Should I keep waiting for the SP Collector Assault Rifle?

I've been holding off playing the last 2 DLCs (Omega and Citadel) because I want to use my favorite AR to do so.
But Is it pointless to continue waiting for this weapon?
It's been a while and I'm uncertain if the Collector Assault Rifle is ever going to be released for single player.
So, if it's not going to come out, I'm just going to forget about Mass Effect and those two DLCs forever.

Your only hope is that some enterprising modder can add it to the game.

Let me get this clear for my understanding, they stopped releasing updates for the game and they didn't release the Collector Weapons pack for Singleplayer?
There are 3 weapons in Multiplayer which are based on Collector technology and I was hoping before they stopped releasing updates, they'd release this weapons pack.
But I guess that isn't going to happen now.
Same deal with Squadmate costumes too I suppose.
I mean, how hard is to to make minor updates like this every now and then just to give us something interesting to look at?
Well, that's it then.
I've now lost interest in Mass Effect 3.

You can literally unlock every single "exclusive" item in the game (assuming its on the disk).

It results in a flawed item, it works, but it's silent.
Which is why I was waiting for the official release, because the modified version couldn't understand the calls to the sound effects or whatever.

If you were only interested in ME3 because of some strange infatuation with the Collector Assault Rifle, well, then.....ok, I guess. There are a bazillion other guns out there to use.Tilarta wrote...

Sorta off topic here, but is it possible to use gibbed ME3 to get Liara's From Ashes outfit for my Femshep? I like the Nightmare armor, but would rather it be in alliance colours like Liara's.
I think you could do it in Mass Effect 2, but there were major glitches such as taking a step and crashing to desktop. It would require finding the right assets to assign to your character, so I can't see a lot of people working on trying to get something like that to work with Mass Effect 3.

Yeah, and I used all the ones that piqued my interest before tossing them back into the Storage Locker!
I use the Prothean Rifle, but after using it so much, I've grown bored of it.
I just wanted to go back to what I knew in ME2 for the last two DLCs.
Plus, I like the idea of using Collector technology to fight Reapers.
The idea of using their own inventions against them appealed to my sense of irony.
And I'm also a fan of organic tech, hence why I use Collector gear as much and as often as possible!
Really, I'm more disillusioned that Bioware didn't hand us the Collector guns before they locked the door on content updates.
And somehow, it's just not as fun using them in multiplayer.
The missions are too predictable, there's no random factor or surprise attacks.
Also, you have the restriction of only being able to carry 2 guns at once!

But that's not available either!
Add to that the fact that one of the CAT-6 Troopers uses it in a cutscene, it's like the game is taunting you!
Well, you get to use it briefly (as a Singleplayer heavy weapon), but not the fully featured, take it anywhere version you get in multiplayer.
Which is a source of annoyance to me.
They kept releasing all these wonderful weapons for multiplayer, but never for singleplayer!
From my perspective, it was like they were focussed too much on multiplayer and not enough on singleplayer, at least, in terms of weapons variety.

Open the Coalesced file with a Coalesced editor
BioInput --> SFXGame --> SFXGamemodeBase --> Bindings (multiple)
Select an empty text box at the bottom and paste this as you see it, with the brackets and spaces between them
( Name="A", Command="giveitem self minigun" )
Spitfire is referred to as Minigun in the game files. Change "A" to whatever key you want. It also annoys me and doesn't make sense that during the first big CAT-6 fight a notification pops up saying you've unlocked the Geth Spitfire but it's nowhere to be seen, and next to the weapon's name it doesn't say "I" or "II" to indicate an actual version unlocked.
I have no idea why that is there, but it doesn't matter anyway because with the binding I get to use the Spitfire from the get go

If I enter multiplayer and forget what I've done, well, I've just gotten an account ban.
No account, no playing ME3!
Which is why I was hoping that an official weapons pack would be released, it would be legal in terms of gameplay.
But I guess Bioware just lost interest in releasing them before operations involving ME3 ceased.
Or they're holding it out as a carrot to play multiplayer.
As in, you want these awesome guns, go to multiplayer!

Is modding weapons into the single player different?

*edit* the ban business is only with edited Coalesced files. edited savegames are fine.

Do you actually get an account ban? I don't play on PC, but I have modded my xbox games (hair only, nothing past that). I was under the impression that the single player and multiplayer were segregated in such a way that SP modding won't even register.

If its just your save game you are fine with modding game, for I have done that to see different changes to the game (such as keeping Mordin alive). You can change other files that are used to mod statistics in game, but make sure you change them back before multiplayer just incase, but I think they have said even modding those files are okay, just don't change the multiplayer values, but I would recommend using the default files if you are going to play multiplayer just in case.

Almost all of the multiplayer weapons ended up in singleplayer. Hell, I think just four weapons didn't make it: the three Collector weapons and the Geth Spitfire (it's a heavy weapon in SP though). I'd say there's plenty of variety, and much much more than Mass Effect 2.Tilarta wrote...

It doesn't quite work that way. First of all, the ban only applies to MP, as many others have said already. Additionally, you'll only get a ban if you've deliberately cheated in an obvious way, like, say, going into the coalesced to change how much money you get from each MP match and alter that value to pay out 200 million credits for a full bronze game. And this only works if you're the host. So even with a modified coalesced, as long as you never host games, you'll be fine and the changes you make won't apply (since the game always loads the host's coalesced).Tilarta wrote...
That's one of the reasons I'm hesitant to mess around with the editing options.

As regards the variety of weapons, I tested them all at one time or another, then just went back to what I was using in ME2 (with the obvious exception of the Collector Assault Rifle).
I just wasn't that interested in them.
The only new weapon that I added to my Arsenal was the Geth SMG.
Aside from that, I did upgrade certain weapons for my Squadmates to use.
For example, Garrus got a Turian specific Assault Rifle and a Turian specific Sniper Rifle.
I think he was the only one who got to use his species' native weapons though.
Tali was second in that category, since technically, Geth weapons are based on Quarian technology.
