for a little mercy.

Australia is not that bad for nasty critters, as long as you're careful in the bush and at certain beaches at certain seasons. I certainly prefer the local fauna to those fish that will swim into your eurethra, their cousins that will bore into your skin and eat you from the inside, those flies that lay eggs on your skin whose maggots then live in you until they hatch or that parasite that burrows to your brain and forms cysts that will kill you or require surgery that will kill you.

This is a Goblin Shark, enjoy your nightmares. Posted Image

Well, all I know is, the most dangerous critter I will have to deal with here is the occasional chip stealing seagul.

I really like spiders in real life and I feel bad killing em in games. Like most people feel when they kill a puppy in a game.

It's giant scorpions isn't it. My arachnophobia was just fine with spiders but nooo, third game says there needs to be the full kit and kaboodle of eight legged creepy crawlies. Might as well throw in giant ticks and cover every last base.
