I completed DA2 the other day and thought it might be interesting to play through again as Fem!Hawke. Is it worth doing for that reason alone or is not all that much different? I thought it might broaden my perspective, being a man.

Also, have any of you tried this for this reason? (DA2 or DA:O)

It has some differences, but whether or not it is worth replaying depends on how much you enjoyed the game.

Myself, I play all my RP games as both genders for this very reason.

Doesn't seem to make much difference.

The main thing is the voice, I suppose, which is a matter of preference; it's not like ME1 where there was a fairly strong consensus on one side. I don't know of too much else being different (a few things with Anders and Isabela come to mind). There's certainly plenty of other opportunities to do things differently, though.

Pretty much what everyone else has said. I find playing as Fem!Hawke better than Male Hawke, although there isn't much dialogue difference its still interesting experience as gender swapping.

I don't see it being too different either, but I just finished my first playthrough as a female Hawke but now I'm doing it as a male Hawke, and as a Mage opposed to Warrior / Rogue.

I honestly can't remember it making a single difference, apart from love interests possibly making a reference to gay romantic interests if you are the appropriate gender. Oh, and the Arishok (helpfully) points out that you are a woman if you suggest a duel. But really, that's it.

To the poster who mentions the "Gay love interest" I personally am VERY letdown by this path that Bioware went... you can romance 3 men, 2 women as it is... (The 3rd women is off the romance block for storyline) IF you have the DLC you can romance Tarris but that goes nowhere in the endgame, (SPOILER: she never shows back up after the DLC)

ALL romances can be done if your male or female, which is the part i find sad. that takes away from 50% of the replayability in my opinion.

Anders: Bi Sexual (Has a male lover that gets turned to Tranquil) but will romance male or female players.
Fenris:  Bi Sexual (Was a Slave so was forced to do all sorts of demeaning things) Will Romance Male or Female
Sebastian: Bi Sexual (Chaste now that he is a brother of the chantry) Will Romance male or female
Isabela: Bi Sexual (Umm female priate captain, will sleep with anyone she finds attracttive) Romance male or female
Merril: Bi Sexual ( Dare I say Bi Curious, she appears to be all of 12 years old) Romance Male or Female

I definatly prefer DA:O/A's romance tree better only 1 bi sexual option the others were Hetero in nature, fine add more gay, or bi options but dont cheap out and make every option bi.

Sebastian wasn't bisexual, though. >____>

True Sebastian was straight .
Some players call what Bioware did in DA2 playsexual.
There's no indication certain characters were bisexual. Bioware seemed to make them available to either your male or female hawke.
It was convenient .
I thought it was phony and unrealistic.

The true tragedy is that Varric was already in a committed relationship with his beloved Bianca.
