Okay, this is the second time now I've been ambushed by guards just trying to get to different parts of Denerim. The first time was around 15 guards, and it took me several funstrating tries to get past it. This time, there are at least 20 guards, and all heavily armed and armored. Uh... what the hell? And why are they attacking me and accusing me of being a thief in the first place? Is this some kind of punishment for looting chests in the city? I am at a loss, and this is really turning me off to the game.
It aint that hard tbh mate, when i encountered them with my elf rouge, i was like * WHOOOA * i had to pause just to count the red dots...lmao ! but its all quite easy

Yea, sure... and human blood is rouge, while Darkspawn-blood is anthracite ^^

I've never pick pocketed in Denerim. I did pickpocket that stupid boy that was hiding in the closet in redcliffe. He wouldn't give me the key to get the sword out of the stupid chest. I still didn't get the key but oh well.

Heh, I got this while traveling back to Arl Eamon's after the escape from Fort Drakon. I too had only pickpocketed once or twice very early in the game, so it did seem like karmic overkill. Worst of all, we had no mage, just me, Alistair, and Oghren and Zevran still in their clown clothes. We ran to a corner and just soldiered through, so to speak. It helped that Zev and my PC rogue had lots of freezy and fire bombs and acid flasks, so the two of us just cycled between them to help with the crowd control.

I too remember the fight against ca. 17 guards in my first playthrough on Nightmare.
I still dream of that confrontation *shudder*

B/c it is daunting if you aren't prepared for it. I think that might be the biggest mob battle in the game short of the final battles, or no? And at least in my case, traveling back from Fort Drakon after the Captured! quest, I had no way to get around playing it. I reloaded a couple times but the game was determined to make me pay for my brief life of crime. Heh.
