I feel like it's kinda depressing. I mean, I remember playing it 6-7 years ago for the first time and having the time of my life. But after knowing everything that happens in KOTOR 2 and The Old Republic, I don't see the point. There's no "canon" way to play the game, and unlike ME, none of my choices really matter because none of it actually happens since I guess it's pretty much "Oh sorry your Revan is black? They're female? TOO ****ING BAD! THIS ISN'T THE CANON WAY AFJHDSKJHDF!" (of course, my Revan's not female but I feel bad for the people who made them female.

And even because of KOTOR 2, I just get kind of a lump in my throat knowing that Revan romances Bastilla and redeems himself only to disapear from the galaxy and be gone forever until he becoms some thing in The Old Republic. The original Kotor used to be one of my favorite games, but now I don't even see the point of even playing it anymore.

I do understand your depression. That is one of the reasons that Revan and the Jedi Exile shouldn't be in The Old Republic.

So I often head canon it.

Unless you actively play SW:TOR, surely you can just headcanon it?

Also think of it this way: The SWTOR Revan is just one of millions of Revans that people created over the years, they had to pick one of them since it's

a) A multiplayer dungeon
B) A different engine
c) Most people wouldn't have their saves
d) Most people played on Xbox. (not PC)

Ultimately Revan is a big part of the Old Republic universe and it wouldn't be a TOR game if it didn't include him and the exile imho.

I do disagree with you Cimeas in that Revan and the Jedi Exile should be in TOR. To me, A good game shouldn't need to rely on old Player characters to make it a good game. From what I do understand, The Old Republic will still be a good game even if they took those two flashpoints out of the game.

For example, the Sith Warrior trolling Darth Baras will still be funny. The Jedi Knight still be heroic. Overall story will be virtually unchanged.

With or Without Revan and Jedi Exile being in TOR, TOR will still be a good game and as long as the players are still playing the game. TOR can live without Revan or the Jedi Exile.

The Maelstrom Prison and the Foundry are generally considered to be the two best flashpoints in the game entirely because of Revan and the Exile's involvement.

The best way to handle canon that you don't like is to reject its "reality" and substitute your own canon.

Worked for me.

Think of it this way. Revan is held prisoner by the Emperor, and is subjected to Sith Alchemy. Revan's gender and or color may be affected by it.

The best way is to create your own story/reality if you don't like the one given.

The current canon are The Movies, Clone Wars Movie, Clone Wars CGI tv series, SoD Darth Maul comic book series, Sw Rebels, the Rebel Prequel Novel. Unless there is a remake of Kotor 1, 2 or TOR or heavily reference in future works within the New Star wars EU or movies, they are not canon. Go ahead make your own headcanon with Kotor 1 and 2 and if you want your headcanon to include TOR or elements there of, go ahead.

That's the thing about canon.  It's made up stuff.  Some writers get together, create a story, and gets it approved.  Some fans defend it like it's a holy book.  Create your own canon.  Approval starts with us.

I really don't like Star Wars The Old Republic because Revan turns into evil on second major expansion on SWTOR: Shadow of Revan. This game is terrible and so disappointing. I wish that SWTOR will ended and cancelled. That's why it makes you depressed and lose interest in playing SWKOTOR 1 and 2. They ruined it because of SWTOR. So I am also depressed just like you. I wish that my depression will stop. And start being motivated and interested in SWKOTOR 1 and 2. So i understand your depression. SWTOR is not very good game. :(

why it does depresses me because I don't see the need of Revan or the Jedi Exile in the first place.

I've NEVER understood why Revan is represented the way he is in SWTOR.  I quit before the expansions so I'm basing my opinion off of that.

Revan was not evil.  He (or she) was very much a Machiavellian philosopher and also a millitary genius.  Much of what Kreia represented was taken from Revan's philosophies in Kotor 1 (and she taught him much of it).  The star map in Kashyyk is a fantastic example where there is the question that asks if you would sacrifice a city and let it be attacked to rally your people and destroy your enemy.  That's exactly what Revan would do.  Lose the battle, win the war.

He made the tough choices and saved the galaxy from the Mandalorians.  After that, he more than likely turned on the Republic to give it a strong leader to replace the ineffectual Senate in order to unify and strengthen it against the looming threat from the Sith Empire.  As Kreia says in Kotor 2, Malachor V and Korriban are both forgotten worlds to them, but they would soon be remembered.   He tortured and broke Jedi to join his cause but always with the endgoal of saving the galaxy from the bigger threat in mind.

He was also one hell of a swoop racer and pazaak player.

Malak was a tool.

i always felt that Malak was underdeveloped. Malak was impressive enough to become a very powerful Dark Lord of The Sith. His skills with the lightsaber and the force was top tier exluding Revan and some Jedi Master.
