I have a guilty addiction.

Before I go into a PuG, I'll open chat windows to all people on my FL who are currently playing, and when I see an orange button I'll jump right in. I have jumped into a few ongoing games where the team was just one player short and helped them extract. Yesterday I ninja-joined AirQuotes' lobby and ended up playing two platinum games with him (I also filled up his origin FL).

Sometimes it happens, though, that somebody is soloing without going invisible first and you end up ruining it. I kinda f*cked up Stysiac's solo this morning. I also dropped into Dunvi's epic bronze solo and molested the lone Nemesis in front of her eyes. I once had MasterPeras ninja-join one of my gold solos and we ended up duoing. Since then I always go invisible before soloing.

One time I ninja-joined Shinobu's game and caught her playing a Reegar-wielding Juggernaut with equipment on silver and she actually went down once. Have you ever found out shameful little secrets about your friends by ninja-joining their games?

And what's your opinion about it in general?

I would think you would be kind of a jerk, at least send a messages asking if they have room.

Air Quotes usually starts Gold games solo with it set to public so have at it. I don't like doing it personally because some people do solo without setting themselves to invisible. Fortunately I didn't really mess Alquinn up cause he got devices and died anyways but still don't like doing it.

I find it pretty unpolite to be honest. I never do that.

I always send messages out asking if someone is free/has room or wants to set up a lobby. Whether or not I get a response, is something else entirely..

But what if they don't answer immediately and I have the patience of a six-year old?

I'm sort of the opposite, I'm extraordinarily bad at accepting invites. I usually forget to check and then by the end of a pug match I alt tab and see I'm 10 minutes late >.<

I'd kick people from my FL for ninja-joining.

I have a theory:

- I quick-matched, and you didn't set your lobby to private.

- Therefore: You can get pissed at me, and call me rude if you want, but between the two of us, I'm not the one that screwed up.

If I'm legitimitely going for a solo attempt, I set it to "private." If I forget to do that, I certainly don't blame other people for my own mistake, but I'm weird like that.

If we're trying to fill up a spot, I usually send invites to everyone on my FL. There's mostly someone who joins and once the lobby is full, the invite will have expired anyway.

Ninja-joining is when a lobby of one of your friends has a spot open and you can just drop in uninvited regardless of whether it's private or public. Only going invisible before a solo attempt prevents that.

I don't know about console Jeremiah, but friends can join each other's private games on pc. That's why most people go invisible when they're soloing.

ON Console, "Private" prevents anyone from joining the game, and "Friends Only" allows friends to join.

On PC, "Invisible" prevents anyone from joining the game, and "Private" allows friends to join.

Given specific circumstances, I would message someone first, if I was aware that they tended to attempt solos and forget  to go with the proper settings.

But ultimately, I'd still take responsibility for managing my own settings correctly. I would not hold they desire of a friend to play with me against them, if the issue was my own mistake.

It's my honest answer.

I've done this maybe once or twice but only with people who I know aren't going to have a problem with it (people I speak to IRL). Otherwise, I just pug.

Oh, and if you're on PC and you can't keep people out by setting it to "private" that sucks. Maybe that's why it's called "lolpeesea". No one's ever saved me from my impending death during a solo.

I use to to ask, but it happens, and then it's often because I'm about to go to bed and want a(some) quick easy game(s) before I go to sleep.

Invisible will only prevent people from joining if you also have the game set to private. I searched for a PUG and landed in a game with Air Quotes while he was invisible with a public lobby. I'm not sure why he was doing it that way but whatever.

I think I may have done it once, a few months back when I didn't know how Origin worked. I thought the join button was an invite, go figure... I'd never do it on purpose though, its kind of intruding

Personally, it's not the fact that it intereferes with solos that bugs me. I always go invisible when I'm soloing, so not a problem there. It's first, the principle. It's nice to ask if you can crash into a man's game, in my opinion. Second, there are situations in which it can be annoying that do not include soloing. Given that it's not possible to discern if the "join game" button will put you in a game in progress or in a lobby, you might end up in a private lobby that is waiting for someone to come because he was invited to. And you would put those people in the unpleseant situation of having to choose between the invited guy and you. Stuff like that happen.

So all in all, I find it pretty unpolite. I also know (we all do, actually) people who would unfriend over that, lol. I wouldn't go as far, but someone who did that repedeatly in the past got on my block list for a while.
