No it did not COME with it. It was DLC.

Free DLC. What percentage of PS3 players used it? I don't know. Do you?

And regarding your last comment. Et tu, Alan? But typical. Take a comment OOC and turn it on the extreme opposite end to recite a corporate line.

What context would have been appropriate? Casey was right, and Bioware was right. A game needs to be a good place to start when something like half the players won't have played the previous titles.

If that's the corporate line, so be it.

I have a 360. It was 800 MS points on the 360. And a funny thing? It's the cost of a latte at Starbucks. To me that's nothing. To some other people that's a lot. I was curious so I grabbed it even though I have ME1. I started a brand new character in ME2. Did you know that it doesn't always launch until a New Game + with that character?<_<

It was free on the PS3.  Have you forgotten that you were talking about PS3 players?

David, Mass Effect 1 was not available on the PS3 until November 2012, so regarding Wrex, yes.

Though I guess we shouldn't have been talking about the PS3 players in the first place; we should have been talking about the XBox and PC players who started with ME2 and would have had to buy a DLC to keep Wrex alive.

PS3 player who bought 2. The interactive backstory plays auto if you do not import a game from 1.

Wow. You mean it actually works on the PS3?

Due to some space magic of unknown type, Shepard has a choice. He can release the Destroy wave as is or alter it to create a physically destructive blast that kills him and a great number of allies, including the Normandy crew. But the geth as a species remain intact. Basically, would you trade yourself and your team for synthetics?

Shep's the one who takes the hit. Not the crew, not the Geth, just him and the Reapers.

At least...... that's what I would have prefered. Rather than seeing all my past effort in reuniting the Geth and Quarians go to waste. Espeically after Tali told me how the Geth were helping her race recover in weeks rather than years.

What did you do with Wrex? I've never seen the thing in action.

Question:

Does any event, choice, import, or DLC have any impact of any kind on the three endings? ( I don't know - literally - I imported a full playthrough with all characters and stories finished for all three games, having played since the beginning.) Does skipping the first 2, or using Genesis, alter the endings in any way? (Other than Breathe, I mean.)

None.  Who's alive at the end affects the slides you get, but nothing you do affects the endings themselves.  All that's important is that magic EMS number.

Of course, those choices themselves have EMS effects, but a completionist game should get you to a high EMS state most of the time. I believe that without DLCs you can't get the "breath clip," if your save's really awful, but I haven't done the math.

Some of the people in the MP forums did the math on it, and supposedly you need at least one ME 3 DLC to get "breathe." (Without playing the Multiplayer, that is.)

I can't say, for sure, personally. I had the necessary EMS in my first playthrough, but I bought the Collector's Edition (which just made me laugh for the first time, because I hate Collectors) which came with "From Ashes" DLC, so I had all the assets from all three core games + 1 DLC, which was enough to get it.

Are you seriously so insecure about your ending choice that you have to make several threads each week either promoting your ending or bashing the people that choose destroy?

My poor reading skills failed me. I was unable to find those hidden words in the OP.

@ David: then you might want to double-check your definitions. A person who makes a statement is responsible for proving it's validity. I don't have to prove the validity of your timeline because it does not belong to me. I am only responsible for what I say. You're trying to sound very smart but sometimes make no sense. Playing devil's advocate on the internets isn't a new concept. Just don't get too much into it.

That's got to be a pre-EC figure. I can hardly avoid getting the breath clip nowadays, and I've never touched MP.

A quick check of Femlob's list makes me think that 3100 EMS is right on the borderline of what's possible without a save import or at least some DLC.
