Nope.
NONONONONONONO.
No. Nooo. No. No. No.
Videogames are not more important than personal safety.
Even as a joke, that is one terrible joke.

Very sage, and true.
Always assess the situation with all attention it deserves and most importantly stay safe.
EDIT: P.S But to be fair to OP there's no harm in letting steam off AFTER the event as well as having a bit of laugh about it.

I'm not joking. The epicentre was in another city nearby, not directly under mine, so it wasn't catastrophic.
That said, there's not a lot you can do during an earthquake if you're in a building. Most guidelines say get down, get under furniture and protect your neck; there's nothing in the vicinity I can get under without running from room to room (not a good idea), so I just hunched over a bit and kept playing. Besides, the quake lasted maybe 20 seconds and it took about five to understand what was happening - they sort of build up, crescendo, then fade.
At any rate, I'm not recommending that people ignore pressing real world emergencies to get that hack objective done. I found it odd to gauge my reaction and wondered if other people had found themselves in odd situations like that while playing ME3. The closest previous experience I'd had to that was when a big spider jumped down next to my keyboard while playing. (I freaked out and squealed like a schoolgirl.)

I see. Well as long as you value yer life more. Being in Finland we don't have earthquakes due to the geographical plates of the planet not colliding anywhere near us and...
wait....

MOTHER OF GODS!
I freak out with a spider the size of a damn pin ******... yet they're peaceful little buggers... I still freak out.

Seriously, good thing you´re ok. No idea what that would feel like, we had a 5.9 in 1992 around 3 am, also slept through it. Next day at school all my friends were totally freaking out and I was just like "what the hell are you all talking about?" We usually don´t have recognizable earthquakes around here.

Way to go!
Glad your building didn't fall, too.

We've got peaceful but giant wolf spiders like that here, too. They scare the crap out of me. I see one on the street and it's a guaranteed nightmare.
And sadly, it was Hydra, not a hazard match. Would've made sense. Honestly, the earthquake was way easier to play around than the lag or being Volus shield locked.

Australian master race doesn't have to worry about earthquakes
Neither does South African master race
At OP - glad you're okay, hope that doesn't happen again any time soon!
