@Medhia Nox:
The point is that the Tevinter mages likely care about their fellow mages as little as the Chantry does. If someone loses control and has to be killed, that's their own fault. You can even see it as weeding out the incompetent.

Apart from that: where does it say that Tevinter has the Right of Annulment? Also, if they have it to appease the Chantry but never use it it doesn't count.

Technically they have a separate chantry led by the Black Divine.

Fenris states that they have it - but that it isn't used for the same exact reasons.

I don't see why they wouldn't. They're a grotesquely pragmatic civilization.

In all seriousness though, I do wonder if that actually be a potential solution at the end of the game "uniting everyone against a common foe" most likely it'd be the qunari...segwaying into the plot for DA4

it's the only solution and traditional one, a cliche. To make two faction not fighting each other is by unite them with a common interest/cause. The unity is maybe temporary but for the moment, it is something.

To make everyone on this world united under one banner, there must be an alien attack from outer space. Human will always dispute with each other, rival with each other, but always need each other. When under some thread human will automatically working with each other for survival. That makes us different with animals

Here's an idea for Bioware. MAKE THE PC THE ANTAGONIST of Thedas. Mages, templars, and nations can then unite and hunt us :D. Problem solved. EZ

Yea! I see all these people marching on the sides of Mages and Templars and I'm wondering-who is on my side? What if I'm an Anithero. I'm on nobodies side. They better get on my side or else.

Or else what?

They use their powers to hurt people?

Yeah - good reason they were locked up in the first place then.

So....now you're going to lock up everyone who's saying "give me my human rights....or else." because clearly they're violent and deserve to be locked up. Nice way to disqualify yourself.

@Ieldra2: Sedition is a crime Ieldra.

You've got to do things the right way - or cause more pain for everyone involved.

Yes, I would be adamantly against Libertarians were I a mage in the Dragon Age universe.

And please stop equating it to the real world - it's not and never ever will be.  The criminally insane are humans too.

So no, I'm not going to lock up a man for saying: "Give me rights or else... "

But an armed man (as a trained mage always is) demanding to be given things... whether they be rights or not?

That should never be made legal.

It should be studied more then be feared, after all the more you know the bigger chance you can prevent something.

See the Quniary for eksesample they fear magic believing it comes only from demons and nothing else, this is why their mages have little to no control over magic, fear is not a good thing, it can cause more harm then good, history have proven this again and again.

It should be studied AND feared. Only a fool doesn't fear that which is dangerous.
Magic does come for a different realm. It defies reality. There is a big question how much of it can be truly understood.

And if you look at qunari, they are technologicly advanced exactly because they shun magic.

I dont fear such things. I RESPECT them for what they do. Alas for the poor munades ,with more dragons and spirits running around its the reavers and spirit warriors who will inherit thedas not the weak mundanes. they will most likely die out. Your the first person btw that promotes weakness. power is to be masterd and never feared. fear makes you irrational and doesnt allow you understand the world around you.

Or "Mages, let's leave the Chantry who barely tolerates us and we'll simply live our lives. We hereby declare the Chantry no longer has control of us."

Then the Chantry responds "The mages are leaving us, let's avoid an unnecessary conflict thanks to an unpopular divine."

Then the templars say, "We have authority over mages by divine right! If the Chantry won't let us keep or kill them by force, then we'll do it for them! We'll leave the chantry and go slaughter all the mages because of something they MIGHT do!"

I promote wisdom.
You promote insanity.
Your mad drive for power will be your undoing, and the judgment of the righteous will fall upon you.
When the demons feast on your black soul, I will be there, watching.

I have found a perfect solution to the entire big conflict in Thedas.

We'll get one representative from each faction.
Leliana (Chantry), Cassandra (Seekers), Talis (Qunari), Bethani (for the mages), and we'll need someoen for the templars(Evangeline?) and possibly tevinter.. maybe dalish.

Then we have a naked mud wrestling match.
Peace on TheDas.

Leliana: Hates mages and wanted the Exlated March on Kirkwall to kill the mages and hated the fact they were allowed to have fraternities.

Cassandra: She hates mages and wants them all dead or in chains.

Talis: She like all Qunari see mages as animals who need to be collard with their eyes and mouths stitched shut.

Bethany: The mage who hates herself and other mages who believes that it's okay for the mages to be enslaved tortured, raped and beaten on a daily basis.

Evangeline: She is just as bad as Leliana, Cassandra and Talis and would be more then happy to kill all the mages and drop them in mass unmarked graves.

To be fair, Cassandra wasn't that anti-mage. Neither was Tallis, or Leliana, or Bethany or Evangeline. Now that I think about it, those people were more willing to listen than anyone else. For Andraste's sake, Evangeline fell in love with a mage! Posted Image So your assumption here is pretty much completely untrue. Posted Image

Leliana wasn't that anti-mage in the first game but in DA2 she really seemed anti-mage when you did that quest with Sebastian. How she talked about the mages fraternities like the mages should grateful for being allowed to have them.

Tallis said that the Qunari know how to treat their animals and then and that mages deserve need to have their tongues removed and their mouths and eyes stitched shut.

Cassandra wasn't that anti-mage but she wants them back in a system that ignores the abuses they suffer and acts as if mages should be grateful for it.

Evangeline became a spirit warrior when Wynne saved her so she had no choice but side with the mages because the templars would kill her for being an abomination so it was self-preservation the swayed her not because she actually cares about Rhys.

Bethany does hate herself and other mages. She is a loyalist the one kind of mage that is worse the a magister. She thinks that the circle as it is is a good thing and that any mage who wants something more, even just a little more sun or fresh air is selfish and needs to be made tranquil or executed.

It's wrestling. Naked mud wrestling. There will be no drowning. Only grunting and oily bodies.

Also, Bethany is the best mage there is. <3

I would really like that quote from Tallis. As for Evangeline, she liked Rhys and even helped them before she received the Spirit of Faith from Wynne. Cassandra never mentions wanting the mages back in the Circle. All she wanted was for the Champion and the Warden to stop the fighting. Bethany doesn't hate herself. She simply felt isolated and alone, as she was the only mage left in her family (if your Hawke was a warrior/rogue). As for Leliana, all she wanted was for Elthina to leave Kirkwall, just in case the Divine did send an Exalted March to the city.

All things considered, while these people are more pro-circle, I still love these characters. I would love Evangeline's perspective as a companion or even Cassandra.

I stand for mages. I had my doubts before, but in DA2 they showed that people with no magic talent could be taken by demons too (it was that Missing Templar quest or something like that). And my first DA:O character was a free-will mage, so it’s more canonical, I guess, for me.

The line is from that short movie Redemption when she was talking to the templar about the callar for the Qunari mage.
