They should be wiped out; they would do the same to all other races without batting an eye.

Since when do two wrongs make a right?

I think this is the biggest problem I see on this foum, and with a certain issue in particular.

Look, the Qunari see themselves as doing "right" by forcefully converting bas, and killing those who refuse to. The problem with this "two wrongs don't make a right" saying people like to throw around is that there is no universal agreement on what "right" actually is.

The Qunari believe they are doing 'right' by conquering and converting everything they see in their path; and I believe I'm doing 'right' by proposing the extermination of dangerous, violent zealouts who make no secret of their "convert or be murdered" philosophy.

You see, there is no end to the debate of what "right" is, it is a hydra with infinite heads. So what I do, in cases like this, is strip it down to the bare bone: The Qunari wish to conquer and convert all bas out there. Those who refuse will be killed. That's a fact. They will not compromise on that position. With that knowledge, I could care less who is "right" or "wrong" at that point, my only instinct is to survive. We kill them or they kill us or make us their mental slaves. Right, wrong, left, right all go out the window, all that concerns me is survival, by any means.

So anyone who kills innocents is a savage.

Then every nation in Thedas is a nation of savages. Warden and Hawke are savages. The entire world of Dragon Age and everyone in it should be burnt down and sunk into the ocean - which it deserves to be, for having such intelligent and articulate fans such as OP.

No different then how the humans zealots of the chantry tried to wipe out the Dalish, and force anyone who didn't believe in their precious religion to convert.Sounds pretty similar to me buddy.

Edit:Also Sten felt bad for what he did,and he definitely repented for that by helping to stop the Blight...Plus he's Sten(or possibly the Arishok now)he is AWESOME!

Not sure what you're talking about. It's the Tevinter Imperium that conquered the elves. Also there's plenty of people in both ferelden and kirkwall that openly don't believe in the maker. I don't see the chantry hanging any of them.

The Qun is basicaly .. You WOMAN !! You WEAK! Go make me SANDWICH !

My bad,I meant the Dales. And yeah but they're dwarves and I was talking about humans.I don't recall seeing any humans in Kirkwall denounce the maker.

What do you mean by '' Denounce the Makers'' .. They choose not to believe in him. Should they start the church of the unbeliever ? it also a right for people to believe in what they want and the chantry allow people this.

The difference is that the QUN do not allow it. You're either with or against them.

Actually women in the Qun can potentially become very powerful because only women and become Tamassans. The Tamassans are the priests that basically decide how Qunari society is run and what role everybody has in the Qun. It's not that they are weak, it's that the Qunari believe that being a professional soldier is not the best use of female talent.

That's odd considering that in Origins Sten, in the beginning, didn't think so highly of a Female Warden.

He didn't think she could be a woman because she was a professional warrior. He couldn't seem to think outside the Qunari box. If she was a woman she couldn't have been in the army because women aren't in the antaam.

It's worth noting that in Redcliffe he balks at the notion of women and children not fighting if their survival is at stake.

Does not matter what they think or not. In the end they decide your fate. They see woman has weaker than men ( No misogny into this. Just has a genetic thing. Just different than man) and thus choose for you the role you will have in society. Some people might find solace into this. Knowing before what you're meant to do with your life and be respected no matters what you do. .. Perso if My fate was to be a dish washer of the Qun I would run away. Maybe not though . Maybe Ill be brainwashed.

On a more serious note, I think it probably has more to do with the warrior caste.

Both Sten and the Arishok freak out to what are essentially pressures of being in an alien culture in a time where something that defined them in relation to the Qun was missing, leading to massacres. The Qun doesn't exactly emphasize cross-caste training. The warriors are trained to fight and that's the only way they know how to respond to crisis. Put them in a culture that's not as neat and orderly as Qunari culture, they have no way to respond except with the sword.

The arishok himself says he's not equipped to explain the Qun without his two counterparts, he merely enforces the Qun through the sword. In other words, he follows a written set of strict laws without any sort of judicial or introspective interpertation because he's isolated from the Qunari who have that job.

Contrast that to Tallis, a Ben-Hasserath, who is able to reason her internal issues with the Qun rather than killing everyone in her way to find the "gem."

This is the best explanation of Qunari culture I've ever read on this forum.

My point was that they think of women as only fit to make sandwich. They think of them as fit to govern society.

So every woman is fit to govern society ? That such a bad idea. It's worse in both way. It's worse than aristocracy.

But what about becoming a warrior ? Impossible ! Would not you be more proud of doing something that you were not supposed to be able to do ? Archieving it yourselves with your guts rather than given has a form of heritage because  of your sex or genetic code ? What kind of society is that ?

it's only good if you're given the right choice I guess. Until the day your beloved son future is to be a carpet vacuum.

There are no "beloved sons" in the Qun. A male Qunari impregnates a female Qunari, and that's the only thing the father does for his future son/daughter. A female Qunari gives birth, and that's the only thing the mother does for her future son/daughter - the child is immediately taken away by the Tamassrans and raised for specific tasks (which can be changed if the child demonstrates some other talents).

Women can be soldiers, just not for the antaam. The Ben-Hassrath have armed agents, like Tallis. And if they feel that srongly about it they can leave and become Tal-Vashoth

The qunari are no worse than anyone else. Only women can be priests in the Chantry, the dwarfs mistreat the casteless, the Orlesians treat their serfs like slaves, and everyone except the Dalish and the Qunari mistreat the elves.
