I'm supposed to investigate the towers and the pointer has me on this computer to be hacked.  Upon reading the various walkthroughs it appears that I have to hack this thing in order to complete the horizon level.  This particular mini game is beyond me.   I have tried over and over and can't do these ones.  If it is, in fact, required in order to complete the horizon mission then I'm pretty much up the proverbial creek without the paddle.

Is this a stopper for me or am I missing something?

It is not supposed to be any more difficult than the other hacking games.

I don't think I made myself clear. On this particular type hacking I have been unable to complete any of them. In the past it hasn't mattered because all I lose is some stuff that I can do without. However, you need to hack this particular computer in order to move on in the game and my hand eye coordination is not up for the task.

Which hacking game is that?
Is it the match-four icons, or is it the match three lines of code?

I would say both are fairly easy. For the icons, just roll your mouse (or gamepad thumbstick) over an icon to see what it is, then roll over the other icons to find its twin, then click both.

For the matching code, it is just a matter of patience and waiting to get a matching line of code to appear.

You can also buy a Bypass Module upgrade from Harrot's shop on Omega to increase the amount of bypass time if you are having an inordinate amount of trouble with the hacking minigames.

It is the matching code. At this point I would have to back to a previous save to go buy the module you're talking about and I can't tell for sure which line of code matches the one in the upper left corner so it's kind of hit and miss. In ME1 you could use the omnigel to bypass them but in this game there is no bypass. It wouldn't be a problem except that I can't proceed in the game unless I hack this computer and I can't seem to hack this computer. Unless there is a way to proceed without hacking the computer but there doesn't seem to be. I wish there was a cheat to get me by this particular spot. I have the console enabled but can't seem to find a command to bypass these damn mini games. Thanks for taking the time to respond though. I appreciate it.

I too had problems with the lines of code, since I have rather poor eyesight. But, I found that if I paid attention to the general overall "shape" of the code, and the colors, I could get it right. Are you on a PC or xBox? I have used both for this game, so I might be of some assistance. Have not played on the PS3.

I'm on the PC and by the time I recognize a line of text and think it might match it has already scrolled by. I wish the game programmers had kept the omnigel bypass as was in ME1 at least for necessary hacking like this one.

Hm, you're not trying to use the mouse are you? I don't even know if you can. I just go with color patterns myself. Haven't missed one in ages like that. The only other way is to send a trusted person your save file and have them get you past the door.

Thank you all for your kind remarks and help. I was finally able to get a trainer working which by passed the Mini Games and have now moved on. It relieves the frustration.

Thanks again all.
