I stand on the new brothel (whatever it's name will be).

I vote Arainai, in honor of the man who courageously sacrificed his life (seeing as all non-mages die in this scenario) to make this dream a reality.

Zev's AWESOMENESS would make him immune to death.

In DA:O you can do exactly that.

In DA2 it's the only thing you can do.

You see a trend here.

I had more than one stance:

Stage #1: Circles should be a school, mages should be free.
Stage #2: Send any mage who wants to return to the Circle back, Kill any others who resist
Current Stage: To hell with everybody. I don't give a shyt. *My personal fave* :D

I just said all non-mages had to die in this scenario, I never said the death had to be permanant.

Also, I'd like to point out that the very first thing that popped into Luiren's after reading about my depressing, post-apocalyptic, totalitrian distopia was "massive mage orgy", a true Zevran fan if there ever was one.

Thank you. I am indeed a Zevran fan.  What could possibly be better than a magical orgy?

For what's right. Killing blood mages and abominations while saving the lives of innocent mages from bloodthirsty Templars.

Well that's slightly less drastic than my "Kill all the non-mages proposal" but what are we gonna do when we run out of old gods to corrupt? There's only a limited supply you know.

Besides your solution doesn't result in an all mage orgy like mine does.

In all seriousness though, I do wonder if that actually be a potential solution at the end of the game "uniting everyone against a common foe" most likely it'd be the qunari...segwaying into the plot for DA4

Cheers, not much, unless you threw in some Turians and Asari into the mix.

Interestinly enough, I'm pretty sure this would also be Awakening!Anders' dream come true, too bad DA2!Anders has too much of a stick up his ass to appreciate it if it were to ever come to pass.

Hmm, you're onto something there. Ok, conscript them all and send them to the Deep Roads.

I stand on the side of sanity. It is not sensible to treat an entire group of people like non-humans and expect such a system to end well. On the other hand it is not sensible to ignore the dangers that mages and magic allow for, especially when untrained. What's more, it's illogical to place the care and maintenance of an entire group of people into another group that institutionally fears and despises them.

So,

1. I am for the abolition of the circle system as it stands (and it's currently a moot point since it has ended anyway). I would have been for gradual reform but that isn't in the cards.

2. I am for a comphensive agreement with all the major party of Thedas regarding natural/human rights *including* the rights of mages.

3. I am for the mandatory education of all mages and those with magical talent as well as specialized enforcement of magical crimes and specialized treatment of magical criminals. In this sense I don't oppose the *idea* (the original idea) of the Templars at all. Such an organization (likely an order of knighthood) should be composed and and get input from both mundanes and mages, and should be required to have both mundane and mage membership (and mundane members could and should be taught Templar-like Talents).

4. Such an enforcement arm should be absolutely secular (as in not in the control of the Chantry or any Thedas religion). This arm should be either indepedant much like the Grey Wardens (but if so, it should depend and promise to work closely with the secular rulers of Thecas while promising never to get involved in polics), or it should be subordinate to the secular leaders.

My take fwiw.

Seeing as how when it will be impossible to stay neutral in the war, mages. They are abused, and do deserve more rights and credit then they already have but within reason. And every time I play DA am a templar. I would honestly side with someone like Evangeline. She understands better on how to not give in to abusing mages and letting have their rights, but not to back down from them either. However, everyone deserves freedom and not to be judge from the actions of one.

I'd side with the mages, due to the fact that Templars are CAUSING mages to go to blood magic by pretty much giving them nothing else to live for.

it's the only solution and traditional one, a cliche. To make two faction not fighting each other is by unite them with a common interest/cause. The unity is maybe temporary but for the moment, it is something.

To make everyone on this world united under one banner, there must be an alien attack from outer space. Human will always dispute with each other, rival with each other, but always need each other. When under some thread human will automatically working with each other for survival. That makes us different with animals

I don't know.. I am kind of torn between the two. I guess I lean more to the system of Circle of Magi. But mages are also human, it's not surprising for them to want freedom. The question here is "is it ethical to condemn a minority for the greater good of the majority?". Personally, I don't like the notion of sacrificing a few for the betterment of the majority. But I also acknowledge that mages are potentially dangerous and need to be regulated. Therefore, the Circle of Magi is the best solution that I can see right now. I also can't bring myself to support The Templars because of The Right of Annulment. It's just.. retarded.

Here's an idea for Bioware. MAKE THE PC THE ANTAGONIST of Thedas. Mages, templars, and nations can then unite and hunt us :D. Problem solved. EZ
