If when you beat the game you get a huge Star Wars parade ending with everyone lined up on a terrace and a crowd of millions of adoring fans bearing witness, I want my Shep to press his pistol to the back of her encephalitic skull and paint the audience with what few brains she has.



If that's not possible, I'll settle for letting her die in the suicide mission.

No, he prays for himself, which leads me to believe that inside his head, he's going "I'm such a monster!".

You do realize the Mass Effect official site says that Thane is a "warrior monk," right?

I meant the cool kind, that kills his enemies because he thinks god says so.

It says that he chooses his targets for his own personal religious beliefs, which gives the impression that his prayers are not to ask for forgiveness, but as a rite for the deceased.

Thane and Garrus are definitely going to die on my "main" playthrough. Possibly SuZe, Moridin, and Grunt as well depending on how do/don't grow on me. Jacob will die if he is an idiot. By idiot I mean using language, mannerism, etc of today's hip-hop culture. If Legion is a squadmate and Tali wants him dead, he will die. DLC character may die if he is exactly like Canderous. So the only people guaranteed to live on all of my playthroughs will be Tali, Miranda, and Samara. I just hope my Shep can survive like that =P

Not necessarily. Who knows what his religion of choice really is and what prayers and rites come along with it? No one. Yet.



From what information and video we have of Thane so far, I can promise you - not whiny. It wouldn't fit all the other adjectives that have come along with him since the beginning.

If he was one thing people would complain about it, if he was another thing people would complain about it, if he was the most unassuming unoffensive character in the world (see: Kaidan) people would complain about it. Just how it is.

This is a troll thread anyway. And a fairly good one.

But even in seriousness, it is way too premature to start making lists, especially when we have no idea who these characters really are. Way to stab yourself in the foot, IMO. Oh well. I'll be in my happy corner rockin' it out with all the squaddies. B.Y.O.B.

Fair enough.  It's understandable that people can have strong first impressions and feel fine about doing so, more power to them.  It's hard for me to commit to negative feelings so soon though,  despite a bad first impression (such as the one Miranda has given me.) And even if a character isn't likeable I can still appreciate them as a character and would still hate to see them go.

Essentially this makes the whole "YOU/THEY GONNA DIE" angle extra troubling for me. No doubt there will be at least one Virmire-esque situation to deal with.

But hey, some people will love it if they have the opportunity to off Loathed Character Of Choice. Pity I won't be one of them.

It's understandable that some people would be intimidated.

Thane is composure and deadliness and finesse and intensity wrapped it a stylish leather jacket. Possessing no means by which to compete with Thane's badassery and sexiness, some people resort to the only weapon they have. He has sophistication; they have sophistry.

Okay, anyone who says that Thane is whiny () and regrets killing people is:

1. an idiot

and

2. has not seen his 'Fight For The Lost' trailer.

He seems to be a stereotypical assassin: cold, brutal, and mercilessly efficient.

EDIT: Which, just to confirm, is still awesome.

It was a troll thread until the Tali and Garrus fans dind't come out of the woodwork saying things like, "You'll never kill Tali" and "You monster, Garrus is my homeboy!" Then some idiot accused Thane of Wangst.
