Its probably why I couldn't understand the rage people felt when it became a Nintendo exclusive.

I don't. It's 60 bloody dollars. I always research a game I buy.Shadow of Light Dragon wrote...

One does not simply make impulse luxury purchases. One does not simply make purchases based on box art.
That is very true and how I went about getting the games I had when I was younger. Now I'm not in that position and I'm willing to argue many on this thread or not either.

Well, there's your problem... you have a copy of the PS3 version. You're playing the game wrong.Skelter192 wrote...
I bet if we get a femProtagonist on the cover she'll be showing her cleavage and it would mean the end of BSN..jpg

X2 has been better than all the recent FF games. Rather sad. The covers are a major reason why I buy a game. However it won't matter for DAI as I won't buy the game until I read several favorable review from independent sources.

It's principle of the thing. The point of the thread is about having more female representation in general. It matters to some people.
"Some people" being the entitled and self-righteous e-social crusaders.

How is it entitled to have an open preference about seeing a (non-sexualized) woman representing a video game that you plan on buying? You might not realize it, but representation absolutely matters, especially because when women are represented, it's typically in the role of wife/girlfriend/sex object/victim and that feeds into the notion that women's functions in society are similarly limited. It has nothing to do with being self-righteous or social crusaders and everything to do with simply wanting to see a well-written female protagonist receive a fraction of the support that her male counterparts do.
I mean, if it's a silly thing that you can dismiss as being beneath the notice of non-"some people", then why the **** are you even here in the first place? Why not let those of us who want to see a female Inquisitor lead the marketing express our personal opinions and just keep your empty commentary to yourself? I promise that the existence of a thread like this that isn't being ****ted up by namecalling won't result in the sudden subjugation of anyone who prefers their avatar to be a thirtysomething white guy.

Just because something's illegal doesn't mean it's morally wrong. Like I said before, sexists deserve to have their noses broken. And while I'm at it, racists deserve to be dunked into tanks full of bees and homophobes deserve to have their armpit hairs plucked out one by one with tweezers. Physical pain is, in fact, a pretty merciful punishment for bigotry.

Um, I don't think that punching someone who calls you delciate is an appropriate response. Doing this would be considered an "assault" which is actually illegal under most state and local laws.myrrhcat wrote...
Punching a dude who calls you delicate is a perfectly appropriate response. It simultaneously proves him wrong about you being delicate, and punishes him for being a sexist ****. It'll actually make him think twice about making sexist comments in the future, whereas walking away or reporting him will just leave him with a story to tell his friends.

Okay guys. Let me ask you a question? Did having a woman on the cover of the box stop you from buying Starcraft II: Heart of the Swarm? How about Tomb Raider? Blood Rayne 1 & 2? Bayonetta? Final Fantasy X-2? Final Fantasy XIII? Final Fantasy XIII-2? No it didn't. And if there were a F!Inquisitor on the cover of D3, you wouldn't care either.
Then why does it matter?
PRECISELY. IT DOESN'T
Many women today, many feminist women today like to find issues from nonexistent places such as this one.
