You want to see an entire group of people destroyed? A group centered around a religious following or practice, based on the action of only a portion of said group. hmm... That's not racist? Me thinks these kinds of thought are for small minds and big trouble. I hope this is a joke.

The best solution would be to remove them from Scheron and Par Vollen and send them back across the ocean from where they came their mission is to convert or kill EVERYONE in Thedas. I'm not saying wipe them out I'm saying send them back to their homeland

Is it terrible that everytime I see the title to this thread I start singing the song from Pocahontas?

"Savages, Savages
Barely even human
Savages, Savages
Killers to the core."

But seriously I think we've ly been exposed the warriors from their culture, hopefully they have more civil political leaders.

I'd be interested in seeing what Qunari artisans and musicians make, but it wouldn't change my stance that the Qun needs to be destroyed. Hopefully cutting off the head of the snake would be suficient by eliminating their leadership and successors.

My personal favourite part is when the Englishmen make peace with the Native Americans and then sail back home, never to return.

They are reasonable people, not savages. I'm agree with the little we know about the Qunari philosophy, but "The freedom ends when other people freedom begins"...

However, that violence they use to solve all kind of problems is disgusting.

You'd have to chop off thousands of heads, since there is a clear rank of succession in the excel sheet that is the Qun.

Their homeland? They've been in Par Vollen for 300 years at this point. No matter where they came from originally, Par Vollen IS their home.

We haven't seen what else the Qunari have to offer. All we've seen are their soldiers, generals and leashed mages, used to fight in wars. We haven't seen the merchants, the artists, the priests... Their culture is made up of so much more, and we've only seen a few small pieces to their puzzle.

I'll fight the Qunari, the Chantry, all of them. Anarchy for Thedas! Once we're rid of the Qunari and the Chantry let's sack Orlais!

Not far enough. Let the Darspawn win.

They are equal oppertunity monsters, and unlike the Chantry or the Qun or whatever the Dalish practice, they aren't political/hypocritical about what they stand for. If there are sinners in the world of Thedas then logically, the only true way for there to be no more sinners, savages, hypocrites, ect. is to elimate then all. There can't be sin if there are no more sinners.

They should be wiped out; they would do the same to all other races without batting an eye.

Since when do two wrongs make a right?

Since the Qunari make no secret of the fact that their religion demands the violent conversion and/or slaughter of all non-Qunari, and that said conversion and slaughter is their eventual goal, I can't see action taken against them as anything other than perfectly justifiable self-defense.

Preemptively attacking someone or a nation is self-defense?

we cant pre-emptively attack someone because of something they MIGHT do. I MIGHT walk around smashing peoples windows but u cant just arrest me for something I havent done for example.

As Paragon Shepard once said, "you cant control what people do or dont do, but you can control how you respond. Thats what matters."
If we let fear make decisions for us, how much better are we compared to the Qunaris or the templars or the mages?
We are Darkspawn! And we will rule your world after the ashes of your empires have fallen! HHSSSSSSSS!!

Except that it IS what the Qunari are going to do. It's what they've tried before and by their own words, it's only a matter of time before they try again.

And pre-emptive military attacks ARE an act ofself-defense. You're attacking an enemy you know for a fact will attack you, before they have fully prepared, so you catch them off guard, thus giving you the advantage.

With the Qunari it is not a matter of if, but when.

For Mages; yes.

For the peasants; it offers reassurance and comfort in a world full of horrors.

For those in need of charity; it offers physical assistance.

Not very cancerlike.

It's not pre-emptive, the Qunari declare war every time they open their mouths. They have explicitly and unequivocally declared their intention to invade, convert and slaughter all the peoples of Thedas, on more than one occasion.

Reassurance and comfort based on a moldy old poem that might be a complete pack of lies, and it's only reasuring and comforting if you believe in their specific dogma.

For those in need of charity; it offers physical assistance.

Some individual chantries offer charity, but they take just as much as they give thanks to tithing, and even the local chantries of small villages like Lothering, display extravagant opulence that makes it clear that their primary function is to hoard wealth.

I think Sten is different from other Quanari since after you've gave him his sword or even convince him he changes into a better person.

Uhmm... no. Sten's respect (and perhaps affection) for the Warden rose after his sword was given back to him. That does not by any means make him any better of a person.

Well since you used Lothering as an example.

When the actual soldiers bailed, it was the Clerics and the Templars who stayed behind despite the incoming Darkspawn.

Opulence is not a sign of wealth; that's just like saying that just because a man dresses well, he is obviously rich. Rather, the purpose of opulence is to give the impression of wealth and prestige which is necessary if one's words are to be heard and respected. It's why kings don't dress like peasants.

Not to mention, "extravagant opulence" is an exageration. Even the Chantry in Denerim; the capital; was smaller than many of the buildings in the Market District. Certainly, much, much smaller than Fort Drakon which was erected by Magisters. the One in Kirkwall? Another one built by mages on the back of slaves.

Oh, and the Lothering Chantry? They stayed behind to help the people evacuate.
When a greedy man hoarded his goods, who was about to call the templars have him distribute them to the needy? A Sister.

Oh, and the Lothering Chantry? They stayed behind to help the people evacuate.

Also shook travelers down for cash and showed that payment for blessings is apparently a valid transaction according to the Chantry. Do they sell indulgences too? We don't know, but I wouldn't rule it out.

When the actual soldiers bailed, it was the Clerics and the Templars who stayed behind despite the incoming Darkspawn.

A. They didn't "bail," it was a civil war, and B. the clerics and templars skedaddled long before the darkspawn actually showed up.

If you put an predator known for aggressive tendencies into an unfamiliar environment, then agitate it, expect it to lash out.

No, Qunari aren't savages, they have a strong and severe culture, with many faults of course, but just because I don't like their way of thinking that doesn't mean that they must be savages.
