Jowan since he was cut. Also Gorim or Fergus would be cool.

Gorim, certainly. He was awesome.
But also Ser Cauthrien. She played such a little role, but seemed to be a very strong, experienced warrior. Then again, I would recruit anybody who is nearly impossible to kill for the PC.

Jowan!!! totally! a repentant, but still practicing blood mage in my party... woot! i'd prefer to have him as well as Wynne and Morrigan (a four mage group would be epic) but i'd accept him as a choice between him and Wynne...similar to the Alistair/Loghain choice)
Gorim is perhaps the most noble character in the entire game...i'd love to have had him instead of Oghren... or as well as... especially since they respresent completely opposite examples of the dwarven warrior caste.
I'd also have loved to have been able to save Tamlan from the mirror in the Dalish Origin (at a later point in the game...perhaps the mirror is now in the werewolf stronghold, or those ruins are not far from where the main-quest dalish clan are located)... we need another elven party member... so he's the best choice ... Merrill perhaps, but if we get Jowan we don't need her anyway. Shianni would be an all right choice too, as a female elf option there are few better than that fiery red-head.
Fergus, but i'd like him ONLY if you couldn't have him if you were a human noble... he's a funny character, with a nice desire for revenge (well he could have found out that Arl Howe had murdered his whole family).
i'd also say Teagan, but he's such a great, and major supporting NPC that he might lose some of his appeal if he were lounging around in the Camp.
Isabella... i swear, when i saw her i immediately thought... "where is the "recuit me now" option" i'd totally boot Leliana to get Isabella in the party.
above all others, save only Jowan, i would love to have Ser Gilmore as a party member. he was such a fine, handsome young knight (and lets not forget prospective Grey Warden candidate), and we don't get any closure at all for his character, he could very well have survived Arl Howe's invasion of Castle Highever.

Kolgrim. I wanted to learn more about the cult.

Ser Cauthrien and Sandal. The two most over powered characters in the game.

Jowan is the most obvious. Could have been done as a "hand him over to my custody" option after saving Eamon. Bit late, but Loghain comes even later, and why would you have to have no new companion choices later in the game.

Cullen. His dialogue ends with him saying he wish he could go out and fight with everyone else.
Seriously who doesn't want a Lyrium addled Templar in their party?
Add an option for female mages to lead him on and I am sold.

ooh Cullen didn't think of him... the other option during Broken Circle - if you slaughter the tower... get Cullen instead of Wynne...

Kolgrim.
For some reason he reminds me of Gerard Butler's Leonidas.

Now that I've played the origin story and I know he's not only the "dwarf in market square" I'd say Gorim, absolutely!!! He's awesome.
I think with Jowan it works the opposite way for me - I'm not interested in recruiting him because I've played the magi origin and I've never particularly cared for him.
It would be nice to be able to recruit Ser Cauthrien too.

Cauthrien would be an interesting companion... especially for her potential banter with Sten - who doesn't think women can be warriors... but i just can't see Where we would gain her... we see her only once at Ostagar - in the cutscene where Loghain betrays Ferelden. then not again until much later in the game...i mean just before the Landsmeet, and only slightly earlier when she captures you (or you "kill" her) at Arl Howe's palace...

Jowan would work very well as a third mage, with a very different personality from the other two.
Would be nice to recruit Leske as well. For the dwarf commoner PC, you could have a persuade option to turn him against Jarvia.

Jowan! I've started learning how to use a toolset just so I could make a Jowan mod, but I'm not doing too well, so don't keep your heads up yet
Gorim - my female dwarf noble misses him...
Ser Gilmore - I might be able to do this eventually, thanks to Immort and her mod in progress

Ser Cauthrien, of course.
Also, Leske.
I hated having to kill him.

Ser Cauthrien, @Devilsgrin, considering Loghain isn't got till the Landsmeet, I think it would have been neat to get her just before him or at the earlier part.
Would've been nice to 'persuade'/'intimidate' Leske into swapping sides, even if just for that fight, for 'old times' sake.
As much as I really like the idea of Isabella as a party member, storywise it'd just be wrong, she is a lady of the seas not a landlubber.
@Spuro... "THIS.... IS.... ANDRASTE!"
yeah got to admit he reminds me of him too
Mythra, would be neat, specially if they made her into a 'ranger' spec (the only spec that doesn't have someone to teach the warden it)
Petra (the mage Wynne leaves in charge of the kids)

Cauthrien and Jowan would be a nice change from every warrior being male and every mage being female.

Jowan. And it would also be nice if you could recruit someone from your origin.

1. Riordan - I new there was a secret companion and I was hoping it would be him and not just the lame one...
2. Gorim - He rocks. One of the greatest characters in-game.
3. Lanaya - The new keeper looks good, seems nice and I thought she would be interesting as companion.
