I know its a largly personal preferance thing but im drawing a real blank on what to pick for a new play through ( Just ME3 ) Imported save from 2

I love sentinal... but sadly i have played the death outa that class once through ME2 and again first time with ME3 and then again with newgame+ ME3

Is there any other class that plays similar to sentinal. I love the whole Power Combo system.

Just lookin for some input on a fun class as really all ive played in most Mass Effect games apart from 1 , is Sentinal :P

Include weapon selection and bonus powers if you wish.

Depends on how you played your Sentinel.

The Adept would be the next closest thing to the Sentinel. Familiar powers would be Warp and Throw. The Adept also has grenades (Cluster Grenades instead of Lift Grenades). Adept also has Singularity and Pull. Ignore Shockwave.

Good Adept bonus powers would be Fortification (for maximum power damage and damage reduction) or Warp Ammo for it extra damage to enemies affected by biotics ("Lifted Targets"). Or you could go Energy Drain for the Sentinel feel, but by that point I would just recommend using the Sentinel again instead.

Use whatever weapon(s) you like. Since you can detonate biotics as long as the biotic priming power is still active, cooldown is not as big as issue for the Adept as it would be for the Engineer. So depending on how fast you want your cooldowns, you can afford to have around a +100% weapon weight.

Don't ignore Shockwave.   Shockwave goes straight thru doors, and can clear some places entirely without the enemy even getting a chance to fire a shot....

The only place that applies is on Mars. And Liara can pretty much clear that place out on her own.

I second the vote for Adept, its all about the power combos. Warp + Throw is still good for bosses, but Adept can spam Pull + Throw for faster combos to clear out trash mobs, which is the way I prefer to play it. Singularity is good for more crowd control but it overlaps Pull so much that I usually only take one of the them.

Engineer is also a great choice for combo spam, and brings fire explosions that you pobably didn't see much of as a Sentinel. Alternating Incinerate and Overload can lead to long chains of fire explosions and tech bursts. Add in Sabotage, with the tech damage evo, and watch your power damage skyrocket.

Shockwave is also great on Cerberus HQ, Citadel Coup & DLC, and doesn't stop when it hits one enemy.

Up to 2.6m wide and/or 15m long, it isn't a laughing matter.  With proper specs, anything staggered with a shockwave hit will remain staggered.  It also is a detonator for biotic and tech explosions.

Personally, I think that Warp Ammo is the weakest Biotic power.  But a power that has NO cooldown isn't anything to sneeze at, either.

I used Shockwave extensively on my first Vanguard playthrough. The biggest problem with Shockwave is its unreliability. 10 to 15 meters is still not enough distance at times to hit what you want, and even 2.6m radius is still not wide enough to hit a moving enemy. And enemies within the path of Shockwave can still not get hit by it if they are between the "waves".

Not to mention that the Lifting Shockwave evolution is limited to only one target, so if you lift one target and hit another, the other enemy will not be lifted.

Compare that to Throw which is much faster, can travel farther, can lock on to a target, and has a much quicker cooldown. No contest, really.

As for Warp Ammo, Warp Ammo is an ammo power, not a biotic power. Warp Ammo also provides a damage bonus if it hits enemies affected by biotics as well as extra damage to health and armor (or armor weakening), so while you are on cooldown after casting a biotic power, Warp Ammo will increase your weapon efficiency. Note that its damage to Lifted Targets (enemies affected by biotics) appears to be bugged in single player, in that it does not appear to deal as much damage to Lifted Targets as expected. But it certainly does give you a passive bonus and does not waste a cooldown.

And the Power Damage bonuses in your passive and Power Amplifier weapon mods for Pistols and SMGs will increase the damage done by ammo powers as well, including Warp Ammo.

Shockwave Adept was frustrating for me. I wouldn't recommend anyone use Shockwave unless they want it for the novelty. And even then, I enjoyed all my other goofy novelty characters more than the Shockwave Adept.

I'd say try the adept for a spin because its a quite a veratile class and it can set up and detonate BEs in different ways and I like the adept because you can play it different ways how you want to deal with weak mooks and bosses.

My favourite way of dealing with trash mobs reave and cluster although they're not the easiest to grenades throw and does take some time to get used but its so satisfying when you perfectly land a cluster grenade right at their feet and hearing the multiple BEs. I do occasionally use pull and throw but reave and cluster is what I usually use to get rid of basic enemies.

Yeah, this is really what it comes down to for me. Not only Throw but most of the Adept's powers do the same things Shockwave does, CC and/or detonate, but  does them better. On its own its a decent enough power but its just so vasty overshadowed by the rest of the powerset that it becomes almost pointless.
