Ser Gilmore (but DLAN_Immortality is working on it)
Jowan. Poor, misguided fool, but I liked him, regardless. And he was repentant over the evil he caused. Forget Sten (though I like Sten, too); Jowan's a man who really needs a chance to expiate his guilt. And I liked the previous poster's suggestion that you would lose Wynne if he joined.
Ser Otto. A real Templar, and I wish I could have saved him.
Niall. Why, BW, why? He could have survived, I know it.
LoL... this could have been from me as well.
I totally agree on Ser Gilmore... really liked him.
Jowan, I think he is one of those guys that would actually need a lot of help and from my point of view he could have helped to have a bit more balancing among the characters.
I mean we have 2 mages, 2 rogues and then we have 4-5 warrior chars... another mage would have been lovely.
On the other hand, getting Cullen to come along.. to show him not all mages are as bad as he thinks... would also be interesting.
I agree on Niall... gosh I was so sad when I couldn't do anything for him.
Ser Otto... yes, it would have been so nice to do something to save him. Then again... I was very sad about Tamlen as well.
And what some people mentioned before... Ser Bryant. Why? Cause he is one of the best made/looking characters from my point of view and he seemed like solid fellow. I was also hoping to at least see Ser Donnel (sp? the Redcliffe knight in Lothering) again.
Ah well, BioWare managed to introduce us to a lot of cool characters - hence the urge and desire to see them stick around.

It would have been nice if you could bring NPCs to your 'point of view' (i.e., either 'corrupt' or 'enlighten' them, depending on how you play, etc.). Something like what was done, to some extent, in KotOR I guess.

I always had a problem with KotOR 2 in that, even if you corrupted your party members all the way dark side (I even managed it with Mira), their personalities never really seemed to *change*. They always seemed to react the exact same ways, its just that they looked more Goth and/or Falling Apart. Which is cool, y'know, but...
In response to the OP. Jowan. He just seemed like such a lost guy, with a good heart, who had made mistakes and genuinely wanted to atone for them. I always wanted him released, but never can do it. He deserves a fresh start. I think the whole Wynne or Jowan choice would have worked well too, or not - heck, maybe Wynne could've, y'know, talked to him a bit instead.
I'm not so fussed about a lot of the other characters. I liked them as they were. Teagan would have been cool, or a Dalish Mage (but not Lanaya, I never really liked her much). Maybe we'll get one in Awakening.
Oh, other than the Bandit Leader in Lothering. I so wanted to force him into joining. That guy was awesome.

Just imagine it. He runs away, drawing all the enemies with him, while any mage in the party, plus any archers, taking them down one by one. Perfect.
And if, IF, they would catch him and kill him, they'll be so far away, that the mages and/or archers will kill them before the enemies can reach them.

Jowan seems like a perfect companion. Having him in the party would add a zillion new quests and xp.
Yes, definately Jowan. I'd also like Cullen and Isabella on my team too.

This. He's really the only one I wished I could recruit.
*edit* Ok...I fibbed. Ser Gilmore and I 'do' try to recruit the bandit leader too (though this technically would be 'conscription' hehe).

2. Minsc and Boo - errr, oops, wrong series. *cough* I miss seeing miniature giant space hamsters however.
3. Riordan - i would've liked to have kept him around, seemed like a decent Warden.
4. Ser Gilmore - brave and noble & all that.
5. Daveth - if he hadn't died, I think he would have made a good Warden ultimately.

- Isabella (With the dialog option to say...)
PC: Where are you?
Isabella: Take a good hard look.
PC: Why?
Isabella: I'M ON A BOAT!
- Ser Cauthren (She adds the summer to my sword
- Desire Demon (Allow the option to sacrifice Wynne to summon a desire demon)

2. Daveth. He would have made a fine Warden, and damnit, I soooo wanted to shag him.
3. Senior Enchanter Sweeny. I already have one senior citizen in my party, and she's preachy. Need a senile old geezer to balance it and keep Wynne busy.
4. Cullen. Between him and Morrigan, I could totally see some serious Keldorn vs Viconia moments. Even more fun if you spec her as a blood mage. Plus, he and Leliana can sit and talk about the PC's hair and trade stalker tips.
5. Soris. He's just so damned cute.
6. That dwarven merchant on a perma lyrium high. He can hang out with Sandal.
7. Gorim. My dwarf refuses any romances, as she has been ruined by him.
8. Cauthrien. A serious dearth of badassed warrior women in this game, and she's the only two hander wielder I've seen that can remain standing and inflict serious hurt at the same time.
9. Kitty! Need a demon cat for Dog to play with.
10. Jowan. because his tendancy to royally screw up everything he even looks at will lead to numerous side quests and the chance to kill plenty of Chantry personnel. Win for everyone.

It's certainly a lot more believable than making Wynne a blood mage directly, which is ridiculously simple to do.
Jowan also presents the groundwork for a Companion quest - namely, rescuing Lily.

2. Cullen.. you could just see him with Morrigan and he'd be all "WHY ARE WE TRAVELING WITH AN APOSTATE?!"
YES.
I think having Cullen along with two Circle mages and an apostate would have been more fun than a barrel of monkeys. OH! And Alistair would be there, too, of course. Templar pillow fights, y/y? And must have romance option, for those of us who insist on "fixing" him. XD
Hmm, I'd totally take Daveth, too. He was just so hot in a practical way. Damn he made that other guy...Ser Jory, was it...look like a total wuss. I was so incredibly disappointed when he didn't pass the Joining. Romance option: required - he'd be like Zevran, though...taller, and probably without the blatant perversion (or perhaps just in a different way; I asked him to watch my back and he said something like, "Oh, I'll watch it alright" in a very much "with pleasure" kind of way, ha).
Who else ? Oh, BRAN. The sarcastic/exasperated Tower Templar Big Door Guard-Guy. I dunno. His comments made me laugh. Girl likes a guy who can make her laugh. Maybe he could just hang around the camp, like a groupie...since I'd already have Cullen and all.
Bann Teagan. Two words: Jazz hands. Romance option: of course (he told me he digs mages!).
Jowan...hm...if I got to slap him around a bit, I think I would bring him. I was his BFF, stuck my neck out for him, and he ditched me! And his "nobody knows the self-inflicted trouble I've seen" attitude doesn't elevate my opinion of him BUT I feel like he's redeemable. And if Cullen is in the party it equals so much more fun. Romance option? Eh...maybe if his you-knows ever drop...
Hm...trying to think if there are any ladies I'd bring...
Isabella. She's ace, and could be an either sex romance option.
Dagna. She would be the equivalent of the brain in every super-hero team that doesn't DO much but knows the answer to every situation a la " Hit the dragon at X point because that's where the hide is thinnest and you'll do auto-crits!" Even if she just sat in camp and wrote extremely useful codexes and made potions, it'd be awesome. Romance option: she could totally get with Sandal, amirite?
Ser Cauthrien. I think she's pretty awesome and the tension between her and Alistair would rival that of Alistair and Morrigan, I think. Romance option: nope, she'd be the female Sten.
Isolde: Human shield. Tsk that she wouldn't last too long. - 20 approval from Teagan upon recruitment. XD
Shianni. Watch out for that shiv! I think she and Oghren would be BFFs in no time. Romance option? Sure, if you can overcome her potential intimacy issues and aren't a human male (especially noble...Banns need not apply).
That's all I've got.

she'd even be cool for any party, being such a (seemingly) fuss free high born lady, no need for a Human Noble origin to have her. and with her, you'd get the Fergus ending...just worded slightly differently.
Plus no officious '****** would dare be rude to you with a Teryna in the party.

If you save the whole tower with your blood magic and then are geniunely repentant... she still risks the future of Ferelden and the Circle to attack you and get herself and everyone else killed. D:draxynnus wrote...
You know, I find it curious that people consider Jowan and Wynne to be an either/or choice. While Jowan is a blood mage and we know Wynne disapproves, he does also appear genuinely repentant for what he's done (otherwise you'd expect him to just run for it if released from prison, which he only does if threatened and then only reluctantly), and Wynne seems like she would be willing to give him a second chance under those circumstances - especially since her own personal quest has to do with her perceived failure with another apprentice. When you get down to it, wasn't Jowan also failed by the system?
For someone supposedly so reasonable, she's a huge hypocrite. Lol, it'd be like Leiliana recruiting Kolgrim.

Cullen - I think it would be cool to have a righteous Templar on your side
Ser Gilmore - That guy was cool, a real Knight. I hope he survived....
Daveth - I really hoped that he would become a Grey Warden. When he died i was like noooooooo this cannot be!!!!!!!!!
