Hmmmm. I know they first appeared on the Game Informer magazine cover. Was your copy a Collector's Edition? Or one released outside of North America?

I bet if we get a femProtagonist on the cover she'll be showing her cleavage and it would mean the end of BSN.

Those weren't covers. Well, they weren't game covers.
Those were the various covers of GameInformer that came out with the reveal of Bioshock infinite back in... 2011, I think? They were magazine covers, not game covers.

Hmm. I could have sworn I read at some point they were considered as options for the reverse of the game cover.

The 1st and 3rd images would have made awesome covers.

I'm particularly fond of the middle one, but the one on the right is also very nice, and also probably the most "traditional" video game cover.

Yeap. This is how we as men are supposed to feel today for some crazy reason. That we are oppressive for putting men on posters/covers/box art.

Yes.
That is a whole other can of worms, though.

Yes I have CE, but the middle one was voted by fans and you're able to reverse the original cover into the middle one, which I prefer and with any copy of the game.

I don't know why showing cleavage is a bad thing. Its like men who show their manly chests & chest hair.  You just appreciate them. Not feel disgusted or feel bad.

Okay guys. Let me ask you a question? Did having a woman on the cover of the box stop you from buying Starcraft II: Heart of the Swarm? How about Tomb Raider? Blood Rayne 1 & 2? Bayonetta? Final Fantasy X-2? Final Fantasy XIII? Final Fantasy XIII-2? No it didn't. And if there were a F!Inquisitor on the cover of D3, you wouldn't care either.

What is going on here is that a woman thinks it is perfectly fine to physcially assault men who do not agree or share her opinions. & then think that men are somehow inferior for not responding back. Could it be because men are brought up to be nice to women & not hit them ? Could it be because if men assault women for something, it will be inherently wrong and you will be prosecuted ?

Which is why as a man, I prefer being around other men. Straight or homosexual. Because if we argue & we have not reached a solution after arguing, we either just forget that we argued or we resort to duelling/fighting and no one would make a fuss.

On the general topic at hand, this is coming from a male's perspective - a cover in general, is what sold me on games when I was younger, KOTOR, Jade Empire, etc and I didn't even know those were made by Bioware at the time, I just thought the covers looked really interesting. Anyway, since times have changed and you can basically find out everything about a game, regardless of the cover, I don't think it should matter at this day and age, since I'm assuming most gamers have and frequently check up on games that peak their interest on the internet/magazines, whatever. The thing is, I understand that a cover with a female might peak your interest at first... but wouldn't you choose to do more research then just purchasing based off a cover, I know I do. Also, if you've bought the last two games, why would it matter now, since this is not a new IP from Bioware and it's established that you can play whatever gender you please, is it really that major? Personally, I don't see the big deal of having multiple covers or choices, since concept arts tend to be in the dozens, the whole reverse cover is great, but again, it doesn't define why I buy a game now, compared to when I didn't have access to what I do now.

Well, there's your problem... you have a copy of the PS3 version. You're playing the game wrong.

Vice versa.

Okay girls. Let me ask you a question? Did having a man on the cover of the box stop you from buying Mass Effect 1? How about  Bioshock Infinite? Dishonored? Hitman Absolution?  No it didn't. And if there were a M!Inquisitor on the cover of D3, you wouldn't care either.

It goes both ways.

The solution is simple. DO NOT HAVE MALE / FEMALE PC ON THE COVER.

No why would it, this whole topic is kinda dumb tbh. I don't buy my games for the artwork.

PRECISELY. IT DOESN'T

Many women today, many feminist women today like to find issues from nonexistent places such as this one.

Some people care about what's on the cover. Helps them with their headcanon, I guess.

I couldn't care less what's on the cover, really. It's a bit like judging a Christmas Present by the wrapping.
