Ah yeah i just noticed. Perhaps Alistair isn't a party member, but Oghren is then. If Alistair isn't in your party then he'll have fixed dialog which i'm sure they can make ambigious enough to include all endings for him. His armor in the video also suggests he's in a place of leadership.

Easier to pin point the places on youtube.

Oghren appears at these times:

0:41 (dwarf with axe)

1:24

He's wearing a helmet at 0:41 but you can tell it's him because you see him at 1:24 and he's using the exact same axe and armor and he has his helmet off.

And Oghren cannot, no matter what you do, leave your party. You're basically forced to have him.

I got rid of him. Told him to leave when we were in camp. He left. I did the final darkspawn invasion with my main party (Me, Alistair, Morrigan, Leliana) and the backup at the gate as my dog and shale.

I'm glad to see this thread in the spoilers, the other one I saw on this topic was in the non spoilers, so I didn't want to post this...

First, there are only 3 characters that you have no choice to pick up, or 4 if you're a human noble. Those are Alistair, Morrigan, Oghren, and Dog (for the human noble). You can skip or kill the others at the initial meetings.

Speaking of killing, the only 2 characters you can't kill or have killed are Morrigan and Oghren.

As for kicking out or making them want to leave once you have recruited them, the only two you can't do this to are Wynne and Dog. But you can kill Wynne once you have recruited her.  You can only kill Dog before recruiting, or not at all.

So based on these things, it seems the character most likely to be in everyone's group would be Morrigan or Oghren. Since Morrigan is pregnant and and long gone at the end of DA:O, she seems unlikely to be in Awakening. Making Oghren the most logical choice. (Which to me is a real pity, as Loghain is the only party member I dislike more than Oghren.)

Now because of Alistair's popularity, he might have been a good choice anyway. But since Bioware is saying it's a secret and we see him in the trailer, well, makes me think it pretty much can't be him (unless BW is being really crafty). Besides, even if he lived, there is a very good chance he'd be too busy ruling Ferelden to make more than a cameo appearance in Awakening.

Of course it could be any of them, really. But if the staff was concerned with "who is the character most likely to still be alive at the end of the game and available for more adventure?" then Oghren really is the obvious choice.

Personally, I am going to hope it's Dog, and that the RtO DLC giving you an extra chance to recruit him is to increase the odds he is in your final party for Awakening. But I strongly doubt this.

Further, the spotting of the dwarf that could well be Oghren (but you can't be sure without seeing the face) certainly points in the direction of it being Oghren.

I hope it's Oghren. Oghren, Zevran, and Morrigan are my favorite NPCs and favorite party combination.

I will probably be Oghren.

He cannot die, so even if you do not recruit him in Orzamar or leave him behind with his personal quest, he could always come back.

Leliana could be possible too, since she could escape Lothering before the horde hits and join you later.

One possibly that strikes me regarding the romance options (apart from Morrigan, of course) is that BioWare may be throwing a curveball that has them appear at start and possibly finish, but for whatever reason the love interest is seperated from the Warden for a long enough period of the expansion that it's genuinely not worth making them a companion. For instance, Alistair (if not the King), Leliana and Zevran might all be busy looking after Grey Warden interests at home (training if not actual participation in Zevran's case), Leliana might be serving as a diplomat, any of the Companions may end up getting themseleves captured, etc. There are lots of ways that BW could potentially satisfy people who want to continue relationships without necessarily making the full investment of making the subject of the relationship a full Companion. (In fact, this is pretty much mandatory for Human Nobles that marry Anora.)

Love Oghren, he is an earthy companion, great humor and comes with the least emotional baggage of them all (excluding Shale and Dog). Mori has a belly full of old god, so nope.

it is possible to finish the game with no companions. either ask the others to leave, have them turn on you, kill them, or simply dont get them. when you have the option, kill loghain and have alistair die after the archdemon. it really could be anyone in awakening. we will find out soon enough. i would love for it to be morrigan but i doubt it. i am sure she will pop up as a npc near the end to tease us into the next expansion. i know alistair is in the trailers for the game and that may or may not have been a completely different red headed dwarf. there were a few in origins anyway. it really depends on your specific ending. thats why its not a seperate game. you have to already have a saved origins game to play it.

It all depends on how your story ended

morrigan is probably a no theyll put her either in the sequal or her own special dlc

The dog is a deffinate possiblity i mean why couldnt your dog go with you

I swore i saw Wynne bringing trees to life in the trailer

i dont get why lelianna couldnt be in the expansion and shes one of the romances great for a carry on

I think allistair can be it just cause hes king dosnt mean hes no longer a grey warrden duhhh

Logahan is probably a no

Oghren most deffinatly will be

Sten is impossible cause he went home

My main point is why dose everyone think its only one caracter it could be multiple carry on caracters thats probably wat bioware will do because everyone has their own favriote companion, mine personally is lelianna or morrigan, it will all come down to how you ended the story

Why must Oghren be the one? Bioware said "Encounter five all-new party members and an old favorite from Dragon Age: Origins". Bioware says "an old favorite" so i think/hope it could be anyone...your choice. If they had in mind only Oghren they could say it,am i wrong?

Personally I was expecting Morrigan to be back as some kind of antagonist to begin with who you win back somewhere along the story.

acutally morrigan could be part of the game because there could be a quest to go find her if you had a romance with herPosted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image

I think that Alistair should be there since he is still a grey warden (depending on what you did in origins) and as for morrigan prob not cuz she took her "old god" baby and said she will never be seen again and bla bla bla...... but i do want her to come back cuz i miss her ****y attitude and "the mage tower looks like a phallus" thinking old bucket a beans. Actually i would be prrty pissed of if anyone in origins is left out from awakening.

I KNOW RIGHT!!! if they bought Duncan back that would be awesome, cuz it really wasen't shown that he really died,
******Spoiler******** it just showed a darkspawn runing towards him and then a big blank. So if they brought duncan back it would make sense. Plus ********Another one********* in the DLC Return to Ostagar, his body wasn't there when you fought the ogre that killed Cailan just his swords. Maybe he'll end up coming bck in the next expansion after awakening.
