Today I have shed my noob title once and for all and graduated to the rank of lift grenade spammer extraordinaire. I put on my tryhard pants, equipped my single precious level IV incendiary ammo that I'd been saving for an emergency, and let the AT-12 Raider and Asari Vanguard work their magic. This is my second complete gold solo:

For this solo, I utilized the BSN exclusive ability "Clever use of Gameplay Mechanics" to its fullest extent, including the lolpc special running packages (headfirst into dragoons and turrets) and the lesser known asari-dodging out of area hack circles (and I even managed to goof that up by going back into the hack circle).

I hate the Raider - and you only have it at lvl 2. But the asari vanguard is hands-down my favourite character.

Attempted a couple of gold solos a few weeks ago with the asari vanguard against cerberus on White, got executed by phantoms on waves 8 and 9, really annoying. But she's very powerful, her lift grenades are ridiculous, I only used my weapon (disciple) for atlases.

Very few things clear out a room faster than a lift grenade, it's one of the only things aside from a cobra missile that I've killstreaked with

I'm surprised more people don't solo with the asari guard, actually, especially those with Grenade Gear

Well, when you put it like that...

I've never soloed gold on my own before, but this sounds tempting enough for me to swallow my fear for half an hour (or however long it takes?)

I'd say definitely give it a try. In all honesty I thought this was much easier than the krogan warlord vs. geth solo I did for my very first gold solo, maybe even easier than some of the solo silvers I did to prepare for doing gold 

I think the biggest threat cerberus/gold has is phantoms... and there's not much they can do about stasis plus a lift grenade or shotgun to the face.

My platinum solo vid ... is going to take a while to be ready, platinum scares me.  

Maybe I'll do it when I get to 200 hours played 

But I will definitely do it, just haven't decided what set up I will use yet.
