Practical armor in practical colors.  Leather browns, steel silvers.  Nothing that gets in the way while you fight.  Modders have done an excellent job in DA2:

For a more casual Orlesian look, there's this:

I actually liked the Rogue Champion outfit better for my m!Hawke then most of the other outfits (let mages wear something that actually functions a little as armor!):

All three of these were good-looking, practical armor sets:

If we have to have mage robes, I prefer the simpler ones, although I have despised the belt style that Anders is wearing in the shot below (FUGLY BELT BUCKLE) since DA:O:

I loved all of these styles (obviously, since I put them into my game. XD)

Only Anders' green tunic is actually practical and believable as clothing. Kudos to the modder, by the way.
Some of the rest looks esthetically okay, but as far as I can judge, none of them are practical / physically possible / workable as armour or clothing. But that's why it's fantasy, I guess ;)

I'm of the opinion that this is for the modding community to deal with. Bioware should instead do something about those playing on consoles since they can't use them. Give them the chance to download or upload whatever dress, hair, eyes etc they want and not just limit it to PC players.

i agree with you.  I play on PC so I have access to mods but it is strongly looking like there won't be any this time around.  I hope they come up with decent clothes.

The problem is that console parent companies, Sony and Microsoft, need to approve any content that's intended for distribution to consoles. All of the DLC packs are. Some companies have exclusivity agreements, too, which is why DA is no longer available on Steam. It's a legal headache.

I don't want anything fancy for my protagonist. Something simple for casual movements and a decent armour of your own choice, depending on your class. I'd like however to colour my clothes and armours, accessories, etc.

More armor for mages, something like what they showed in World of Thedas. Assuming this pic hasn't been posted yet.

Yeah, I'd love something like this. Something along the lines of various Skyrim mods out there like this:

static.skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/images/19733-1-1341168132.jpg

I'd also like mage gear to not all look like robes, something along the lines of Witcher 2 or some highlighted earlier in the thread - like necromancer one. I would especially like the ability to change the model of equipment we find, kind of like the Winter Forge mod in DAO. That way if I get an upgraded weapon or armor that has a look I don't like I can change it - also like daggers for dual wielding rogue to match up. Hate to say it, but if I will go with equipment that isn't quite as good if it looks better.

My initial reaction can probably be visualized thusly:

Fugly :o.
Typical example of fantasy schlock throwing various things together that just don't fit. I mean, seriously, throwing together a Vendel style helmet, a modern coat, random bits of plate armour and sergeant's stripes?
Ugh!

You know, I sometimes wonder if (some) artists just use a program to randomly select pictures from the internet, then blend them together and then take it from there...:crying:

I've been watching Merlin and I have to say: I want those friggin cloaks!! Don't know about how comfortable or practical they'd be in combat but, by God, do they look cool!

Also, give me gloriously long braids for women AND men. Of the Kal Drogo variety.

A Grand Ball would be nice to show all the latest fashions. Maybe dance with Morrigan.

I want giant feathered poofs, heavy make-up and flamboyant clothing.
