There are some people who feel that way, though I don't think Fable 2 will ever get an HD remake.

I used to own a copy of "Fable The Lost Chapters", I bought it ( and Halo and Ninja Gaiden ) back when I first bought my 360. Sadly I lost it after only playing it once. I also bought a copy of "Fable" from the the XBox store. I did not get very far through it however, I had some issues with gameplay ( I felt that using the bow was a bit of a hassle ).

I want to get excited about the "Fable HD" remake, heck I am excited about it but I want to know if it is straight port/remake or if Lionhead will make a few tweaks to the combat, more equipment, more areas, etc. I know I did not get very far through Fable 1 but I hear that this game wasn't very long and that it was sort of lacking content ( hence the reason the Lost Chapters exists ).

I don't understand all the hate for that game. Could someone enlighten a non-Fabler as to the issues w/ that game, please?

They moved from the fantastical sort of thing they had going on in 1 and 2 to more of a steampunk era thing. Brought more guns into play.

Weapons were advertised as all being "legendary" with their own histories, yet were made up of the same parts. I swear to God you had two legendary weapons with different backgrounds and they looked exactly the same.

Interacting with villagers became a hassle while in Fable 2 it was simple and fun.

The Dog in Fable 2? Useful and you cared for it. The dog in Fable 3? A hassle that didn't help whatsoever.

Etc etc etc would you like me to keep going or can we stop here?

I like Fable 3 but I have to agree that is also a very disappointing game.

The series both lost and gained something when it entered the industrial age.

The weapon morphing didn't work quite like it was advertised ( does anything in the Fable Universe ). It was very limiting having only weapon that you could morph. It always pisses me off everytime I upgrade my sword and I find out that evolves with a bone handle ( since you spend the first part of the game fighting a bazillion Hollow Men ). I've actually deleted several characters ( that I have invested several hours into ) just because I cant stand the sight of my hero's bone sword.

The touching thing was stupid, it was supposed to revolutionise fable's gameplay, it just made it more tedious. Interacting with villagers became a chore.

The whole entire being King/Queen thing was overhyped.

The storyline was kind of at odds with the gameplay. The Fable games alow you to roleplay as either good, evil or anything inbetween but the storyline has you playing the role of someone who is tired of 'your' eveil brother and goes around making promises to everyone to become a better leader/ruler than he is.

Edit. I forgot about the stupid ****ing sanctuary. Another time waster as well as a waste of development resourses.

I think the whole hand holding/touching this is great, but it should happen automatically and in the right context, rather than being player-driven.

Straight from the new Fable forums-

http://forum.lionhea...ersary-FAQ.aspx

Hohbes wrote...

Following hot on the heels of the recent Fable Anniversary announcement we thought it'd be mighty proactive to put together a detailed FAQ all about our newly announced title! So, if you had a burning question, have a look here before you post to see whether it's covered. If it's not, feel free to reply to this thread and we'll update the FAQ periodically with new questions.

Q: What is Fable Anniversary?

A: To celebrate nearly ten years since the launch the critically acclaimed Fable, we're bringing a new and enhanced version of the original game to Xbox 360 players. Whether you're a Fable fan old or new, you'll be able to experience the magic of the game that started it all with updated graphics, animations and interfaces!

Q: Can you be more specific about what exactly is being updated?

A: It was important to us that Fable Anniversary isn't just a simple port, we want it to be up there with the best looking games available on Xbox 360. In order to achieve this vision, we have;

An entirely new lighting system, powered by Unreal.
All new models, textures and materials - leather now actually looks and feels like leather!
All new particle fx, to make Fireballs hotter than ever!
All new facial and cutscene animation technology to bring even more life to our story sequences!
Widescreen support! A 4:3 TV is sooooo 2004, so you can enjoy Fable Anniversary with 16:9 beauty!
Also, not forgetting sound! All our audio has been fully remastered for surround sound!

Q: When is Fable Anniversary launching?

A: Fable Anniversary will launch later this year.

Q: Will content from The Lost Chapters be included in Anniversary?

A: Absolutely - all of the content from The Lost Chapters will be included.

Q: Will there be new quests or content?

A: Our intention with Fable Anniversary was to re-capture the game that so many fell in love with and bring it up to date for a modern generation of console gamers. We think the story, quests and gameplay of the original game are what lead to it becoming a critically acclaimed title in 2004, and we've got no intention of changing or adding to that with Anniversary.

Q: What platforms will it be available on?

A: Fable Anniversary will be exclusive to Xbox 360

Q: How much will it cost?

A: We've not announced a price yet, but keep an eye out as we'll be sure to let you know as soon as we can.

Q: Is this the only project you're working on?

A: Fable Anniversary is just one exciting project we're working on - be sure to watch our website, forums and Facebook, Twitter and YouTube channels to make sure you keep up to date with the latest from Lionhead.

Q: Can you tell us about any other projects?

A: As soon as we've got stuff to share about the other projects we're working on we will do; again, be sure to keep up to date by following us on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and of course right here on our forums!

Q: Are there any screenshots or videos showing off the game that I can see?

A: Here's what we've got so far: click

Q: Will there be new achievements?

A: Yes indeed! We've got a brand new bunch of interesting achievements for you to try your hand at.

Q: Will Fable Anniversary be supporting Kinect or SmartGlass?

A: While it won’t support Kinect, Fable Anniversary will support SmartGlass - more on this to come later.

Q: Will there be a strategy guide for the game?

A: Yes! We’re very excited to be working with PRIMA on a very collectable guide, stay tuned for more info.

Q: Do you have any plans to create an Avatar collection for my Xbox 360 Avatar?

A: We do indeed. We plan an avatar collection, along with gamerpictures and dashboard wallpapers.

People are begging for a PC version, so much that I think it may happen eventually.

Well, if it doesn't? That sucks for PC players.

I'll be able to get it for my 360, but that still sucks since the original and The Lost Chapters came out on PC as well.

As much as I'd like the Sword of Aeons, I'll probably end up with Avo's Tear.

Yeah, I mean... You would think the HD remake would be for both.

If it doesn't come out, I still have TLC on PC, and nostalgia is a powerful thing. ;)

Fable TLC is pretty much the same thing minus the technical improvements so no worries.
