Was the combat better on the Xbox for TLC? The lock-on system was a monster to navigate for me on the PC.

I'm pretty freaking excited for this remake. Fable was easily one of if not my favorite game for the original xbox, so this'll probably be a day one purchase for me.

I want to be excited for this announcement, but I'm not. Too many unkowns before I can decide whether this Fable HD remake gets a "YAY" or a "NAY" from me.

What I would like to know is:

- Does it come out on PC?
- Will it include more than just updated visuals?
- New quests and/or weapons and/or armor?
- How about the voice-acting? Will they redo some of that?


So many questions...

I think the answers to those questions are no, no, no, and no.

Lets see(assuming here)-

PC release- Nah
More than updated visuals- Kinda. They did say it'll be better optimized and such, but if you're asking for the game to have more content, probably not
New quests/weapons/armor- Nah
New voice acting- Nah

Again, just guessing.

It'd surprise me if they ponied up for re-recorded dialogue. It'll probably be one-for-one with the original, outside of the improved visuals and performance.

New armor and weapons might not be a stretch, though.

Yeah, you and I are sharing the same opinion there.

I'd like to add that I'd rather they spend their resources putting more weapons, armor, bigger set pieces, and great voice acting into Fable IV, rather than a Fable HD Remake.

Moving forward and all that. Plus, there's that ol nostalgic charm that Fable had that I want retained.

Well I guess I'l just stick to the original Fable TLC and wont bother with the HD remake.

The HD remake looks like garbage anyway (judged on the screenshots provided in the OP), so yeah...


I think Zelda The Wind Waker HD will be the one and only HD remake that gets my attention this year.

We know nothing yet beyond what little we've seen.

I'd wait before tossing it aside so early. If you did enjoy Fable when it first released.

Thanks but no thanks Lionhead. Even Oblivion is better than Fable and that's saying something coming from the nemesis of Bethesda. If I want broken combat, easy gameplay not even challenging to a child and choices with zero consequences (negating the whole choice feature) then I'll play Two Worlds which is still a vastly superior game compared to Fable.

I don't think they're trying to get new fans or convince those who didn't like their past games to jump on, I think this is purely for those that have been Fable fans from the outset.

Would be interesting to see how well it sells.

Chalk this one in the 'I never asked for this but glad they have done it' category. I loved playing Fable TLC on my 360 except for the random freezes that, due to a frustrating autosave feature, would cost me hours of time over the playing of the entire game. Hearing that music again brought back fond memories. Getting new books to give to the schoolmaster for his classes were a riot. I was also obsessed with getting my strength high enough so I could finally pull free the sword in the stone. Commoners and children commenting on my name, Maleficus, never got old.
