So starting with last september I decided to slowly make my playthrough through the trilogy again(i beat 1/2 coundless times and 1-3 three times). During this long stretch of sparinly making my way through the games in the limited free time i have and between playing other titles, all of the DLC finally came out. I was skeptical about buying any dlc because we all know how EA overprices and milks as much money it can out of its customer, but I just played through Leviathan and must say I was very amazed by it.

Idk if Leviathan was necessarily THAT good but it was the first time since the extended cut came out that I was discovering new Mass Effect matterial. All this got me Excited for ME4 for the very first time because despite how it pretty much became a forgotten series to me, I remembered how amazing the Mass Effect Universe is.

As much as I'm unhappy with the ME3 ending, I don't think there will be a "final" trilogy play through for me, at least not any time soon.

I'm doing my final play through of the trilogy (currently almost mid way through ME2) before I take a break and try a few other games. I figure it will take a few months to play those, and maybe then I'll do another ME play through.

The Mass Effect universe is a hard one to give up.

Isn't it! Heck, I have a long standing rule that once I'm finished with a game, I leave the forums. No matter how active I've been in them...and there are forums I was MUCH more active then this one. But game over? Me gone. Bye bye. Not this one though. It just keeps drawing me back in. I have a couple of games lined up, and once they're down the pipe it's back to ME. Unless DA3 or ME4 comes out first. Ironically, one of the games in the pipe is Baldur's Gate 2...it may have taken close to 15 years, but it finally dragged me back <LOL>.

I personally think that all of the DLC for ME3 is worth it, especially is you like(d) the universe and are excited to experience new material. It seems like the most questionable piece for most people, however, is Omega.

That said, I can't seem to bury ME either. And I don't think there's a reason I should.

I replay the trilogy every summer. In the times before and after, those are for my other games. But all summer is Mass Effect season (:

I just did a complete trilogy play through (including all the DLC and planet scanning). It only took about 2 weeks.

I'm currently playing a refined, polished version of my personal canon renegade Femshep, Svetlana. ( I used to call her Veronica). I'm in ME2 at the moment, as an Infiltrator sniper specialist; Assassin 4, Tungsten Ammo 4, Cloak 4, Incinerate 4 and AI Hacking 4. Rachni dead, Alenko dead, Council dead, Legion to Cerberus, Grunt left in the tank (I may open him up to die in the suicide mission, but even a disloyal Grunt is hard to get killed in the SM.) Thane will die on the collector base to avoid his awful cutscene death in ME3. I've taken almost every renegade option except for a few interrupts (Quarian in the wards for one) and plan to save the collector base.

This will set up a ME3 playthrough to sabotage Wreav's genophage cure, kill the geth VI (I really hope no one says Legion, as he will be shipped off without being activated), put down Ash after the coup and while generally oppose TIM because of his inderptrination still hold Cerberus' goals as her own and embrace a renegade control. The only real reason I'm leaving grunt behind in ME2 is that I feel stupid when playing an anti-Krogan Shepard who is really chummy with Grunt. Svetlana may be a cold hearted results at any cost ****, but she won't smile at you and shake your hand while stabbing you in the back. You'll always know where you stand with her.

I don't think this will be my 'final' playthrough, but my definitive femshep renegade playthrough.

(As I've played ME2 20 times, I use gibbed to give myself 500000 of each resource because I hate planet scanning, and I just know where all the side quests are by heart. I'd rather drive the Mako than do that scanner mini game again.)

I'm playing my second and final play-though (1, 2 and 3). Including all the DLC's. It's not the ending, or the bugs that nag me. It's the emotional toll. I'm playing again to correct the mistakes I made the first ride. Simply because I feel "connected" to these virtual characters. And I feel like, I almost owe it to them.

For what's it worth, and if Bioware is reading: despite the bugs, questionable endings (and this includes the fan made Happy Ending) and plot lines - this is one of the best games (and I'm counting all 3 and the DLC's) I've ever played. And the saddest; the most painful; and the happiest.

I'm 49 years old. Been gaming since the early 80's. And I expected to come into the ME universe shooting and killing everything in sight. I'm glad i was surprised.

After 8 playthroughs of 2 and 3, it's over...just finished my last one tonight. I have been emotionally invested in this series for 2 to 3 years and for it to be over...it will be hard to swallow for a while, but in the end, it had to happen. I feel like I've done all I can with them over all my playthroughs.

To quote elrofrost from above: "For what's it worth, and if Bioware is reading: despite the bugs, questionable endings (and this includes the fan made Happy Ending) and plot lines - this is one of the best games (and I'm counting all 3 and the DLC's) I've ever played. It was an amazing ride, "the best"...I might come back to it one day, but not for the foreseeable future. Best. Games. I've. Ever. Played

I only started playing a few months ago, and I've only really gone through 2 Shepards, so no doubt I'll be playing the entire trilogy for a good while longer. I share GoldenChicken's sentiment about this being one of the best games I've ever played.

I am in my final playthrough, at least for 2013. Right now curing genophage.

Now that scene of Citadel: Where Shepard says, "the best" as the crew boards the Normandy - that got me. I managed to hold it together throughout the series. Except for those two words.

Those two words sum up the entire journey we've been through...when I heard it this time round, I nearly burst into tears

When Mordin died, I nearly burst into tears
Having to take Tali back to the ship and leave her with Kaiden whilst I ran to the beam...I nearly cried there too.

Such a great emotional ride, like I have always said...one I will never forget. Scenes that make me cry. Scenes that make me laugh...especially the Krogan Body Slam in the Citadel, or Mordin's unconcerned response when meeting Javik for the first time..."A Prothean? Excellent"

Well done Bioware, well done

We play games to be entertained. A few hours of mindless blasting away of enemies to waste time and relax. Did any of us really expect, for apx 60 bucks a pop, THIS much emotional investment? The game makes you laugh, cry, it makes you angry enough to almost throw your computer out the window (the events in-game...not the occasional bugs. Though those to..). I teared up when Mordin said, "I would have liked to catalogue seashells." and takes the elevator to his death. I was horrorstruck when I watched the video on youtube of what happens when Shep betrays him. That people could MAKE that decision...and much worst....that people could WRITE that scene. It was like a punch in the gut. And this is coming from a 25 yr veteran of the exciting world of law enforcement.

Hell. All I know is I disdain the wearing of jewelry, but now I want a 'WWSD'* wristband. How's that for a game? Even after playing, it makes you want to rise to the occasion in real life.

*What would Shepard do?"

Well you better get "unexcited" for Mass Effect 4 because there isn't going to be one.

There's a lot of pain, love, sadness, and laughter in these games. I didn't expect any of it when I picked them up 2 months ago. And I don't regret a thing. All 3 games and the DLC' s were an experience I'll remember for a while.

I've just started ME3 for the last time. I replayed 1 & 2 managing to correct most of my mistakes. I can finish 3 feeling good I managed to save everyone.

I don't mind that there might not be an ME4...after all, this trilogy we have been given was amazing, and anything else that comes under the ME franchise won't be as epic as what we have had.

I think ME 1-3 should be the legacy of what has been an amazing gaming franchise.
