Baldur's Gate: Reloaded bug reporting thread

My warlock character is suffering from Arcane Spell Failure in a Chain Shirt, was wondering if anyone could help me fix this. I read that it was a bug in Kaedrin's PRC pak 1.41.4, but since the vault is down, I can't seem to find the hotfix for this, and I remember someone saying that 1.42.1 conflicted with BGR content.Any help would be appreciated.

I had always assumed it was a module-specific bug, but I didn't know that about Kaedrin's. The Vault isn't down, but I don't know if that hotfix you're talking about is available somewhere. If you can't find it, I guess you could ask Kaedrin himself.

Maybe the one I mentioned got fixed then. I'll check it out when I play.

I started a game today, and I'm getting a really weird graphics bug inside Candlekeep. Everything in Winthrop's Inn animates just fine, but outside, several trees and walls have a whole bunch of red, blue and yellow colored sqares drawing instead of the appropriate placeables. The tiles have cut off texts on them, such as "...ssing", or "No..."
It looks like there may be a missing tileset in one of the hak files. It is extremely immersion-breaking and kind of ruins the whole point of playing BG in a 3-D engine (beautiful graphics), so I hope there is a fix soon.

Your download may have gotten corrupted or something, because there's no general problem and no missing haks (I just opened Candlekeep in the toolset, and there are no "missing hak" messages that you would get if there was a missing hak). Try redownloading.BelgarathMTH wrote...
Thank you for all this hard work, but it looks like there may be more to go.

Anyway I post a message here just to say that I get Imoen to start conversation when she is in my team anytime my main character "meets" her on the screen, and that is very annoying (when you transition for example your group is tight and if your main character is behind Imoen and just cross her she start her dialog!)

Talking to Imoen "I recall your interest in wizard" probably should be wizards, wizardry, or becoming a wizard.
Xan got killed by a Kobold before I could enlist him.
Hester revernant was hostile as soon as I entered the cave, so I couldn't return his dagger.
Arkushule, the gypsy in the lighthouse area is a man, but is still refered to as a lady.
I got 8 hours sleep in the cloakwood lodge area (after a couple of spawns)
Then made the 2 hour journey to cloakwood south, & all my team had their stats reduced, as if they were exhausted.
The Gnolls Prisoner quest is still in my diary.
Should that have been completed when I rescued Dynaheir or is there more to it?
I killed Aldeth Sashenstar at the cloakwood lodge & there he is bold as brass & in surprisingly good health in the merchant league building.

Check the comments at the Nexus. Drechner uploaded a hotfix, so check it out and see if that helps.

EDIT: I tried redownloading and reinstalling the game, as instructed. The problem persists. I have also tried reporting about this on the official bugs message board - there is a problem on that board where users may not comment in their own threads, necessitating new threads being created for every post.

Edit: noticed that the hotfix is in the campaign folder, but in the bgr install there's a BGR folder inside this one with the file imoengame.dlg, so my question is must I overwrite the original file or should the hotfix remain in the root of the campaign folder?

Ps. When I try to load the module it tells me that there is a hak missing, but my bet is that several more things are missing...

I only became aware of this when I tried to go to Beregost, and got a message that said "You must have expansion pack two to load this area.". It turns out, the game will run pre-Beregost without SoZ, but very strange things will happen. After Beregost, I suspect that most tech problems that people are having are because their SoZ game version is not up to date.
The magic number is 1.23.1765. Please verify that your SoZ installation matches this version number. If not, you should run the SoZ update utility and then reinstall Baldur's Gate Reloaded. I suggest that the devs may be able to avoid wasting their time in the future on idiots like me by asking as a first line of troubleshooting, that everyone please verify that their game version is 1.23.1765.
I hope this helps. I really think this game may be worth working out any tech bugs and playing. The trash mobs become mere annoyances in the NWN2 engine, but the devs have put some rather delicious surprises in every boss encounter. As in, you are going to die the first time you encounter them. Every boss is a new puzzle to be solved.

Played a bit. Some bugs I've noticed so far (some of them were in the beta already):
- Companions:
Kagain has 12 DEX, so he can't take Dodge (unless you increase DEX at level-up, as it requires 13), and he needs it for Dwarven Defender.
Viconia is injured when you meet her (so it's hard to protect her from the Flaming Fist guy) and doesn't have canon domains. Her build is also pretty crappy for 3.5 rules (too much CHA and little use for it, for example), but I guess that's not a bug.
Edwin is a transmuter. IIRC, he was a conjurer in BG.
I haven't tested it myself, but I've read that Shar-Teel's AI is still borked and she doesn't attack.
- Typo in Kagain's shop's map pin: "Mercenary compagny" -> Should be "company".
- I can't lie to Oublek and tell him that I'm Greywolf (this is a new bug, as I could do it in the beta).
- Gibberlings still have DR.
- The duel with the gnoll in the Dryad Falls is still borked.
- I've read that some ankhegs still have the wrong appearance.
I think that's all for now, but I might be forgetting something. I guess some of these are on the list but couldn't be fixed yet for time issues or whatever, but just in case. I didn't have some of the bugs people are reporting: Elminster showed up, installation was correct, etc.

Resting in the gnoll stronghold sometimes triggers ambushes with no enemies. My characters also got fatigued when resting there once. (Edit: I also got fatigued after resting in the Dryad Falls).
Edit:
Typo in the Nashkel mines: "mine entance". Also, the pikes of the miners there have a visual bug; they appear to have no handle.
Garrick has 3 feats at level 1, but he should have 2. He has no medium armour proficiency, so you can drop Battle Caster.
Edwin has some memorised spells (like Charm Person) which are not in his book.
I'm having some crashes in the bandit fights (the ones before heading to the camp). I had this problem in one of the betas too, and it may be a problem with m computer, but I haven't noticed any other crashes in other fights (or in other modules), so there seems to be something wrong with those.

I haven't had any problems in other areas of the game and if I leave the Cloakwood forest and do some other quests everything works just fine.. Other games also work just fine...
Any ideas what file or files I should download and install?
edit. To be precise, my computer doesn't crash in the Cloakwood areas, it freezes completely. ctrl+alt+del doesn't do anything so all I can do is reboot. (sometimes after rebooting, the computer's clock says it's 2001. weird...)

Open your save folder. Have two windows open -- the broken save (the quicksave in this case) and the last most recent one that works. Compare the contents of the two folders, and see if there are any missing files in the broken one. If there are, then copy them into it from the working save folder.
Try loading it now.
This is a last resort sort of thing. Some important variables might not be where they should be if your last save is too old, and there are probably some other possible problems with it.

I can't complete Gurke's quest. I brought him the cloak, but he didn't say anything about it.
Maybe not in a heritage sense, but he likely has samples of most races' blood in a lab somewhere in Thay.I_Raps wrote...
