Every sapient being capable of: "I think therefore I am" has a right to their own life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness, as long as those rights do not infringe upon the same rights of other sapients. Even if OP claims that Reapers "store one's essence as information" the very act of violently harvesting sapient life infringes upon all three of these rights because it gives the victim no choice whether he/she/it wants to join the Reaper's collective conscience.

Slight digression here, but: Seeing that the Reapers have so viciously infringed upon the rights of countless sapients for countless cycles, their right to "life" or whatever kind of existence they have is forfeit. Most people would not simply let historical mass murderers such as Pol Pot and Stalin walk away. The same idea applies to the Reapers. Storing "life" in Reaper form will never excuse the violence they have inflicted against the rights and freedoms of of sapient beings.
