I'm on a bit of a Batman 'kick' and want to check out the animated series/movies but I'm not sure where to start. I did watch the animated series that was on TV but that was ages ago. Advice?

Haha... 'Only a Dream' episode of Justice League. I liked it, with the 'Nightmare on Elm Street: Dream Warriors' vibe. Batman's solution is priceless.

Of course, there's nothing wrong with going back over TAS. To me, it's pretty much the definitive Batman anything. It's hard to believe it's 20+ years old. It still stands today so well in many ways, including subject matter. It was also the birth place of Harley Quinn. I can watch these forever.

Really, from there, the next logical step is Justice League. Of course there is a little less Batman, but still he gets plenty of face time. The Flash (Wally West) is worth the price of admission. There are some arcs that carry through the season, that I think is a nice touch. JLU, the second season, really hits it's stride, with many, many more Justice Leaguers added to the original 7, and some fun characters. I really like Green Arrow here in particular.

Then there's a bunch of animated films worth a look. I recently enjoyed 'Doom'. It was a comic story arc compressed into 70 or so minutes, but it's a fun one.

Is it just me, or does Batman become even more badass when he's up with the big-shots? He's like "**** you, because I'm Batman."

The JL also handled other superheroes better than their comics, in my opinion. Take Superman for example, he's done so much better in this series than any other incarnation of him (perhaps not Man of Steel when it comes out.)

Yeah, Batman is in his own world, and he's prepared to take down any Leaguer at a moment's notice were they to go rogue. He's just got every angle worked out. This very thing is the subject of the animated movie, 'Doom'. Some of his moments with Diana/Wonder Woman in JL were nice. A bit different for Batman, and I'm glad they explored with it.

This is my favorite version of Supes, too. He's very nerfed here, maybe too much first season, but he just has to be to some extent. And I'm thinking of an episode where he is just so fed up with Darkseid, he refuses to help him defend his planet from a Brainiac attack, and when Darkseid says millions will die, Superman's response... wow. Good stuff.

Oh, and Hawkgirl. Pretty darn awesome here.

Is that when he beats the **** out of him? "How powerful I really am!"

Awesome stuff, and as a Batman fan, I got goosebumps (which I usually don't since Superman's story's aren't as thrilling or exciting.)

Yeah, Gotham Knight contains six shorts that tie together, all different variations of Batman, and Kevin voices all of them.

Yep, that's the one.

Speaking of goosebumps, I remember the show's original intro did that to me, too.

And Batman is so badass, he can even do this.

"The things I do for love" xD

This applies to the Bat too. Another reason why Jaime is awesome :P

"Father's Day, time to pray." Be sure to pay Calendar Man a visit tomorrow as it will be Father's Day here in the US if you haven't already in Batman: Arkham City.

Thanks for the reminder. I always forget to check in on the holidays. I think I've only nailed 3 so far. I should get that trophy in about 50 years. I refuse to cheat with the date manipulation.

This will be my first one since I just got into the game. Epic trophy and date manipulation is a no-no. I'd love for him to say something admonishing you if did that, but then that fourth wall would be shattered and Batman would be confused.

Thanks! Netflix doesn't have TAS streaming but they do have Justice League and Batman Beyond among others.
