A Golum made of pure steel and twice the size of Shale. Gives a new meaning to the term Tank!

Nah, he'd be creepy. Always rambling to himself. Always preoccupied with the Anvil of the Void and calling it "My precious..."
Sorry but that typo was asking for it :innocent:

If anything, she should make an appearance as an early gained companion in some future expansion, she could be placed as an agent or something.
EDIT:
As for Isabella, yes, I would've wanted her! Isabella + Leliana + campfire?

Lanaya wouldn't be suitable - she can't leave her people without a leader. I think the same goes for Shianni, though she would be cool.
Interestingly, not only are both our mages female - but all our warriors are male. Except Shale, who doesn't really count, I think. So Ser Cauthrien could be good. No other truly memorable female warriors in the game that I can recall (other than Isabella, who wouldn't be suitable).
Other greats would be the usual: Gorim, Ser Bryant, Teaghan, Sergeant Kylon, Ser Gilmore, Ser Perth.
Mind you, if they could be recruited, they'd have to be romanceable. [Edit: for this reason Leske isn't suitable, can't cut it romance-wise, my female dwarf commoner found that out ...]

Jowan as a third mage, especially a blood mage (and with his poor judgment, LOL) would be great and also allow for a 4 mage party. It's a pity BW changed their minds about making him a recruitable character. I'd even take him instead of Wynny, who is just too preachy for my tastes. Edit: Interesting typo on Wynne, perhap that was a Freudian slip and I was thinking of her as whiny? Hmmm.
While I know Daveth was a post origin recruit, I hated he was killed off. I thought he had one of the more practical attitudes in the game. Plus it would give one the ability to have the 4 rogue party.
Ah, my sweet Iona, how I miss her. Nothing more to say there.
I'd like Ser Bryant because while he was a Templar, he seemed much more rational than the others you run into. He just seemed to have a personality that would be easy to get along with.
As for Ser Gilmore, he was a runner up for being picked to become a GW, and he has an admirable loyalty...though perhaps a poor sense of self preservation. Why didn't he come with me when I asked him to do so?
And Gorim was definitely the best from the origins part. A somewhat comical warrior (and one equipped with a weapon he could not re-equip), and very savvy. Incredibly loyal as well. The downside is that if he was a companion, the Dwarf Noble PC loses the best merchant in the game.
Ser Cauthrien would be great to fill the missing role of a strong female warrior. But you'd have to get her so late in the game, and only if you kept Loghain (who I think needs to be killed for the stability of Ferelden, whether you think he's evil or not).
I tried to get Flemeth to come along, but all she'd do is give me Morrigan. While Morrigan is easier on the eyes, who wouldn't want the power of the legendary Flemeth at their side? Muahaha! Unfortunately, I know this could never work. She'd have to be nerfed to make the game playable, which would just spoil everything, Now if we could recruit her in the expansion... *sighs*
Edit: spelling

Excellent point, how did I forget about her? She'd be better than Ser Cauthrien too as you could get her earlier and with no strings attached.SusanStoHelit wrote...
Actually, Adal Helmi might work for female warrior too.

2. I also agree about Riordan. A real shame that the only other Warden in the entire game has such a small role. Well... maybe not small, but it just felt like he showed up to say 'Hi', then next thing you know he's dead.
3. DUNCAN!!! How has no one mentioned this?! I know he dies at Ostagar, but not even a little time to fight with him? WTF?! He supposed to play a huge mentor role and barely does any mentoring at all. No offense, but I wasn't as touched when I saw his death as I should have been. There was barely any time to actually gain even a small affection for him.

Yes, to Ser Cauthrien. As for isabella, who needs a campfire? The woman has her own boat!AsheraII wrote...
Definitely Ser Cauthrien, I really missed the "follow me and make things right" pursuade option right before the Landsmeet start. And yes, I know she'd leave the party right away again if a certain option was taken.

I never did like Jowan, but I'd have loved to keep Gorim, Tamlen, or Ser Gilmore. Teagen would be my first choice, though, to recruit, romance, and ride away into the sunset (or to Redcliffe, where we'd take over because Eamon would be in Denerim with Ali).
Edited to add that I'd take Ser Perth with me in a heartbeat, too.

Ser Cauthrien, if only to make the loghain banter interesting.
Jowan as replacement for wynne.
Teagan, alistair gets the boot.
Eleanor (if your a human noble), having your mum in party has never been done and couldve been amusing
change of class to rogue tho.

Actually, I'm picturing recruiting Ser Cauthrien and then making her duel Loghain at the Landsmeet. I'm thinking she's got a lot of resentment built up after his shenanigans since Ostagar. I bet she'd pull an Alistair and behead him without any prompting.
Hardened Ser Cauthrien? or unhardened, i wonder.

Gorim is such a noble character and Fergus is a rather funny guy, imo.

Ser Cauthrian. But only after the Landsmeet, if you convince her to step down and not fight you.
Isabela would have been a great choice, but completely out of character for her. She's not gonna run around saving the landers. She's too devoted to the sea and her life, or at least that's the impression I got. I DO hope we see her again down the line though.
Similar to Jowan, as much as I hate him (and the thought that there's a whole fan base that's built up around him) you should be able to recruit Cullen. But, as someone upthread said, only if you side with the Templars and kill Wynne. Which would solve my problem nicely, because Wynne is my favorite non-Alistair character. Buh-bye, crazy Templar mage killer!
Gorim would have been nice, but it'd only make sense if you were playing a dwarf noble start. Otherwise he's just some dwarf guy who probably isn't very interested in your party at all. None of the romance options make sense to me as a dwarf, so it would have been nice to continue down that path if you wanted to (this presumes playing a female dwarf, Gorim is just your second if you play as a male, correct?) The whole concept is very specific though - I doubt they would have cast him as a party member if only one origin and sex could recruit him

Gorim.
Isabela.
A blood mage, but not Jowan.

That's true and it's probably the reason why you can't recruit any of the temporary companions from origins. Dialogues should be almost completely different for a PC who already knew them, otherwise it wouldn't make much sense. And that means much more work with writing, voicing, scripting etc. With tight schedule, Bioware probably thought it wasn't worth the effort. Fortunately, there are modders
