Oh?

It is bad writing and most people on this board see that:
It seems you are the one who doesn't quite get it.

Do you not understand that this is the exact same thing the OP is doing, only you are on the other side of the argument?

It's called trying to make a point, I was using the method the OP is using to show how ridiculous a point it is.
I'm not the one creating a thread to debunk others opinions so i'm interested in why you seem to be completely focussed on 1 sentence by me rather than the 20+ pages of the OP forcing his opinion on others if my comment affects you so strongly

All I get from this thread is:

People that liked the ending think that they are smarter than the ones that hated it because they "understand" the ending.
People that hated the ending think they are smarter that the ones that liked it because they see the plotholes.

Basically.

I'm indifferent about the ending because I'm smarter than both groups. Bam.

The point of the ending is to make you talk about it more than a year after release.

Yeah, I'm beginning to suspect as much too. It's just a gigantic trolling.

The fact that they're making ME4 tells me that they have more antics up their sleeve.

What slightly bothers me is that people get so upset about a game. It has plotholes, so what?

It ends there for me, that there's plotholes. But a lot of people just can't seem to let go.

I understand being mad at plotholes myself. I think it just takes a certain personality type that gets mad at things like that. Some people are mentally "tidy". Inclined to construct our thoughts/images/projects in efficient shapes. For me, it might even be mild obsessive compulsiveness. lol. Not sure. I mean, I do this with a lot of things.

Well, it depends on how significantly said plot holes disrupt the narrative and its suspension of disbelief.

Plus, discussion about the most minuscule of holes is common for sci-fi franchises, especially space opera. It's in the genre's blood.

Then why aren't people like you bothered with the fact that, somehow, humanity missed out on the entire mass relay network before discovering the Mars Archives.

I mean, c'mon, the Mass Relays are basically giant shotguns the size of a small to average sized moon, that light up when in use, emitting a massive energy signal.

Surely some sattelite telescope would've picked up on them, or some radation reading equipment, or whatever' s out there scanning the universe. UNIVERSE. This game takes place in the galaxy.

Which makes the entire game erroneous from the get go.

Overthinking games like this ruins everything.

What's this "people like you" stuff?

Like I said, there's a threshold. Excusing one thing shouldn't excuse all things, especially if they need to be properly explained and handled.

For who? If you're saying it ruins it for you, then maybe just take a step back and don't listen. Don't let anyone drag you down. It doesn't ruin it for people who engage in it though. I mean, the game itself might be soured, but they're still getting something out of the discussion. Everyone has their own thing, y'know.

I assumed you were one of those people that can't let go of the plotholes, hence the "people like you". If I offended you, then I'm sorry.

And that's a plothole big enough to ruin the game even before the opening scene of ME1, so that should be well above the treshold.

Because the Charon mass relay was inactive and encased in ice orbiting Pluto I believe the codex says, uncovering it was the reason why Pluto's orbit is now circular. As Benezia said it is very hard to find a cold object in space.
The coordinates for it were probably within the Mars achive.

I thoroughly enjoy the games, all 3 of them. It's an advise for people that now hate Bioware and the entire ME series. And apparantly have been affected by it so much they need to argue about it till this day.

Well.. in any case.. I like all three games. I just hate the ending of 3. Some of my favorite moments of the whole trilogy are in 3. But the ending still pisses me off.

Learn to read. I'm talking about the network, more specifically, the active relays. NOT the frozen one.

Right now, at this day, in real life. We are scanning the universe relentlessly. The UNIVERSE. This game only takes place in the galaxy, yet somehow humanity missed those giant, light emitting, artificial structures.

Fair point. Didn't think of that

Btw I know how to read so that comment is needless to explain yourself, perhaps you should work on your skills of explanation xD

I specifically said "the entire mass relay network"

Your brain somehow read that as the Sol relay.

We're only now in the recent decade and a half or so detecting new planets. It's hard enough to detect even gas giants. And the method used is doppler effect. Not clear observation. Moon sized relays in another stellar system would be extremely difficult to detect. The one in the Sol system wouldn't however. I've always found that questionable myself. Did it get moved here? Or was it always here?

Detecting planets is hard, because they only reflect light. Mass relays are a light source. MUCH easier to detect.

I choose not to argue about the Sol relay, because it's explained in the game why it wasn't found (a somewhat weak explanation, but still)

And I stress that I'm only arguing this here for the sake of showing that focusing so much on plotholes/errors sucks the fun out of the entire game. I really, really love all of the Mass Effect games.

They turned Mass Effect into something racist...
Then they force you to do horrible things that embody fascism...
It's ****ing sick...

I concede you on a point well made and you use it as a reason to patronise me further?

That pretty much sums up BSN
