Remember Me Official Trailer UK
Remember Me Live Action Trailer UK
Since I really don't want to spam the Remember Me trailer thread with reviews I decided to create another one and update the OP as newer reviews surface.
Development
Remember Me is a game developed by Dontnod Entertainment. Development started back in 2008 and, at the time, the game was called Adrift, where the main theme was global warming and the key mechanic was using jetskis to get from point A to point B. The game was co-developed with Sony and intended as a PS3 exclusive title but the project was cancelled in February 2011. At some point, the game was rebuilt around the concept of memory but I'm unsure whether that was before or after its cancellation. After some barriers encountered with publishers that insisted on having a male lead Capcom picked it up and turned it into a multi-platform title.
Premise

From the official site comes this rather sparse description:
Neo-Paris, 2084. Take on the role of Nilin, a former elite memory hunter with the ability to break into people’s minds and steal or even alter their memories. Arrested, and with her memory wiped clean Nilin must now set out on a mission to rediscover her identity.
The premise is intriguing, but will it deliver?
Gameplay

Gameplay can be summed up as follows:
- Martial Arts Combos: You can create and customize combos in the Combo Lab by choosing from 4 families (Regen, Power, Chain, and Cooldown) of combat moves called Pressens. You can only have 4 combos active at a time. There are also special moves called S-Pressens that allow you to stun groups of enemies, move at high speeds, etc.
- Platforming: A lot of Assassin's Creed's climbing on buildings and jumping from ledges but with little to none of its freedom. Seriously, there are orange arrows showing you the way.
- Memory stealing: Basically, you steal memories from certain people. At the very least it'll allow you to navigate though previously hidden dangers.
- Memory remixing: Probably the coolest feature of the game, you get to play a subject's memory and tweak it in little ways so that you can replace the previous memory with a new one, effectively manipulating the subject into reacting in a certain manner. The downside is that there's apparently only four instances of memory remixing in the entire game.
- New Game Plus: "Once you complete Remember Me you can replay the game from the start with all the combos you unlocked, although you won't gain any further experience unless you chain together longer combinations."
Reviews
A lot of reviews have surfaced already. I'll update as I'm able.
- IGN - 5.9/10 - "Big ideas abound in Remember Me, creating an intriguing, beautiful world but the game itself is very forgettable."
- CVG - 7/10 - "Pedestrian gameplay in an extraordinary city."
- ThisisXbox - 8.5/10 - "…A stunning view from the future, Neo Paris 2084 will never be forgotten…"
- CramGaming - 7/10 - "Sexy looks but lacking in performance."
- Eurogamer Portugal - 7/10 - "Diferente, por vezes surpreendente, mas demasiado curto e ligeiro." ("Different, at times surprising, but too short and easy.")
- Eurogamer.net - 7/10 - "The result is a game that a small number of people will rightly love and cherish, but overall it's an uneven experience - one that feels like it knows what it wants to be, but has resigned itself to existing in a world where it can't quite get away with it."
- GameReactor Denmark - 6/10 - "Franske Dontnod byder på en farverig fremtidsdystopi, der desværre misser målet på enkelte, vigtige punkter." ("French Dontnod offers a colourful future dystopia, which unfortunately misses key, important points.")
NOTE: I don't know Danish so it's a rough translation. Feel free to correct me. It's also important to note that GameReactor Sweden and GameReactor Germany gave it 7/10 and 8/10 respectively (if I understood it correctly).
- GamingTrend - 93/100 - "You will never forget Remember Me."
- Playstation Official Magazine UK - 70/100 - "Visionary ideas unfortunately fall to a formatted medium. The world is ambitious and brilliantly realised, but the fighting and platforming can’t keep up."
- VideoGamer.com - 4/10 - "A mixture of big ideas and low-rent execution, this is one memory worth forgetting."
- TotalBiscuit - Ten Minutes of Remember Me (not really a review; WTF coming after the embargo ends)
- Destructoid - 6/10 - "May be slightly above average or simply inoffensive. Fans of the genre should enjoy them a bit, but a fair few will be left unfulfilled."
- The Escapist - 3/5 - "Sadly forgettable."
- GameSpot - 7/10 - "Remember Me never comes into its own, but it's an entertaining and attractive adventure all the same."
- Polygon - 8/10 - "Dontnod's fiction and world save Remember Me from its design missteps."
- Joystiq - 2.5/5 - "(...) Remember Me inspires excuses and an attempt to polish up the parts that are capable of shining, even after making a case for mediocrity."
- Official Xbox Magazine UK - 70/100 (Interactive Review: personalize the score of the game by answering a few, multiple-choice questions)
- GameFront - 70/100 - "In most things, Remember Me is perfectly competent; unfortunately, in most things, it will actually be somewhat difficult to remember. The occasional flashes of brilliance, promise, and beauty, however, make Remember Me worth a look."
- Kotaku - "Its best gameplay ideas barely win out over uneven execution, but overall Remember Me delivers well-realized sci-fi concepts in a beautiful world."
- Blistered Thumbs - 7/10 - "Dontnod Entertainment brings us a flawed but memorable experience."
- Game Informer - 7.75/10 - "A Fun Adventure, But Not Entirely Memorable."
- GameRant - 3/5 - "Remember Me is a game that wants to tell a story but isn’t entirely sure how."
