I have a poll for you then:

I voted the one I found to be least abhorrent, Shepard saves, however I was not satisfied with even that.

My preferred choice would have been to defy the Reapers with everything I could, any weapon/tool I could scrounge up and should death become a certainty, then I pull the pin on a grenade or improvised explosive and charge the foe.
I might take a few of them with me and there won't be enough of me left for them to butcher into some kind of abomination.

Better death than corruption.

I think he's blocking people so that they don't screw up the results for his self-validating poll.

That said, I would like to see said poll. Can somebody post the options and explanation for the poll?

I'm afraid the original Catalyst will not ask mine, yours, or anyone else's opinion on the matter.

Which is why the Catalyst and the Reapers' opinion doesn't matter to me when I shoot the destroy pipe.

Destroy option was created by the original Catalyst and Crucible for Shepard. And Shepard has no other choice, but listen to the Catalyst's opinion on the matter before he can even choose that option. The Intelligence doesn't care if it's opinion matters to your Shepard, it's just talking to the talking mammal.

And I'm just listening to the computer with a faulty logic core. A lot of other reasons considered, it's opinion is irrelevant. Mine opinion isn't irrelevant, since I'm the one making the decision.

All choices except the last = death.

Not necessarily.
It only depends on your view of life and death.
Stay optimistic, and hope Synthesis will be applied while you are still alive.

Here is my view.   The reapers kill you first, and use your organic matter to create their minions.  Then Shepard chooses destroy, and kills the minion that is formed from your goo.

Here's the poll by Seival:

Let's say you are just a human civilian living in ME Universe. When the Reapers will come, you will most likely end up being harvested...

...So, if you could choose what type of harvested to become, what would be your choice?
Regular Hask.9%(13 votes)
Part of a Scion.1%(1 votes)
Part of a Praetorian.4%(6 votes)
Adjutant.8%(11 votes)
Part of a Reaper ship.22%(31 votes)
I just want Commander Shepard to arrive in time and save me!55%(76 votes)

But technically to be harvested is not to be killed. It's just a transformation into something far greater than oneself.

Though you're right, it's a matter of personal views of being alive.

Which is why synthesis exists. To serve as a great compromise. To bring peace in our time.

With synthesis, there are infinite possibilties

The only good reason I can come up to support Synthesis is my own obsessive compulsive inclination for tidyness and uniformity. Things like "taking the middle option" have some kind of intrinsic appeal to me. Kind of the same psychological thing probably going on when I tend to round up numbers. If that makes sense?

Otherwise, it holds little appeal in and of itself. If I step back and try not to have my own neuroses decide the fate of the galaxy, then it's a dumb idea.

No. It's not. It's really not.

Which is why synthesis exists. To serve as a great compromise. To bring peace in our time.

And destroy does it without compromise. There is no need for compromise. There's nothing the Reapers have to offer that I am willing to ever accept. Except the tech that I'll strip from their cold, dead machine bodies.

With synthesis, there are infinite possibilties

Perhaps... but I think the negative possibilities are far more likely than the positive ones.

I'd prefer people finding peace on their own terms, not the Catalyst's. Or at least, have some input on it. Even just the most minor bit of input seems to be "asking too much". No sir! We can't allow that! That's just going too far!!

What kind of peace is that, when the terms discussed are completely one sided. Usually when people have peace talks -- be it rivaling siblings or entire countries, they work out a deal where each side gets to say "something" at the very least.

Besides, it isn't really peace when your mind and DNA have been rewritten. It's more like replacing everyone with a more agreeable construct. You probably don't even care to eat or sleep as a synthesized being. It's an entirely new paradigm of existence. What else has changed? There might be some semblance of your old self in tact, but it isn't really you. Everything about how you see yourself and life as a whole is different. This is no different than the artificial "peace" Legion pondered on when rewriting the Heretics.

I am disappoint you gave people an easy way out with that last option, though.

You guys are boring. I think we need a little "motivational music" here. Don't worry, I got it: http://youtube.com/watch.

There we go! Listen to that ish and unleash the beast a little, my friends.

Sadly, the censorship really waters down the effect, but I don't wanna test the mods.

Really seconded.

It also did not endear itself to me with the focus person done up like some kind of daemon of Slaanesh.  Rather it just made my left eye twitch and my hands instinctively reach for any button labeled "Exterminatus".

Admittedly, Buddy Rich and Keith Moon were probably as good as Neil.
