The actual videogaming though..Very standard Adventure game clone mechanics though the clickers and the gameplay surrounding the infected gives it a nice flavour.

I just read that Naughty Dog actually changed Ellies model because she looked too much like Ellen Page? How is that even possible, she still looks exactly like her. I even thought the whole game that Ellie was actually modeled after her.
how cool would it be if she actually got to voice her too

She won't get on and just keeps dancing around.
And boy, this game got dark.
EDIT: Nevermind, she got on the pallet. Had to reset the game.

One of my favourite feelings was walking into an open area full of convenient cover and thinking "ah hell, cheesy wave-based arena fight incoming", and then nothing, just an uneasy silence as I pass through; happened to me more than once, and makes me think other games of this generation have left me a bit jaded.
I hope the DLC is post-game and not a spin-off based on one of the side characters.

Either way a great length for a single player game, brilliant voice acting, excellent music and graphics.
I'd give this an 7.5 at least. The combat was wave based at certain points which was annoying, at times it can get very linear, multiplayer is dull and I see no potential replay value.
I like Ellie but Clementine from the Walking Dead has more emotional connection to the player in my opinion.
I can see Ellie becoming Carl Grimes.

Oh, and of course - Troy Baker delivers again with superb voice acting. Maybe that's why he gets hired to voice every male character that matters from one end to another.

But so far the game was entertaining.

So when Ellie was reading through some of Bill's old comic books and magazines, she pointed out how she didn't like how one of Bills' comics ended on a "to be continued..." note, and she noted "It says 'to be continued!...ugh, I hate cliffhangers." Doesn't this sort of hint that the ending was a "to be continued" since it was technically a cliffhanger? Joel lying to Ellie because of his inability to let someone he cares about go again could be one of the centerpieces of a sequel.

The black girl told Joel that Ellie AGREED to do with the surgery. At the end Ellie asks Joel if the fireflies were really bad. And the game literally ends with Ellie saying a very ambiguous "ok".
Theres a chance that Ellie knows Joel is lying!
**End of spoilers*

No, and no. I just finished watching a playthrough and you got both wrong. If you're going to give out "Spoilers" at least be accurate...Homebound wrote...

SPOILERS discussed:
Marlene says, "It's what she would want" not "It's what she wants". She wants to believe Ellie would willingly sacrifice herself to salve her own conscience, but the Fireflies never ASKED Ellie for her consent. They'd already decided this was too important to worry about the morality of killing a single child.
Ellie doesn't ask Joel if the Fireflies "were really bad". She asks if everything he'd told her about them (that they'd tested other immune people and given up on finding a cure) was true.
(Whether she believed Joel in the end is anyone's guess.)

I'm sorry but while I like this game, I can't stand when people praise it like this. Calling it a "masterpiece".
The game is good, very very good and he game is definitely worthy of praise and awards, but the plot is not good. The emotion, characters and emotion is good, but the plot in general is pretty bollocks.

How is the overall plot "good"? It's incredibly cliche.

Subjectivity, plain and simple.
The same can be said for any game, like ME3 for example.
Anyway, I'm about halfway through the game and one part that made me just smile, was right before seeing Uncle Tommy and you're going through that little forest area, basically Ellie ends up in the middle of a bunch of little fireflies and it was just such a nice scene. Small and effective. Overall, I'm loving the characters and game so far. I also just got my headset today, so I can't wait to hear the Clickers again.

Ellie is supposably the "cure"? You're easily amused if you think that is any good. It's pitiful for a plot hook. Why would Joel deliver her? Because of a silly little promise? Humanity is pretty much ****ed, extinct in TLoU. There is nothing to save.
A possible cure, just happens to pop up conveniently 20 years later?
At least The Walking Dead tried something that is to an extent, believable. Trying to survive, focusing onsolving internal threats while trying to overcome external threats. Clementine is nothing special, just a lone girl. Which brings up a protective instinct.

I'm curious to know when I'll bump into Gideon Emery, Courtenay Taylor, and Steve Blum!
I really liked Tess. And Ellie with her, "why are the pages stuck together?" I'm sure we all saw that coming, but it was hilarious nonetheless. I'm anxious to see what else comes out of her mouth.
I'm only about halfway through, and am trying to avoid spoilers.

@Naughty Bear your acting like a "cliché" plot can't lead to a good game
This generation, we have had too many zombie games. I wanted something different, try something new and not follow the really predictable plots.
The Last of Us is just an overblown hyped up zombie game. Again, don't get me wrong. I have enjoyed my purchase, I really did. But this game is nothing special.
You can't deny that the reviews were all praise purely boosted by Naughty Dog's reputation.
