I'd rather be asked first. If I solo, I'll definitely set to invisible, but sometimes if I duo, one or both will forget to go back to invisible after the lobby is set.

Yesterday I did my first ever ninja-join. The only reason I did it was because I was sure it was open to other players (Penguin's Twitch cast yesterday). It still felt really awkward, especially since they were all talking on Skype except me. I don't think I'll ninja join again

Yes. I must admit I'm one of the people who find it rude. But I know that not everyone has the same lobby etiquette so take offense only the second time

And it's not only because of solos. I remember first time I played with you, Cirvante, you asked me to host. I crashed during a game and tried to join back but someone from your FL joined and took my place. It's one of the occurences when I find ninja joining annoying. Especially if the remaining people don't ask the new person to leave and you end up having to make another lobby. Your friends have to make an excuse to leave ("sorry but I choose the other person over you") and you feel bad for "stealing" them. So many socially awkward consequences that could have been avoided by a single PM.

No biggie, but It's unnecessary and rude. None of my friends do that, but if someone would pull a stunt like that, first time I'd say in a polite but firm matter to never do it again. Second time and I will remove said "friend", unless it's happens to be an irl friend. You just can't get rid of those guys that easily, so instead, I'd plan a plot for an elaborate and cunning vengeance.

OP, if this is your opinion on the subject, why did you ask what BSN thought anyway?

Not on PC myself, but seems rude to join a game without asking unless you have a prior understanding with said person that they don't mind ninja joining.

Sometimes I start a solo game to either really solo or just to try sth out and still I would like to be able to receive messages. I do not think it is too much to ask to send a message first (might be wiser too). When people ninja join my games repeatedly I kick them from my FL.

If I'm legitimitely going for a solo attempt, I set it to "private." If I forget to do that, I certainly don't blame other people for my own mistake, but I'm weird like that.
