In one of my playthroughs I found the Meteor Stone quiet late, just before going to the Landsmeet. Now I wonder what I shall ask of the Dryden smith: to forge into a onehanded weapon for Alistair or a twohanded weapon for Sten and Oghren.

Alistair is the significant other of the Warden, so a sword would be a nice present, on the other hand, he's already got a nice weapon by wielding Bloodline and Starfang would do much more damage if made into a twohanded weapon for Sten or Oghren. At the moment Sten has Asala and Oghren Faith's Edge, with the option of taking a dragonbone greatsword with 3 rune slots instead, that I found with Shale's quest.

If a Warden can't wield Starfang, whom is your favourite warrior to give Starfang to, Alistair one-handed or Sten or Oghren two-handed? And what would you advice concerning my set-up? ('setup' is actually not fixed, I like switching around characters).

Unless I mean for my Warden to use it, I really just pick at random.

I always give my Starfang to Alistair since he's pretty much with me for most of the game (I usually play rogue, Wynne heals, Morrigan is the damage mage and Alistair tanks).

Combined with Duncan's Shield Alistair is pretty much set weapon and shield-wise.

I think we've learned by now that Sten gets EXTREME separation anxiety when he has his sword taken off him. Just fyi...

It's the 2 handed version I give to Oghren.

Don't spoil me, as I've not completed the game yet as to what might happen.

But a thing I've wondered: is there a possibility to upgrade Asala? It's a tier 3 weapon (steel) now and is easily surpassed in damage output by Faith's Edge and by the Dragonbone greatsword I've found. Would be nice to upgrade it to silverite or better?

Okay, but if you've already got Asala then you've already done his personal quest...?

Okay, now I know what was meant by 'not parting easily'. Yes, I've experienced that. It got me wondering if something bad happens if you take Sten along while leaving Asala behind (by dropping it in the chest or selling it), such was my thought.

Thanks! Only works if Sten didn't finish his quest yet however? I see no change on Sten's sword in the campaigns where he's already got Asala.

Lol, no, although that totally SHOULD happen. One of those moments where lore doesn't quite square with gameplay, I guess.

Oh, possibly, I'm not sure. Or maybe it only works if you start a new game with it...?

I tend to pick a one handed sword for Alistair or a AW warden. Sten has his own sword and Orgren doesn't look right with a sword. He is an Axe man.

I finished the Darkspawn chronicles, so I've got blightblood for Alistair... so starfang went to Sten instead. (currently, playing Archer).
