It's close but an "adventurer" needs to have the itch.  If Ember is determined to settle down and Alan is an okay guy then a minimal level of self-awareness should have our PC looking for an exit already.  Gambling and booze were never going to be more than time killers to wait out the weather.   Honor's timing is then merely fortuitous.

Excellent prose though.

Yeah Heroism it's not. Mind you it's what the character does next that gives them the chance to show their colours.

GC has the right of it I. I do not want another six modules with a steady girlfriend. Another slow burning romance is on its way that the player an follow or not as they choose. Also I need to wipe the slate clean with the npcs to keep the writing interesting for me. It was Honour or Solace to carry on the story and Honour is the most interesting of the two with a useful tale to tell.

Anyways, with all the adventures with gods dragons and world saving I thought there would be room for a little soap opera.

I don't remember Moss... Do you actually meet her in previous modules? So many characters to keep track of.

I like the change of pace from the usual "perfect romance forever" in games; having ups and downs is more realistic, as is keeping an eye of the vultures (Alan in this case) who may try to "steal" your GF. That said, I hope to have the opportunity of seeing Ember again and talk to her.

Moss was one of the three girls you rescued in Last Days of the Raven (I have to check I have her name right now) She returned when Harald did after his trip to Neverwinter to face charges before Nasher's court.

I have it in mind to meet up with the gang before the end. That will be an interesting conversation to write :)

Heh, make good notes PJ and you could probably turn this into an ebook and sell it on Amazon.

I've been play testing this for PJ and I have to say the way he dealt with Ember if you'd romanced her fitted her character. There wasn't anything jarring or awkward unlike some endings I could mention.

And as PJ said if he did have Ember in the party it would have been a real task to write.

You gain the new romanceable party member near the end of the first mod and all I'll say is that she's different. Took me by surprise. PJ has come up with yet another interesting party member idea. From a Lore stand point I'm not sure if they'd exist or not but the idea is plausible and that's good enough for me. :)

PJ, do it.  I really feel that you have the right of it.  Use your PC to romance Honour.....  Some things just don't last, and as you say, Honour is  the logical choice and has the ability to really expand on her background story, where as Solace, well, she's a "chosen one".    If you've already established a good relationship with Honour in the prev mods, then it would make sense - 2 wounded and lost souls looking for adventure and companionship.  She's your friend, she needs/wants your help, you've always been there for her since she left Mort......hey, makes sense too.

Also as you said in post #104, you could even enlist the help of Harald?  Throw in a confession by Honour....  Smokey romance.  Meeh....

Far be it from me to delve into the story....  You've done the job in a superb fashion!  Epic.

I did consider Honour for a long time when I was thinking about where to take her story, In the end I wanted something fresh. There's still something there though as I hope you will see soon :) The door is by no means closed.

My reaction to Honour as a romance is WTF? :o But it isn't that far fetched though. Any PC wanting to romance her is going to need kid gloves as she's been though quite a bit. Given the right PC yeah I could see a romance. As it is you're going to have tread carefully with the new romanceable party member so your mileage may vary ;)

When I saw a certain dialogue option in the play test in the first conversation you have with Honour no less made me raise my eyebrows. I did think about clicking on it to see Honour's reaction but I had the feeling it wouldn't be that great so stayed well clear of it. :) Might have to have a look in the toolset. :D

**Bug: Attempted to talk to Arganar while in Andrew's hideout.  Options 1-6 in conversation list all fail if selected.  Options 7 and higher appear to work correctly.

I've tested the module, but I forgot to check all the possible conversation options with the companions. I'll see if I can take a look at them tomorrow.

For now, I can confirm that at least option 1 fails (and has a typo - "going" instead of "doing"). He also lacks a "never mind/close conversation" option.

Go on click it and see, I enjoyed writing that one though it's only two lines of dialogue.

Thanks GC I will work on Arganars conversation this weekend, it must be proper borked.

Question on Arganar:  He's four levels below the rest of the party and starts with zero xp.  Is he just temp help?

Four levels below is intended, zero xp is a bug which I will fix.

He's part of the story let's say :)

Just tested this. Honour's conversation options work fine (infinite influence bug aside), and I can confirm what GCoyote said about Arganar's.

It might be the game hit a snag but after I killed the vampires and tried to leave the village, the transition point to return to the city is gone.  I reloaded from the auto-save and went back out to the village without killing the vampires but still no transition.  So unless there is a script to jump me back to the mist shore, I'm stuck.

Put this into the override and talk to Honour.

This happened to Ark, I now know its not just him. I can only assume it has to do with the baking of the area. I am going to change the way out to a placeable and back it up with a fisherman who can give you a lift home.

Okay that worked.

Returned to the Mistshore, spoke to the Craven and finished that quest.

Tried to use the transition to go to the Sea Ward but after the load screen I'm right back on the Mistshore.  Wasn't Arganar's next contact in the Sea Ward?  None of the convo options have any info on that.

Tried the transition to the Old Navy Docks but a text says we should lay low and not go there yet.

Visited the Rope factory, the Malar temple, the Undercity Trading Post, the Bag Shop, and went into a the Warrens to trade (nice folks).

Honor has no open quests that I can make progress on.

Returned to the hidden inn in the Kuo Toan Enclave to rest.

Contact 2 = The undertaker on the Mistshore. That's where you need to be next. It should be map noted.

When you have to go there through the sewers, just click again. I got the message the first time, but I transitioned the second.

I also got the Sea Ward transition bug, but PJ sent me a file that fixed it. Nothing to do there except visit the shops, though. Technically, the abducted kid's father should show up there at some point, but he didn't for me. Same for you?

Sorry, I got that one already.  I've got all this in my notes but I didn't copy everything here to the boards, just what I was doing yesterday.

After killing the Undertaker, Arganar mentioned the next and last contact he had but I didn't write it down and there is no mention of who or where it is in any of Honor's convo's.  He said we should go back to the hideout and rest but I did the Craven quest instead.  So that's where I was when I hit the previous snag.

Hope that helps.

Okay, you should have come out of the Undertakers and got into a fight? At that point the story swings around a bit and the Laundry is your next stop. Did you get ambushed outside the undertakers after you finished up in there? If you did was there a cutscene on death.

I have used a couple of group on death scripts and they can be risky ....

Do you have a save from inside the undertakers?

As we came out of the Undertaker's we got ambushed by some of Dex's thugs.   Arganar went down (as usual) and after the fight we ducked back into the Undertaker's upstairs shop to rest my party.  When I came out again and move a bit away from the door I think is when Arganar said his bit about the Laundry which I promptly forgot.

I do have a save from the point where we killed the Undertaker so I can go back and check that if needed.  I'll also check my map for the laundry which IIRC is near the transition from Honor's place.

I've got to take care of some things on another forum but I'll check this tonight or tomorrow and let you know what happens.

Hello GC,

It sounds like all is in order and you will progress when you get to the laundry.

Because of the lost Journal in this mod Speak with Honour and she will give the next step for all the quests and tell you which are closed etc.

Shall I give Arganar another two levels or so?

That should do it.  If nothing else, put him just short of a level-up so the player can make changes that consistent with the PC and Honor.
