I couldn't play ME as a male character because of his voice, just like I couldn't play DA2 as a male character because of male Hawke's voice. BioWare always seems to get the voices right for male companions, but when it comes to a male PC...

I'd support Jennifer Hale for femInquisitor though. She has a great voice.

I always found that odd, because I had that same reaction to femShep. Hale's a great voice actress (I particularly enjoyed her performance for Bastila Shan), but her femShep made it extremely difficult to get through a single playthrough. I thought Meer did a much better job for Shepard. He had some great moments in ME3 and Citadel, and the majority of his performance works better as a blank slate, insert your own personality here type of character that Shepard represents. Mainly, it was that I always play nice, amiable characters and femShep never gave me that option, even with pure Paragon choices, i.e. while Hale's femShep may have generally more expressive and emotive than Sheploo, that expression was one I didn't like (the nicest femShep was still an ****). I'd only support Hale as femInquisitor if she didn't repeat femShep and half of the SWtOR femTrooper.

He already voiced one DA protagonist, at least for those of us who played an experienced elf. =]

He actually voiced most fo the DAO male protagonist voice sets. Seems like few people are aware of this small little fact.

Source? That's not what the DA Wiki and IMDB says.

I'd rather have someone else voice the lead role, but I wouldn't mind him as a companion.I would love to boss him around while he uses his Shepard voice >:D

There is something about Meer's broShep that I never really liked, but I love his NPC characters.

He's done work in DA:O and Awakenings.  I still think he is better at NPC characters than being a lead.

No I'll be always thinking why is Shepard here

As much as I loved him in ME it would be semi-imersion breaking to hear shepard every other dialogue line in DA. Not to mention since the writers love easter eggs and allusions, he would say some random iconic line that is shepards and it would completely break immersion.
"I'm the chief inquisitor and this is my favorite shop in the castle!"

I wouldn't mind him being a side character (not companion), maybe a midpoint antagonist. He hasn't played a bad guy so far as i know, might be fun :)

Yeah, I think maleHawke's voice actor did really well with the sarcastic personality. I thought he was better than femHawke in that regard.

I loved sarcastic MHawke. He's also pretty badass when he's aggressive.

I think Mark Meer will have a very small role in DA:I he's been in a lot of bioware games and if anything he'd probably voice the rage demons again. He shouldn't be the main protagonist though that go to someone with a natural French accent or at least one can hope.

Male Hawke was perfect. Female Hawke was too monotonous in her performance so all my playthroughs after that were male only.

And no to Mark Meer being the male lead. You guys already had him for three games. Time to have a new VA.

 I didn't find Jo monotone at all.

Jo is half the reason DAII was the first Bioware game I ever played where I only created female characters.

I don't think he will voice the protagonist in DA:I. Voicing 2 main roles, in 2 big games developed by the same company, not very likely. They tend to switch the voice actors for protagonist between games to avoid confusion. If he voiced someone in DA:I, it would more likely be a minor role instead. Anyhow, there are plenty of good voice actors / actresses out there. Personally I think it would be awesome if they hire some veteran voice actors / actresses for the main roles. Like David Hayter or Troy Baker for Male and Jen Taylor or Ellen McLain for Female.
